Health class is usually spent doing book work. Today they started watching a movie about nutrition, and the only subtitles were in Spanish. So I just got done interpreting 35 minutes of "Supersize Me". Don't think I can feel my hand anymore. *shakes arm* Nope.

Got back from lunch late. Had a milkshake that is not sitting well with me. Grr. I can tell it's gonna be one of those days...

You don't sound too hot either. Didn't the DVD have subtitles?

I may be wrong, but I think she said the DVD had subtitles, but they were in Spanish. The student she interprets for speaks English.

At this point, I don't have any faith in the general education system anymore. A few teachers, yes, but for the most part, nada.

But it pays the bills.

Correct. My student is deaf and primarily signs, but is fluent in English.

Bueno. Due to headache that just popped up, any creativity has been zapped for today, though. Like this: "I can't brain today... I have the dumb."

Carson can be the school nurse. *just kidding* OMG. *flails* When it comes to schools though, truth is sometimes stranger than fiction. I taught in a school where 2 of the custodians were married to each other but had to keep it a secret because of rules. Lovely people, and we all knew. Just proves stupid rules are stupid.

Yep. Conflict of interest and avoiding favoritism. The same way if you're a cashier at a grocery store, you're not supposed to check out family or friends. True story.

Started replying and then I remembered I was going to quote a few more posts... guess that happens when I forget I checked GW on my phone earlier.

Sometimes it is easier to write within canon, other times one has to scream at its limitations, especially when certain events happen in canon that we don't like!

I ignore canon for the most part. Sure, I'll find myself writing a tag here and there, sticking to canon but seeing as how in canon Kate and Teyla are just friends... no way, I'm sticking to canon. They're soooooooooo not just friends. They definitely got the hots for each other.

Anyway...

I think I may have just ruined christmas

They did a great job with keeping Kate competent but also very human.

CR: No, I had no idea. I was reading it and I saw my death and I thought "that can't be real" and then I saw Rodney's death and I thought "that really can't be real" and then his was not, but mine was- and I was bummed. But it's sci-fi so anything can happen- I could be cloned yet!

And also...

CR:Atlantis was lovely because I was there long enough to get to know everyone. I was thrilled when I was finally given my own earpiece -- I really felt like a part of the cast then. They are both well-oiled machines because they both had predecessors and so everyone in all departments are serious pros.

This is also true at the Brussels Airport Company. Married couples cannot be employed in the same departments. I think that's a good rule too.

Exactly that... though it does help to have friends or relatives sometimes. I have to admit to that when I was replying to a job-ad at the Brussels Airport Company. I thought the person whom I sent my CV was ignoring my request for a reply after I was turned down so I asked my sister if she could maybe probe the woman for information. As it turned out she had been too busy to reply immediately to me... gosh, did I feel ashamed of myself when she called me later in the week. I profusely apologized though.
