Oh i am picturing that too right now, so cute!!!! And then on the next day, or on one of the following days, we would see John sleeping on the mat of the sparring room and then Ronon and Teyla would walk in and witness that. They would approach him then and pat him on the shoulder, John would lift his head from the mat still with his eyes closed and would be saying “ I am awake, I am awake” . Then Ronon and Teyla would exchange amused looks.

Lucky us they never decided to actually get Sparky together.
I think Elizabeth never had true feelings for Simon, or at least she was no longer having any feelings for him when she decided to go with the expedition to Pegasus. I mean would you leave behind the one you love the most in order to pursue your career? I mean, ok, it was a trip to another galaxy, and an unique experience, but even though. And if Elizabeth was so in to Simon, why didn’t she ask Simon to go with her the first time?

I think that Simon was offered a chance to go along, but didn't want to.

The second time (Intruder - season 2) yes, he was offered a chance and didn't want to go. But we never knew if he was invited to join the first time they left to Atlantis. I am guessing he didn't, because he only knew about the expedition when he saw the video Elizabeth left.

Indeed. I did deliberately spoil myself for one plot point, because I knew that if I didn't, I'd spend the whole time worrying about the outcome and thus I wouldn't be able to enjoy the movie. But the rest, I want to see it in the theater the way it was intended.

Yeah, I believe that was the intention of that scene.

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon. Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.

I just saw that they showed ‘The Pegasus Project’ on TV and it’s a good episode. I know that there’s no Teyla and Ronon in the episode and very little John so it did make me wonder if they did an episode of SGA around the same time but McKay have a big part in ‘TPP’ so I dunno, they could have filmed something or they had some time off then, either way it was good to see that Liz was in it quite a bit and she does work well with Daniel and seem to have a handle on how to handle Vala as well.

That sounds like fun, that way you’re really into it by the time you watch IM3.

I defiantly get that one because I’ve done so before on other movies and shows and books myself

Teyla and Ronon not being around was the new standard around that time... so them not being there was just the way TPTW wrote it. So I guess both Rachel and Jason were off doing other stuff... gosh, they must have been overjoyed by all the free time they had. [/end sarcasm]

Gotta see what Firefly related character I am.

I had a dream with Joe in it last night. He and Jill Wagner were on some TV show in an autograph line. I was laughing because Jill was dressed as Larrin. Weird.

Edit - my name isn't too interesting but my reputation comment is cool. I think my favorite name is Pearl's - Jayne's hat maker. Now that's just cool.

I don't know if I agree with this...maybe her feelings *had* changed and were different, but I think she definitely felt something for him. The news that he'd moved on definitely threw her for a loop (not that she should've been ALL that surprised, what with leaving the galaxy with no idea if she was coming back at all). And she'd just been rejected by him not once but twice because he declined the offer to go to Atlantis with her.

I always felt like even though I saw chemistry b/w Elizabeth and John pretty much from the beginning that it didn't get flirty and more *there* til after Intruder...but that could be me seeing more into things and just wanting Simon to be the cheating jerk while she stayed true to him. *shrug*

My inference at the time was that it was meant to illustrate the secrecy element, rather than the time element. While she had clearance to tell him, it was pretty much at the point of 'dial the gate' rather than when they were transferring from antarctica to sgc. IDR the sequence exactly, but i suspect if they'd dialled and were unsuccessful, he'd have been none the wiser when she came home all mopey

Good morning, everyone! Seems like I have a bit to catch up on!

Being the Star Trek fan that I am, I went to the special showing of "The Best of Both Worlds" last night with around 15 friends. Had a blast! Great remastering of the episode! And the bloopers... OMG, I died laughing. Which is one thing that TPTW could've taken a lesson from.

Anyhow, it's Friday, and I'm ready to get my Sparky back on.
Saw the full trailer for the next Star Trek movie. Looked a bit stuuupid, as does the new Superman. Sure hope I'm wrong. However, in terms of Star Trek proper, ST XI was stupid too, but still an enjoyable movie, so what do i know right?

I think if Elizabeth never had true feelings for simon then she would be one cold individual. One only has to look at her reaction in Intruder to see that she was completely gutted when he dumped her (and to be fair to him, he probably thought she was dead). Now, I doubt he was 'the one', but 90% right is close enough for some people. When it came to her own romantic needs (from the little that we actually did see) Elizabeth was pretty timid and didn't rock the boat much. I doubt she would have ever left him had it not been for the the expedition, and even then she still considered them to be 'together' until hearing otherwise.

As for asking Simon to go with her, my assumption is he didn't have clearance. If he did, then he wouldn't have needed the video after the fact. Carson was already working with the USAF (or the IOA, it's not really clear) at that point, and given they didn't really double up on specialties, blooding someone new into the stargate programme seems kinda unnecessary. But the other reason, the easier one, is that it frees up the writers considerably

that's the way i like seeing movies like Iron Man. I remember going to the see the first one not knowing Jack. (no pun intended lol.) and i loved it. Robert Downey Jr. is Tony Stark out of character and in character.

Does it make me a bad Firefly fan if I can't remember what blue hands have to do with it? I swear I've seen every episode at least 4 times.

ITA with all of this, especially the part about the flirting. S1 was just so busy and intense, we didn't get a lot of personal moments even though we saw John following her around like a little puppy and being loyal to her right from the start. But with that coffee scene in Intruder, everything changed and he blatantly flirted with her. That was when a lot of us thought, hey wait a minute, maybe the writers have changed their minds. But alas, not.

Plus too, don't forget that he was all the way back in DC and she was in Colorado, and due to the secrecy, she wouldn't have been able to tell him over the phone. I was always confused by the bit in Intruder when she drove her little red car to see him at their former house. It was not clear where this was. I think we were meant to assume she flew to the East Coast, but had she left her car in the airport parking lot all that time? That must have been a heck of a charge. Plothole! Everybody drink.

The real question is why do the breakup in the first place if not to free Elizabeth up to be with John. Writerfail! Drink!

Again, writer fail and it just provided more fuel for the haters.

This is where the time factor comes in, but I agree that time didn't have much to do with it. The others we saw in the montage had to lie to their loved ones also. And the scene with John and Ford's cousin shows that his family didn't have a clue.
