He called her ma'am in the pilot consistently. And called her Elizabeth the first time in HZ.

I remember him calling her Dr Weir consistantly, but for some reason right now thinking about it I can't hear the word ma'am coming out of John's mouth, even in regards to other female characters.

Hehe, isn't he? Guys usually are, and I think she reads him well, but I think the opposite is also true. Through three seasons they really got to know each other well, which, again, works for this ship. They come across as mature and very real.

Anyway, to answer your question about e - readers - while I don't own one (and they're still not so popular over here), I'm aware many many people own them - which makes your idea a great idea, actually Making our stories accessible will prove we're serious about this Sparky project

Now I have a question. I'm trying to write a fic where John got pissed at Elizabeth. I think we've seen all versions of he didn't respect her order/he did something stupid and she got pissed at him, but I'd like to do it other way around, however coming up with a scenario where she makes him angry isn't easy (aren't we making her a little too perfect?)

Anyway guys - what do you think - what could Elizabeth do, to make John angry?

I really don't know what that was about, but does that mean i should be reporting all the Kanaan and Kanaan/Teyla bashing i find myself seeing all over the place since i do like that ship and have always said so?

Okay, I checked, and no, the planet where Atlantis had that little field camp where the Clone!Team met with Team Shep in This Mortal Coil was NOT New Athos. Hmm, I could swear that in some episode in Season 4, I had heard about a team being stationed there after the Athosians disappeared, though. Maybe it was an investigation team looking for clues to what happened to the Athosians? CSI: Pegasus.

Speaking of military rank, I need to check, but if we're going to be starting Atlantis Rising a few months after EatG, I wonder if John might be due for a promotion to full bird Colonel sometime during Season 6...

You know, SK, john certainly deserves a promotion. I'm all for that. He shoudl ahve a proper promotion party too. Now, that begs the question if we have room for that in one of our episodes - I must think about it, but it might fit into "Gravity".

I never ventured in the "other ship" thread, not even as a lurker. I'm not interested at all. Why are they so interested in reading ours? Just to call a moderator every time we derail just a little? And in this special occasion, I don't believe we derailed at all.

Since e-readers are becoming more and more popular with many people, I was wondering if we should offer our Atlantis Rising fics for download in e-reader formats?

It would be super-cool! And there's an application for Windows which converts every text in the most popular e-reader formats, such as epub, mobi etc. It's called "calibre", you can find it here and it's freeware!

P.S.: I just noticed in their website Calibre is also available for Mac and Linux

Yeah , I don't get that. If i don't like something i wont actively go looking for info on the subject just so i can get people in trouble. People keep saying very negative OT things about Kanaan and Teyla/Kanaan yet I dont go complain to the mods everytime i see something. everyone is entitled to an opinion and i just usually point that out in the thread where the negative discussion is taking place and move on.
