Elizabeth Weir/John Sheppard Appreciation/Ship/Discussion Thread
OMG how cute is Torri!? (I used to love to wear my hair in pigtails but my sisters would tease me and tell me I'm too old for them...well guess what....the pigtails are back baby!!!! If Torri can do it, so can I!!!!! lol)
That's the spirit! *clappy hands* Hmm, I wonder what I would look like with them... mind you, my hair goes down to my waist... *wanders off in the direction of the bathroom in search of hair ties*

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon.Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.

I love my pigtails!!! ('course my hair's only just past my shoulders ....) good luck with your pigtails!
Wow. That's an interesting collection of Stargate people all together. What was it that someone said that those 3 older characters went to? "The lala land of the rejects" or something.
I think that Elizabeth Weir leaving the show was the single biggest blow to the balance of the show but the thing about her leaving is while you could conceivably call it the beginning of the demise of Atlantis, I don't think by the end it was the biggest contributing factor. The really weird aspect about the last two seasons, for me anyway, was that at first some things improved and some things got worse, and then in season 5, other things improved and other things got worse. So I don't even know how to say overall the show got better got better or worse, because it feels like both is true.
"First Weir, then Samantha Carter, and now, you! It's a pity you humans die or get reassigned so easily, or I might have a sense of satisfaction now!"
I'd totally love that. But seeing as we're so international that's gonna be hard to manage. I went camping with people from my X-files forum years ago and since then we've done so every year. (I kid you not!)
Okay, I'll rent them!
When I was little, I used to wear my red LaCrosse cap and clean the toilet for hours.
I just checked out Torri's imdb page, because I wanted to know what second ep on NCIS she was in and I came across this:
My french side will talk.
There is the movie "La vie en rose" or "La môme" on the french TV. (story about Edith Piaf) and there is many songs for Sparky. "Hymn to love" (L'Hymne à l'amour) of course and "Mon Dieu" (my god). This one is sad.
Now I go to bed. Bye bye

Or perhaps the Island of Misfit Toys.

I agree completely. The whole plot to get rid of Weir was probably one of the most visibly obvious negative changes (along with killing off Beckett), but yeah, there were lots of other little changes that also hurt the show (diminishing the importance of the ATA gene and thus eliminating one of Sheppard's major traits, for example) or things that were good (the darker turn of Sheppard and the show in Season 4, the development of Todd as the face of the Wraith, etc.) I found I kept watching to see just how many little pearls of goodness we might find among the mud clods. *sighs*

Hello sparkies, just a little time before I go to work. I was going to buy a house, but if it can bring back Lizzie, I'm in. Maybe I can start my company of contracted millwrights/welders/boilermakers/etc. (Union of course). And Miss Torri did look very lovely in her lapeled cardigan vest. I also noticed she really likes scarves *shrugs*

"I only understand about 1% of what she says half of the time."
I've been gone forever now. O: There are Sparkies here I haven't even met. I'm starting to get back in the Sparky mood after reading some of the stuff on here (like Fionnait's article), but still too busy to do much. College apps, essays, scholarships, homework, etc. has occupied all my time, so I hope you don't think I want to pop in every now and then out of necessity, but because I really want to know what's been going on in the world of Sparky. Someday.. there won't be so much craziness going on.

I feel the same way. I don't have any health problems and don't get out in crowds a lot so I'm taking my chances. I've heard about serious complications from flu shots and they scare me. I think the panic is a bit unwarranted. Everything seems to be a crisis these days.
And on LOTS. Watched it. Loved it. They are a bit Sparkyesque and just cute as buttons. I also love Zed but not that way. Ewww. I read the first book and liked it but the show is all over the place canon wise. My husband read all of them and he says the show jumps around, leaves out whole arcs and changes pretty much everything. But he likes it too.
I really like Legend of the Seeker. Watched some of it last night actually.
Spoiler:
Another prophecy! A new Seeker! dun, dun, DUN!! (I assume it was the beginning of the new season but I don't really know for sure.)
I've never actually considered whether or not Richard and Kahlan are Sparkyish. I'll have to be on the lookout for that now.
Cormac McCarthy was one of those them there authors considered "Highbrow". We studied a couple of his books. Whether he is or not, I love his stuff. For the paperback we read in school, the publishing company made the cover white with a gray photo of something wide-open, western and somewhat bleak, and I always thought that was the perfect way to cover a Cormac McCarthy book.
Writing what you know--that IS the key to it, I think. Or what your soul knows, anyway. Some people's souls are tied to fantasy, others to truth.
I haven't found what mine is tied to yet. Currently it's working with SGA and pedantic sentences describing Elizabeth running around Immaria. =\
ITA on the not knowing. SGA's seemed to have captured mine quite strongly for a long time now, but I would really like to know what else it's tied to so I can write some of that too. I seem to have issues sticking with (or even coming up with in the first place) original ideas. *sigh*
Ooooh, random doctor holding down the fort in the infirmary. You know... if TPTW had actually been thinking ahead, that should've been Keller.
Actually, when I first saw Keller introduced I just assumed that they were the same person and they'd just pulled one of those same-character-different-actress switches. They looked kinda similar and I don't think they ever said the other doctor's name. I didn't realize that they weren't until later.
I'm terrified of any language that's not English. And the only rule in English that's never broken is that there is no rule that's never broken. I used to tell my classes that just to watch their little heads explode.
I just love words like sew, sow and so. A game we played in English class was take this word ghoti and explain how it can be pronounced as fish.
Spoiler:
gh as in enough, o as in women, and ti as in nation. That gives you fish.
LOL
Have fun at the convention SK. We'll be waiting for your report. Take lots of pics.
And I totally think we should start a fundraiser....
Oh, I'm definitely in for the fundraiser idea!
Spoiler:
Sheppard, where'd you get that?
The Sparkies are having a bake sale so we can get Elizabeth back.
Great! *opens a nearby door*
Wait, don't!
*Rodney is buried under piles and piles of baked goods that come pouring out*

Whew. Good news.
And just for fun:
I like this pic for their matching smiles. Sparky mirroring FTW!

Glad your friend is okay. Several of my son's friends have gone through Ft. Hood in the past.
Our donations are really piling up. That $100mil is a cinch.
