I'm probably one of those schmucks who won't have antibodies but I'm not that desperate to get out again to find a deliberate infection cause I think it would not end well for me -- and I have no pre-existing conditions and am relatively healthy (minor issues with allergies notwithstanding). I do have find that air polution gives me dry coughs so that would probably count as an unfavorable condition.

Since Mr. SR and I are in that vulnerable part of the population whether we have issues or not, I'm not in a hurry to get too close to people. Though I do want to hug my babies. Facetime is just not enough. Speaking of which, they got Easter baskets with balls and Elmo stuffed dolls. Thing 2 got all excited, clapped his hands and said "ball and Elmo" about a dozen times. Thing 1 threw everything on the floor and put the basket on his head. Thing 2 loves to video chat and sticks his face right up to the phone while Thing 1 largely ignores us except to wave bye bye. Thing 2's name is Henry but he pronounces it like Henri. We call him our French baby.

Yup, we're not a family of huggers or "I love you" sayers. We are all a bit socially awkward that way so we don't take much issue with the no-touching rule. However, I have found, twice now, that whenever we had a chat with dad that I feel ... weird... afterwards.

I've never felt this feeling before but I think it's the sort of feeling one would describe as "missing their physical company" maybe. I don't know -- I'm not good with describing emotions. *blush*

Anywho... my sister and I have been doing a lot of discovering around our block lately so when the restrictions of movement are lifted, we're planning on showing dad all our new discoveries in person.

Like I said, we're not a the touchy-feely sort of family but I do think I'll give him a big hug next time we see eachother in person and are allowed to do so.

It's baffling to me why'd people risk it. They still don't know if that is enough with the reports of people who'd recovered testing positive again.

Très adorable. Gifting holidays are always hilarious. In my household it usually goes like this: my kid would playing with the box (or now that she's older, stashing it away safely for future art projects), the cat playing with the wrappings or tissue paper while the gift laid neglected on the floor.

I always thought that I could better cope with something like this because of my autistic/introvert nature, but even I have to admit that I'm starting to feel constrained within these 4 walls. My sister and I, both, are relatively well at ease in lonely situations but we've started to notice in the past few days that we too are starting to feel the long-term effects of having to stay put.

A funny thing happened to me a week ago, though... in terms of having to stay put.

I got a text message from someone asking me how I was doing. The number was unknown to me so I reply, "I'm good but who are you?". I get a message back from them telling me their name is Jef, but the only one I know is the car repair man who keeps my winter tires in stock and his number I know. So, I reply "Jef who?" and I get a text back telling me that it's Jef from a group called Active.

I'm already at the part where I figured out this guy has texted the wrong number so I reply to him that I think he got the wrong number and I don't know of any such group.

Sidenote: I did by accident know of the group because there had been an article in the paper about them. They are a group of single people, mostly between the age of 50 and 70, who spend time together doing things together. A way for these people to keep in touch with each other and others and not go it alone.

He realizes his mistake and apologizes but I'm okay cause I just had the best laugh with his mix-up.
And that's that.

Then on sunday, I got another text message from him, wishing me a happy easter. Wished him a happy easter back.
Thought it was nice. Didn't expect to hear from him again after his miss, but definitely gave me a good chuckle.

Sometimes a break at home can be the perfect thing. I took a few days off for major house projects and it was so nice. I didn't watch the news all day and it was amazing the difference it made in my mood.

Yeah, I've stopped watching the news except for checking the weather. Much better that way.

It had it's challenges, but I still was sad when it ended. There has just seemed to be a void for those type of shows. I miss my Friday night lineup with Battlestar Gallatica, then SG1, and SGA. I didn't know how good I had it, lol.

Hey, do you get Comet TV in your area? They've just started rerunning BSG; they also have SG1 and had SGA on for a while. You can also get them streaming; it's totally free (they have commercials, which is what's paying for it).

Same here. I prefer doing things myself, but right now...there's nothing to do except sit around on the computer, watch TV, take walks.... No conventions, no shopping (except groceries), no trips. The monotony is getting edgy.

Why are people being so incredibly stupid (at least here in the US)? People going out to protest in large groups? Protesting is a great American tradition, but dude.... in large groups, without face masks... how is that a good idea?

There's got to be other ways to protest.

Why are people being so incredibly stupid (at least here in the US)? People going out to protest in large groups? Protesting is a great American tradition, but dude.... in large groups, without face masks... how is that a good idea?

There's got to be other ways to protest.

I think I need to follow SK's ways, and stop the news for awhile.

I have also seriously limited my exposure to the "news." I don't know who to believe anymore, but I definitely know who not to believe so I'm just staying informed and skipping the yelling.

Why am I not surprised that CA would come up with that idea? Hopefully they know what poison ivy looks like. Personally I think the newspaper itself would make a great substitute for TP. I found TP this week and bought some even though I don't need it because you never know.

Oh, and it was the first time for me shopping with a face mask on. It was very, very warm. My head is still sweaty. And also, some people didn't quite grasp the arrows on the floor signaling which way to go. But then these are RI'ers who don't know what a turn signal even is, so....

So there I am, sitting down to watch the next episode of Stargate SG1 in my neverending rewatch. I'm 5 minutes into my episode -- barely made it past the "Previously on..." section -- when I get a call from one of my aunts on whatsapp.

She needs my help to try something. A tool to help her teach online come next week.

5 minutes later she's echoeing through my phone and tablet/PC cause through whatsapp she told me to go to an online meeting room tool. Then she proceeds to tell me that she wants to test this tool, and all its features. It wasn't until she tried sharing her screen that everything turned a little psychedelic.

I don't know what she did on her end, but on our end the screen replicated itself in an endless tunnel of images which felt like you were looking straight into a prism of sorts. There was lots of cursing and grumbling so we told her if she wanted to practice more tomorrow she just has to call again.

She teaches 8-9 year olds so it's better she tests, curses and grumbles having us on the other side than a bunch of kids in her class.

Tell me about it. I hate the mask. Mr. SR had some N95 masks that he got from Home Depot to wear when doing yard work, but they are too stiff and very uncomfortable for me. I don't know how people stand them. And watch out if your nose runs.
