Elizabeth Weir/John Sheppard Appreciation/Ship/Discussion Thread
You'll never gonna find them saying that though... ...admit it's better to have a show bible than to have none. I mean, heck, look at us at Atlantis Rising... we're amateurs (no offence to the great authors whom I consider far beyond amateurs btw) but we hammered it all out and literally had sticky notes all over the place. Doubt, you could call that a show bible but we left no stone unturned, right.
Oh no, they'll NEVER admit that they could've done it better.
Hey, I say we've got a show bible! Sure, it may be messy, but We Have A Plan.

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon.Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.
I just found it off the interwebz... no idea really where exactly I plucked it away from. I've had it for a while now, so the source is no longer stored in my internal memory files aka my brain.

I just don't know what would be good pictures... Ideas?
Well, were I to create a Sparky signature, I'd probably use an image with lots of eye!sex going on. Or the one where John's carrying Elizabeth in Echoes. Or I'd use an individual image from both and add some romantic lines.
I must say as far as Sparky images go, I might not be the best resource.
Though it would of course depend on what kind of mood you're aiming for. Woobie!John missing the love of his life, or happy Sparky couple, or saucy eye!sex moment... or whatever else there is.

All the talk about signatures makes me realize that I should try and make a new one at some point. I do have Christmas themed one planned so maybe I’ll just wait if I can’t come up with something, we’ll see, it’s been a while since I did anything with photoshop.

The difficult part about doing anything with Sparky is that there are no bad pictures of the two of them, but I would recommend that when choosing which picture/pictures you want to use in it you first decided what kind of “theme” you want it to show, romantic, angst, happy, sad etc. and then you find the pictures you think will fit, or you can just play around with it, sometimes the best fanart are the once you didn’t plan.
I can say that sometimes when you work in the industry, after everything that goes into putting together an episode, watching the final product may not be terribly exciting. The final product is a shortened version of all the work that was put into it. And it's work, like any job. I do :30 promo spots, and it can take a month to deliver a final product. I do watch the final cut, but I'm mostly analyzing it for approval. Only if it turned out incredibly do I pause to recognize that. I suppose if you're shooting for 16 hour days, rewatching dailies, etc--and it takes months for the completed product to air, it's just not as shiny as it is for a fan.
Plus, there is so much more into the build of production. Most episodes have much more in the script and shoots than viewers see. Shooting schedules, etc. Scripts have certainly been written and approved, and given to actors, before many prior episodes are laid down for final cut, so they may not be thinking to remember how they acted a few weeks prior. At that point, even if you get to watch the episodes that have been finished if they've been finished, another few have already been shot between now and then so it's difficult to keep character continuous.
Very important points there. I've been saying for years that we can't put too much importance on what actors say at cons. Yes, they may have been told that X might be a possible love interest for their character and then never told any different, but no romantic scenes are ever shown. Or, in the case of what we know happened on SGA, ship is never discussed with them. No wonder we all got confused signals.
Good morning, Sparkies! Happy Lazy Sunday and S-minus 4 hours and 45 minutes until No Man's Land!
On the College Football Round-up... Virginia Tech had a bye this week, Georgia knocked off #2-ranked Florida 17-9, USC lost to Arizona 39-36, Tennessee lost to South Carolina 38-35, Air Force beat Nevada 48-31, and Navy beat East Carolina 56-28. So... not so good a week for me and PK, but darn good for everyone else.
VT has a game Thursday night with Miami which they are probably going to lose, and East Carolina is my alma mater, so boo Navy.

LOL at remembering the stickies. I still have them all. We left no stone unturned, that's for sure.
