John Sheppard/Teyla Emmagan Appreciation/Ship/Discussion Thread
Humor is the great thing, the saving thing after all. The minute it crops up, all our hardnesses yield, all our irritations, and resentments flit away, and a sunny spirit takes their place. --Mark Twain

Title: Blood and Gold
Characters: John [Teyla]
Pairing: John/Teyla
Spoiler:
Blood and gold. It was a strange combination that John would never have found appealing before, let alone as stunningly beautiful as the sight before him. He’d seen sunsets, and sunrises where the two colours had blended together on the horizon, far out of reach of the tendrils of his city. He’d seen the walls of his city painted blood and gold as the plumes of light struck at angles and danced across walls and he was always mesmerised.
But none of it compared; not to this.
The beat of his heart was loud thud and it didn’t matter that he’d done this before – this was different. This was Teyla; this was her dress in blood and gold, a perfect mirage of the Lantean sunset that glinted off the waters far below.
She smiled as she stopped beside him and when he placed the gold band on her ring finger some time later he smiled up to her, her face bathed in the warm hues of sunset.
Yes, John nodded. He really did like blood and gold.
Title: Breathing in Death
Summary: He's so very glad it's not her.
Characters: John [Teyla]
Pairing: John and Teyla
Spoiler:
Death is inevitable, he knows this. He’s experienced it, all too recently. He knows that everyone one day will die. He’s just not ready for it to be her and as he sits beside her bed, listening to the steady sound of her breathing, he realises just how close she’d come this time. He closes his eyes as his hand wanders to hers, lying lifeless by her side. He doesn’t like seeing her like this but he has to reassure himself that she – unlike so many – was alive, that she’d made it while others – of her people and his – were not.
He doesn’t think she’ll mind if she wakes up and he’s there; it’s not the first time and it certainly won’t be the last. He listens contentedly to the rhythmic sound of her shallow breaths and finds himself thanking God that she’s okay.
She’d come too close this time. He can’t bring himself to leave her until he knows that she’s okay. He’s so glad that this time, it wasn’t her.
Hey Elf.
How are you doing?
I'll try to catch you on IM later...
Spoiler:
I have a last minute babysitting job for a few hours.
When I'm done, I'll finish Maff's Birthday fic.
BBL
Here's an idea for a ending for TLM.
Spoiler:
John steps through the gate to see a happy and still pregnant Teyla. Her face glows when she sees him. She wraps her arms around him, then gently grab his face and gives him a loving kiss.
Teyla-"I was worried that you would'nt be back for our son's birth."
John stands there in shock.
Fades to Black.
I know that will never happen, but one can dream!!
Now that would have been an ending..pretty much would be able to see his confused face there
“Darkness lies in all of us Teyla…the sooner you accept that, the easier the transition will be.”
Teyla lay helplessly strapped to the slab of cold metal centered among the towers of motionless bodies neatly stacked in rows and columns, each with numerous tubes and pipes leading in and out of them.
She silently wept for her people as they lay there so still, so close to her and yet farther away than ever before. They were lost she knew, gone to the darkness of Michael’s black heart, if in fact, he even had one at all.
She attempted to heave against the wrist restraints as Michael neared her with a long dripping needle but it was to no avail. One of his clammy hands held the crook of her elbow steady and the other plunged the needle deep within.
She bit her lip in frustration and her eyes filled with tears as she thought about everyone she had failed. Her people were gone, Michael had lured her with false images allowing Teyla to put Atlantis in danger, and now her unborn child was another victim, a victim she felt, of her own weakness and inability.
Footsteps approached clacking softly against the cold metal floor as Michael extracted the needle. Teyla looked towards the noise and watched dazedly as Kanan approached quietly. She began to feel sick as he neared, her eyes focused on the implanted slits to each side of his nose, symbols she felt, marking the loss of his humanity.
He stood over her and looked at her, though Teyla felt as if his deadened eyes bore right through her and she forced herself to look away. Michael was still standing over her, the empty syringe still held in his hand and he smiled. Though it was not the smile of a triumphant victor or a sinister demon, he smiled so genuinely, so truly, that Teyla felt even more uncomfortable than she could have ever thought possible.
“It will take time Teyla, but I hope you will come to find you have a place here, more so than any other. And when that day comes, I will show you wonders of which you have never seen….You and the child…..”
Teyla stared into Michael’s face and felt defeat creeping slowly inside her chest, its vicious claws tickling at the back of her throat.
Suddenly, a loud clang of falling items came from the northernmost balcony of the cold storage room causing Kanan, Michael and Teyla to all look towards it.
Somewhere above, a muffled voice sounding slightly annoyed was heard saying “Oh crap….”.
Oh that was really great
Spoiler:
Poor Teyla.. basically giving up...thinking no one would find her anyway...
The whole "Oh crap" I can only imagine what happened..who was that who had to destroy a moment of surprise maybe... I can't see Ronon really saying that...Carson..hrmm can see him saying it...John I know he is the one to use those words most of them when they get in trouble... heard Rodney say that too... I had to laugh in Midway when Rodney said oh crap when they were talking to that Wraith on the video screen and John just hits he over the chest like shut up.. don't pretend to be me *lol* I can't really see John tipping things over or falling over somehting... Rodney and Carson yes *lol* the other two..maybe but not so much *lol*
