It's funny how celebrities act. Some of the sports stars I've met, how are revered, are super duper nice, down to earth people, and some of the lesser knowns are more, er, attitude prone. And then of course you have divas. I guess it depends on the people, really. But I can only imagine what it must be like at a con setting, with so many adoring fans talking to you, trying to focus on what each person is saying to make them feel special and show your appreciation for their support. As a shy person myself being around all those people would make me a little cuckoo. I don't know how they do it, but I admire them for doing it.

I gotta say BOD was definitely a good episode. i always love what if's scenarios. shows you that not everything is black and white. can't believe you guys brought back Kate. didn't see that coming.

Yeah, but Tony doesn't have as much problems with the ladies as Rodney does. Heck, Stark really *doesn't* have problems with the ladies ever! Hence why he's closer to Sheppard. And I could see Torri playing Pepper Potts.

There's also the fact that both Tony and Sheppard are rich boys with serious daddy issues. And then there's the smarts... Tony's more overt with his, but Sheppard's no slouch in the genius department either. Could've been Mensa? Hacked an Ancient control chair to ruin Larrin's day? Yeah. Sheppard = Tony. Game over.

Atlantis Rising is a "virtual series"-style fanfiction series continuing SGA after Season 5.

We learned quite a bit more of Sheppard's backstory in Season 4's "Outcast."

How does one get involved in Atlantis Rising?

My first suggestion is to go read and comment on the stories, at our website: sga-rising.com.

We've pretty much got everything laid out as far as our first half and we need to circle the wagons in the next couple of months to address the second half. If you'd like to do more after reading our stories and learning more about us, we can talk then.

Stark doesn't really have "daddy issues" the way Sheppard had them. Stark dad just died when he was really young, but it seemed that they had a pretty good relationship. Whereas Sheppard and his dad had a major falling out, didn't speak to each other for 20 odd years. And they didn't seem to have that good a relationship to begin with.

You're kidding, right? I think you need to go watch Iron Man 2. Tony and Howard didn't have a very good relationship, either. No, it wasn't to the extreme of John and Patrick, but that's probably only because Howard died so soon.

I haven't seen Iron Man 2 yet. Obviously I was mistaken in that idea, I did not know. Note to self: get Iron Man 2 next on Netflix.

Damn good movie. i'll say it before The Avengers team reminds me of the atlantis team:

Captain Steve Rogers / Captain America - John Sheppard
Tony Stark / Iron Man - Rodney McKay
Thor - Ronon
Hawkeye / Clint Barton - Aiden Ford (????)
Black Widow / Natasha Romanoff - Teyla (maybe???)
Hulk / Bruce Banner - Carson Beckett (maybe???)

I totally put Rodney as Stark too...cause he's very very Cocky. Nice list...and Ronon's totally Thor...if they were in the same room they will be best friends.

Add Tony/Pepper and make it a triple date.

The Snark level that will be flying between all of them it will be completely magical....I might have to write this now!

He tells Nancy that his dad thought marrying her was the best decision he ever made, so that sounds like they were in touch after his marriage. I guess we'll never know for sure.

I don't see John as Captain America and I didn't see him as Mr. Fantastic either. He could be Tony. He's certainly smart enough but I could never see Rodney as that kind of self-assured good with the ladies character. The whole Mr. Fantastic thing was just a way to try to get the audience to picture him with Teyla. It failed miserably IMHO.

*nods* That's also how I saw it, that Afghanistan/divorcing Nancy was the straw that broke the camel's back in John's relationship with his father.

Exactly. It's just not in Rodney's nature to be a cool cat like Tony. But John's got that down pat.

It was a disaster. Though TPTW were ironically prophetic in painting Teyla as the Invisible Woman, considering how they wallpapered her. *shakes head*
