There's only one fic so far in my writing carreer that I was afraid to post and show to the public cause I was absolutely sure I had crossed so many lines and overdone the angst and whump so bad that I'd get shot down for it. And at the same time, it's a fic I'm actually quite proud I dared to write it.

Madness reigns, your newest artwork is AWESOME! The greens and golds look fantastic together and really make Sparky pop with festive joy. In other news, I am very sorry to hear about your grandfather; I lost both of my grandmothers not too long after Christmas (though many years apart), so I know how hard it is especially at this time of year. ***BIG HUGE HUGS***

honestly....just about done with my fic...lol but i forgot to say this earlier....

RE: the whole "end of the world"-ness. I seriously thought about hiding the boys' gifts and telling them I didn't go shopping b/c the world was supposed to end and we weren't gonna have Christmas this year.

I'm also considering just giving them the DS accessories I've gotten them and withholding the DS's themselves and going "Aw, I knew I forgot something!"

My kids have pretty awesome senses of humor...they'd think it was funny....and they'd know I was lying cuz I'm horrible at it LOL

I've snurched the textures from various websites. If you go to Google Images and search for "texture backgrounds" you'll find a lot. There are also various people, some on the forum, that will let you search. If you ask permission, of course.

And sure! Just let me fix Carson's legs and add a signature, and you can use it!

If you're making your own, good idea to use a 1280x800 canvas, since that's the usual for a widescreen monitor.

In photo-editing programs such as Photoshop or GIMP - the latter is a free software package provided by Google while the first is not free and is a part of the Adobe Creative Suite. The latter is easy to use, the first requires a little more effort.

@Sparky She-Demon: I've been working with Gimp for a little under two months now, and for someone like me, who is a complete beginner at graphic art, it is very easy to learn. There are some great tutorials online to help you learn, and I highly recommend the Gimp for Beginners tutorials at Gimped!. I was able to learn from those tutorials alone, and I made my current signature using Gimp with ShipperWriter's help. If you would like to give Gimp a try, I say go for it! I'd be very willing to help you if you need it, though ShipperWriter is the expert here. I think that she'd be willing to help you, too, if you ask nicely.

Mmm... I love angst too. And I love me some whump, psychological whumpage for the win. Putting my characters through the wringer gives me the power to explore their inner depths even more.
I like to explore them as much as possible really. However, I also like writing fluffy and light, romantic and funny... and generally amusing situations. Although, as I notice once again, I like having lots of characters around, and whenever I can add those whom are usually forgotten in fic, that makes me happy too.

Also, I'm about to post my Advent fic - however, I'm ahead of most of you so I guess you won't find it until later today for me, possibly tomorrow for the rest of you.

I enjoy reading short fics that are light-hearted and funny, and I'll might also take a chance at following longer ones if they have a very good plot. I'll read angst once in a while, but no smut, crack, slash, or anything with explicit content for me - I prefer my fics to stay PG-13 and stick closely to canon (the latter may be the reason why I love Atlantis Rising so much! )

Ah, then I'll never found you among my reviewers... canon is kind of hard to stick to with my favorite character(s) dead and two (of many) ships that aren't in any way canon.

I was really angry when he first took them. and sad. and bitter. and angry. but I've changed my outlook on the situation and know that *I* didn't do anything wrong and that in the long run everything will work out. It's been a good test in patience for me.

I'm anxious for them to get here now tho! LOL
