That Sheppard, he's sturdy.

I've always loved the iron woobie, that character that has everything bad happen to them. They lose their loved ones, they get tortured, almost killed time and time again. But there is no time to wallow because they have responsibilities to fulfill and people to protect.

I think you may have nailed a huge portion of my attraction to the Sheppard character, and my new attraction to Mr. Bohannon on Hell on Wheels. They suffer so pretty, and I for one am glad John ended up alone. This also explains my Vegas!John fanaticism.

As to the issue of a Stargate reboot, I agree that it's probably not going to happen for at least another decade if not longer, and as SR described, it'll likely be with an all new cast of hawt young things

I already imagine how I would like that reboot to be. Yeah, it will probably be only in 10 years or so, but by then they would be able to show us

the kids, the sons and daughters of the expedition we know, right?!

In my head I already imagine a beginning like this;
Somewhere, in the Pegasus Galaxy, we see a new enemy coming to light and meanwhile we see scenes passed on Earth in which a certain group of young people, are beginning to arrive to Stargate Command in order to board a new ship (probably by then, the Daedalus has already been replaced by newer ships).

And who are those young people? They are the sons and daughters of our favourite team, our Atlantis' flag team (the one we know now).

Rodney’s daughter is already there, Ronon’s son too, and we would see another young boy (a little bit older) looking for them. When they would see him, we would see one of them, Rodney’s daughter or Ronon’s son, calling him Torren!!!

Then, once they are together, we would see them commenting that the “others”, of course, are not there yet!

And who are the others?!!!! *Drums*

Oh yeah, you guessed it right! They are John’s twins, a boy and a girl. (I hope you don’t mind SK, but to me they are the twins from Restoration, ok? )

And of course the big mystery, during the whole episode, would be who the twins’ mother is.

Then we would finally see the twins arriving, or lets say having some kind of trouble getting authorization to enter Stargate Command.

We would see the siblings having a friendly sibling’s argument, in which the boy would blame the girl for the fact she always seems to attract troubles no matter what, that when she is around, things never happen smoothly and easily, with no problems (something that would immediately remind us of John) and by then we would realise the girl is the rebellious one, totally the picture of John, and the boy a more peaceful, diplomatic kind of person.

We would also be able to see some physical similarities to John as well as to the mother, (I don’t know, maybe the hair aspect) in them.

Anyway. But finally, and almost at the last minute, we finally would see the twins arriving near the rest of the group.

And when all of them, Rodney’s daughter, Ronon’s son, Torren and the twins would be together, we would see them being beamed up to the new ship.

I am not sure but, maybe by then they would have found another ZPM and they might no longer need a ship to get back to Atlantis – oh yeah, because the group is on its way to Atlantis – but for the purpose of my story, they would have to probably be aboard a ship.

So, once in the ship (oh wait, or then it could be a new Midway Station too! - but whether on the ship or at the Midway Station) something would happen - I don’t know something similar to “Intruder” or something else - and then they would have to “save the day”.

But in the middle of the “mission”, one of them - I don’t know, Torren or one of the others - would ask the twins, if there isn’t a way for them to use their - *drums* - nanites in order to help solving the problem!

And there, right there, we would immediately know who the mother of the twins is!!!!

And oh well, the rest of the story, I leave it to the person who would actually write it.

For some reason, I'd lean towards the daughter being military and the son being more like Elizabeth, but maybe a scientist.
