I'm sure he didn't wear a sign announcing it or introduce himself by telling who his family is, so I don't understand the attitude. I'm betting TPTB told CJ and the others about it, which poisoned their opinion of Joe right from the getgo. That is, if they are the kind of people who judge others by their family's bank account. But I'm glad they all said they liked him once they took the time to get to know him.

I've always loved the iron woobie, that character that has everything bad happen to them. They lose their loved ones, they get tortured, almost killed time and time again. But there is no time to wallow because they have responsibilities to fulfill and people to protect.

I think you may have nailed a huge portion of my attraction to the Sheppard character, and my new attraction to Mr. Bohannon on Hell on Wheels. They suffer so pretty, and I for one am glad John ended up alone. This also explains my Vegas!John fanaticism.
