Elizabeth Weir/John Sheppard Appreciation/Ship/Discussion Thread
I had a second interview after the previous one on monday that gave my low self-esteem a low self-esteem. Apparently, the guy thought I was a worthy candidate. I sure didn't feel like that after that interview.
Oooh, lovely. Do you have Teavana where you are? Mr. SR gave me an infusion set and some delicious peach herbal tea for Valentine's Day. I can't wait to try more flavors.
I'm falling in love with Teavana. I gave in and bought some of there White Chocalate Peppermint recently. It's the best ever. I can't wait to try more of their teas.
I tell you Teal'c, hockey is the coolest game on Earth!

Please try other tea places besides Teavana, you'll thank me later.
I don't know of any other tea places around here. The grocery store I always go to has a really good chamomile though. It's from a company called Celestial Seasonings.
Does that have a dragon on the box? Cause I think my sister gave me some herbal tea that was, I think, from Celestial Seasonings. She gave a tea-for-one set and plenty of teabags to go with it for my birthday last month. Though tea doesn't always have to come in a tea-bag, cause then I can't use my teatanic.

*squeals* OMG, that's so cute!

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon.Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.

It is.
That is my fave teabag brand, but I think I'm hooked on the loose tea now.
FH, I don't know about a dragon, but Celestial Seasonings has a ton of different flavors. I love the Sleepytime Vanilla and the Cinnamon Apple Spice. Mr. SR loves the different Zingers, which are quite strong and (heh) zingy.

Teavivre, Verdant Tea, Whispering Pines Tea all have great loose leaf. Lupica Teas and David's Tea are good for flavoured blends. Twinings is decent for bagged tea, but you can find better stuff in an international or natural foods market.

Yup, that's the one. I shall have to check if I saw a dragon on the box, or whether I imagined seeing it, but I recognize the logo. I had not heard of the brand before getting all that tea for my birthday (and my best friend gave me tea with rubarb in it).
Per the tea discussion, I really like The Republic of Tea brand. The Ginger Peach and Downton Abbey Earl Grey are really good (though I've tried several flavors and haven't found one that I dislike).
Hope everyone had a nice Valentine's and is managing this ridiculous cold well.
Also, the week before last or so I actually wrote another Sparky poem and just now I figured I should share it here. Because why not? I was listening to the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack and realized that "Fooled Around and Fell in Love" made me think of John and then I wanted a verse from Elizabeth's pov so this happened. It's a little experimental for me b/c it doesn't rhyme, but it was fun.
Spoiler:
I tried my hand at Forever once.
It didn’t work out.
After that Forever wasn’t even on the radar.
No expectations, nothing lasting.
A reputation I didn’t really deserve
(thanks, McKay)
But hey... If I’m honest...
Not too far off the mark.
But then – unexpectedly, unobtrusively,
Un-everything except unwanted –
There she was.
She’s a woman of words, not action.
But there’s got to be some kind of ninja in her,
The way she snuck in –
Subtly, sincerely, frustratingly.
Amazingly.
I was hers before I ever knew I was up for grabs.
I wasn’t looking for a Forever kind of deal.
But before I knew it...
That’s how long I wanted her around.
-
He wasn’t part of the plan.
Part of the equation.
Part of the way things were supposed to go.
I didn’t have time for That –
For wanting, for loving.
For distractions.
I figured I’d settle with Really Caring
and that would be enough.
Safer.
Just friends, I told myself.
(After all, I’m supposed to be an expert at persuasion.)
But then I slipped up.
Or he barged in.
(or maybe he just caught me.
I’m not sure which.)
With teasing grins and stubbornness and loyalty and recklessness bravery-that-makes-me-want-to-shake-him-and-kiss-him-at-the-same-time
And then Really Caring turned into
“Who am I kidding?”
and That sat on my desk and stared at me until –
ignoring That?
No longer an option.
I’ve been ruled by excuses disguised as rules, seized by seize-the-moment phobia,
But now...
Let’s just say I’ve never been happier that a plan didn’t work out.

Hey *waves* and welcome back. Loved the poem, so very Sparky. I loved the music in that movie too. You reminded me that I meant to check it out on iTunes.
