      Actually, SK, the end of TMC would have been a really good place to do it, had time allowed. Or the beginning of the next ep. That could have been the first scene, and then they could have shown everyone trying to deal with their grief while trying to get through whatever crisis the ep entails. They could have at least done that.
      But then again that would involve actually recognizing the death of a character and its impact on the other characters. We can see with Carson that they prefer their own brand of magic grief that disappears instantly.
      Yeah, I think TMC or BAMSR would've been a perfect opportunity to have that moment for all of the characters to say 'goodbye' together, instead of the multiple scenes where we see only a couple of the characters at a time reacting.

      And not just Carson, but they also did that same "hurry up grief" with Kate Heightmeyer's death in Doppelganger, too. Really sloppy.

        If TPTW are writing it? Nope, I wouldn't want to see them try to put John and Elizabeth together, either. Because they'd totally screw it up.

        Now, if it was Joe Flanigan (and maybe David Hewlett) running the show, with Carl Binder writing it... maybe.

            Well, there's a funny little fic that has Elizabeth getting the jump on both of them in the game...

              Clearly they forgot Rule #1 of Making Good TV: Audiences thrive on consistency. Therefore, many cast changes at once is upsetting to audiences. Which is a BAD THING. *joins in headdesk*

              ETA: Yeah, it works on LOST and 24. So what? Both are very different shows. What works on them isn't necessarily going to work on Stargate. Grr.
