when i discovered gateworld, (that was around the time sg-1 season 5 was airing on showtime [so 2001-2002]) i became a massive spoiler fan. everything i could find about upcoming episodes i would look up on this site. but when news of SGA started to leak i was on the site 24/7. i wanted to find out who were going to be the main characters were going to be.

I see what you mean. When I saw Rising I could tell they were trying to ship the lead male with the (exotic) alien woman. However, like Captain Jack tells Will in PoTC in that cave about the lost moment, TPTW lost their moment in Rising as well.

I want my ships to be subtle and not in my face, hence why I have such hate-feels for Sam/Jack (for the record, I also cannot see them together at all). That truly spoiled my SG1 viewing in season 4, and almost made me stop watching the bloody show. Though Daniel/Janet in the background saved it for me. I loved those characters too much to not watch. I'm glad though I stuck it out to the end cause OMGoddess when Vala appears -- a whole new level of feels.

I feel the same way when it comes to my favorite ships.

And, just to be fair, John didn't kiss Elizabeth either. Phoebus, in Elizabeth's body, kissed Thalan, in John's body. So nobody kissed anybody. *nods*

True, though if you just look at the images and not the video their kiss could have been them with the minute long gaze they shared afterwards (before things went to hell that is).

The thing I wonder is how much the others, especially Rodney, teased them about it afterwards. Part of me would also have loved to have seen them talk about it at some point, yet another part of me liked that it might have been something they kept thinking about but sadly never did anything more with.

I would so be doing a fist-pump, but that may just be me.

Hello there ladies and gents! Not that any of you (save possibly Falcies) remembers I exist... but I LIVE! And look, there are people here! This is wonderful!

Normally I'm with you on that one, about ships being in your face. For what ever reason, I loved Sam/Jack. Possibly because it started on a slight antagonistic note. But to each their own.

But just HOW in-your-face John/Teyla started out as made me stick. The fact that a shipping war had been proposed in the preview of the series made me groan. (Though I loved Torri's response to the question- bless her.) It even deterred me from enjoying the show at points. Somewhere around the midseason finale it hit me like a ton of bricks how something more organic was forming between John and Elizabeth. My frustration quickly shifted to: why aren't they taking this seriously? Are they blind?

Normally I'm a multishipper, but these two quickly became are rare true OTP for me. Or at least as close as anyone could. ('Cause ...O/T...I'm totally fine with Evan getting in on that in any way he so chooses. Couldn't tell you why. Just am.)

I'm trying to blend two texture layers together, and I'm wondering if it's possible to do it in a manner similar to a gradient? I'm trying to see if it's even an option to use the layers themselves, but so far, no luck...

Use a layer mask and gradient. Layer one picture on top of the other. Apply a layer mask to the top picture. Set your gradient to black/white or black/transparent. Make sure you are working on the mask, pull the gradient over the area you want to "disappear". You will end up with a very clean and subtle blend transition between the upper and lower pictures.
