John Sheppard/Teyla Emmagan Appreciation/Ship/Discussion Thread

Hey guys, any ideas for next topic of discussion? I was actually thinking today about what if Teyla actually DOES end up going to Earth at some point. What do you think that would entail -- just a visit or for some official purpose -- and what would Shep's role in that be. Also, just a thought, butSpoiler:apparently Woolsey will be making an appearance on SGA next season. From what we've seen of him on SG-1, it's pretty safe to assume that he's there to stir the pot a little, maybe investigate some of the happenings on the base. Again, what do you think Shep and Teyla will have to do with any future investigations involving Atlantis?

Hellooooooooo! Lo and behold and the owner of the Sheyla Dukebox returns from her holiday in Antarctica! I come with thoughts from The Long Goodbye which I finally got around to seeing. So.....
Spoiler:I know the shweir shippers made a big fanfare out of the kiss, but honestly I didn't see much in it. The two alien people didn't seem to have much...positive energy going. Heck, there was more positive energy in the sheyla kiss in Conversion.
Gosh, I sound like some feng shui freak - didn't mean it like that, honest! And without further adieu - *feeds Sheyla Jukebox*

Hey Caz, WELCOME HOME!!!... ... *waves*
Hope you had a wonderful time on your vacation.
We've been taking care of the Jukebox...
'Home'...such a wonderful episode...look how happy Sheppard is. Teyla get's to see his dream home.....
Good question Snogging, I'll have to think about it more, but I'm thinking he'd serve as an escort, telling her what things are and what to do. So she doesn't insult anyone. I'm thinking if there is ever an investigation on Atlantis they'll be working together, or so i hope.

more thoughts from The Long Goodbye...can't help myself today!
Spoiler:You know that scene in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi where that stormtrooper has a gun on Han Solo and wounded Princess Leia? When Alien!Weir comes across Teyla and Shep, with Shep hiding the gun, I was instantly reminded of that scene in Star Wars.
mwhahaha. the accompanying picture, is spoiler from TLG so link:

As far as Teyla going to Earth, I'm sure she'll visit at some point during the next few seasons but I was thinking that maybe the final Atlantis episode might involve the team or most of them going home for good. Not sure why, perhaps they beat the Wraith or Atlantis gets destroyed but whatever the reason, there's going to be a big decision for Teyla to make which will depend greatly on her relationship with John at the time.
I'm probably just throwing around a fanfic idea here but I figured that if it came down to whether our resident aliens stay or go, Ronan would most likely stay but Teyla would have a bit of a dilemma on her hands. She does have her people to consider but I can see her deciding to go to Earth with John at the very last second or even better turning up at John's apartment a couple of weeks later.
AboutSpoiler:Woolsey...SO cannot wait for this episode. Woolsey's inevitable mistreatment of Teyla is bound to get John's back up. Don't you just love it when he gets all macho and protective?

Teyla I can see going to Earth...she seemed to fit in well in the episode 'Home' ...especially when she was with John...she would miss her people but as Deborah said...her decision to go or stay would greatly depend on the seriousness of her relation with John and whether or not she had someone she trusted to take care of her people...
Since as a shipper I believe that John and Teyla's friendship will devlop into a serious relationship I think she would go to Earth...
She would find comfort in the thought that a warrior led her people (Ronon) but hopefully he would have learned a little patience and negotiating skills first...

We need to find him a nice native girl to settle down with, plus I can totally see a little Ronan Junior running around. (Picturing the cartoon Bam Bam for some reason).
Like you, I would love to see John and Teyla's romance become canon before the end of Atlantis but the writers are always hesitant with these things, they do love their ambiguity, bless 'em.
Gotta say, not a fan of the "lets leave this open to interpretation" mantra. Give me in your face obvious any day of the week.
Still, I am hopeful. For starters Teyla is not military and Joe Flanigan is definitely no-where near retirement. Sorry, thats my Sam/Jack bitterness seeping in there.Last edited by Deborah; 25 January 2006, 03:54 AM.

Well Teyla is an ambassador of sorts...especially if the officer's on earth would like to speak to her about her Galaxy and the threat of the Wraith. So I can see that happening.
But this brought in one thought to me though...I keep picturing John taking her out to eat and she's eating a gyro and munchies on the paper....ala Mannequin. "What is this material, John?" "Oh shoot...that's foil, you don't eat that!"
Hahahah!!!
