    Actually, this is something I find funny about a few complaints I've seen regarding the virtual series Rising being too Sparky-centric.
    I'm not sure where these comments were made. I've only seen one snide one on the SGA Rising website. All the others are very positive, and no one ever said anything like that to the writers as far as I know.

    If a published series can get away with Sheyla, how is incorporating more of John and Elizabeth's relationship in a completely fan-run, fan-driven, non-profit project any worse? (Or even bad? Heh.) Besides, it doesn't even take up most of the story.
    Most of the story? Seven episodes were written before Elizabeth even came back. In most of them John had a girlfriend that was not Elizabeth. I wonder who could possibly have seen Sparky where it was not written.



    I'm assuming the Legacy books were meant "for the fans by the fans," too.
    The Legacy books were approved by MGM and were supposedly done by professionals with no ship prejudice. I'm not sure they knew they were hiring shippers because certain authors were very careful to remove all fanfic from certain sites and kept their shipper preferences quiet. Besides, all tie-in novels for any series are written by fans for the fans. Otherwise, why write them.

      I still shudder at the one fanfic I did happen to read by one of the authors... I didn't really recognize the characters.

          The only comments I've read were on the Rising site. I haven't looked up the story anywhere else.

          Yeah, I know, she appears at the end. Which is why I thought any complaints were absurd.

          I was taking "for the fans by the fans" to mean that it wasn't supposed to alienate anyone by making ship and character preferences obvious. It seems to me that Rising does it well, but if the Legacy books - aimed at fans in general - incorporate a lot of Sheyla, then their integrity comes into question.

                        This sounds like another great opportunity they missed to have the team stumble onto some Pegasus "herb" that they think is like something from Earth. They bring it back to the kitchen and..... Hmm, maybe I will have to resurrect the cafeteria lady. If only I had more time.
