Good morning, Sparkies! Happy Canon Monday!
Originally posted by Southern Red View PostSaw Deadpool and had mixed feelings. I loved the humor but not the excessive violence and vulgarity. Too much graphic sex talk and action for this girl.(This is legal notice that any attempt to censor or delete, for the purpose of oppressing fair and open discussion, any statement made by me will be considered a violation of my right to free speech as guaranteed by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution, and will be dealt with in accordance with federal law.)
Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon. Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.

That's pretty much par for the course for Deadpool, though.

I guess I had something of a middle of the road between you guys' reactions to Deadpool. I was actually worried it would have been more violent than it was, so to me it was kind of a relief. And I guess humor is one of those subjective things, I think he's funnier when he doesn't rely so heavily on endless profanity.
"First Weir, then Samantha Carter, and now, you! It's a pity you humans die or get reassigned so easily, or I might have a sense of satisfaction now!"
*You got the touch! You got the poweeeeer!*
"Arise, Woolseyus Prime."
"Elizabeth..."

Having 2 characters who seem to have no connection except endless sex suddenly declare endless love just makes me sad. No wonder young people fall in and out of relationships with no more thought than they give to a change of socks. Sad.
That I liked also.
But enough OT chatter. Let's get back on track with Sparky.

Personally, I think I've always found profanity to be much funnier when it's used sparingly, or saving it for big moments that deserve it. Such as that scene in X-2 where Wolverine first meets Lady Deathstrike."First Weir, then Samantha Carter, and now, you! It's a pity you humans die or get reassigned so easily, or I might have a sense of satisfaction now!"
