I also quite liked Rodney/Katie. Then he was so obnoxious in Quarantine that I was glad they broke up.

See, how clever John is diverting the attention away from Elizabeth's slip-up.

    Oh John.

SGC! LOL! Also, I like that 'cause Grace is -my- middle name, and one of my friends has taken to calling me Samantha even though it's not really my name, so Samantha Grace Carter is awesome.

Wow, that's a beautiful name! Just out of curiosity, do you by any chance have a source to confirm that? If not, I'll just take your word for it.

It has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? Samantha Grace.
Daniel: You know referring to yourself in the third person is a sign of mental instability right?
McKay: Yeah, mentally unstable like a FOX!

O'neill: Carter, I should be irked currently, yes?!

            Elizabeth: I'm not going anywhere
John: good, wouldn't be the same without you

Carson: You have a date Rodney? With a woman?

As I recall, I think they were originally thinking of Ben Browder for Sheppard. But then they were later able to get him for Mitchell. I think it worked out better that way.

Pretty sure I saw it somewhere here on GateWorld...

ETA: Found it! It's in GW's Production Notes for "Rising":

Elizabeth Weir, first created for Stargate SG-1's "Lost City," was originally "Teresa Wright," then "Teresa Weir." The same character was played by actress Jessica Steen in the SG-1 Season Seven finale.

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon. Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.

Weee! One last thing before I head to bed! So remember when I said I'd written some lame fics, and that I'd post some eventually? Here's the latest one I'm attempting, it's just some really really short random subtle fluffy thing set sometime in early season 3. It's not finished, but I'm not quite sure where I was going with it, so tell me if I should finish or not
It's really not very good at all, not as some of you talented story-crafters, but it probably won't have any permanent damage on your eyes. Like it? Hate it? Let me know!

                Spoiler:
Elizabeth sighed, "Remind me why I'm here again, Colonel?"
"Because," John replied, "we've gotta figure out why power's not getting to this section of the city."
"And the reason somebody else couldn't go with you?"
"Because, McKay's in the infirmary trying to convince Carson he'll die from some papercut, and Teyla and Ronon are trading offworld. So." She let the subject drop, and he was glad. Technically, he could've asked one of the many other personnel in Atlantis to accompany him, but it was his personal goal to get Elizabeth out of her office for at least one hour each day. He'd take what he could get, even if they were both miserable.

Now, Elizabeth and John were trekking down a long corridor in the lower levels of the city's far east section, the only light available coming from their flashlights, looking for who-knows-what that was causing the problem. On the bright side, maybe they'd only have to find a switch to flip.
On the dark side, that probably wasn't it.
Knowing their luck, the lack of power was probably due to some obscure device that McKay would go nuts over. Or some well-intentioned invention that would end up risking everyone's life. Maybe they'd find another body in stasis. Elizabeth from the future this time.

"Knock-knock," John smirked. Elizabeth raised The Eyebrow. "Never-mind."
A few moments passed by before he tried again, "I spy?"
Elizabeth blinked in the darkness, "That was a joke, right?" she asked, shining her flashlight on his face briefly.
He shrugged, "Alright....if you were stuck on a deserted island, what one item would you bring with you?
She chuckled (another personal accomplishment for him today). "um...a book?"
"...Okay. Better than Ronon's answer. 'A boat'....Which book?"
"Hmm," she pursed her lips for a moment, "'Pride and Prejudice'."
                "Ah. Jane Austen. Not bad."
She raised both Eyebrows this time. "You've read it?"
                "Hey. Don't sound so surprised."
"Sorry...Just didn't think you'd be an Austen fan."
"Well...I've got....layers," that smirk again. "Like an ogre."
                Elizabeth frowned. "What?"
                "Shrek."
"Oh...right. I never saw that movie."
John frowned and shined his light in her eyes, "EVERYBODY saw that movie!"
"sorry," she squinted at the glare and pushed his arm away,"I was a little busy with international treaties at the time."
..."I guess that's understandable....Hold on, you've seen Toy Story, right?"
                "Yes, I'm not crazy, Colonel."
                "Just checking."

That little bit of fluffy fic was adorable, and you absolutely must write more. Trust me, I'm The Editor. *waves red pen* Seriously, don't put down your writing ability. I saw very little that I would change in that fic. You'll find that fandom is very kind to writers, especially in threads like this. We support anyone who attempts to write Sparky fic, and speaking only for myself, I give praise where praise is due. If I'm silent, you know I'm trying to not say anything negative. LOL But I definitely see promise in your writing. More please.

agree Joe was the better candidate for Sheppard. and im glad they went with Elizabeth. John and Teresa doesn't sound right. was John Sheppard the only name they picked for that character or were there more?

..."I guess that's understandable....Hold on, you've seen Toy Story, right?"
                        "Yes, I'm not crazy, Colonel."
                        "Just checking."

I always really liked Katie and Rodney, I felt as if she had the ability to make him more humble.

Up until then at least, it was a pretty awful way to treat someone you’ve dated for as long as they have, I mean even if he wasn’t ready to get married she deserved to have him tell her in a more mature and a better way and he should have really talked to her. Instead she became another person we never saw or heard from again.

Elizabeth Weir, first created for Stargate SG-1's "Lost City," was originally "Teresa Wright," then "Teresa Weir." The same character was played by actress Jessica Steen in the SG-1 Season Seven finale.
That was it, that’s where I read it I just didn’t remember that it was Teresa.

Well we all know Rodney's not exactly the tactful one around women...as evidenced by Carson's reaction to Rodney having a date at the beginning of "Duet"

You have a DATE, Rodney? With a WOMAN?

It's just two mature adults--Yes, with a WOMAN!

Very true, he wasn’t exactly known for his tact however I just thought that after spending over two years with someone they deserved that he at least tried to talk to her, he didn’t even say that he was sorry.

Thanks! I'm very glad that they changed it to Elizabeth, but Elizabeth Teresa Weir sounds beautiful. Maybe I'll adopt it in my "headcanon" as Elizabeth's full name, too.

MentallyUnstableFox, you must continue! I love how you've stayed true to the characters' personalities, which is my first priority when I attempt to write fanfic. After that, I worry about the plotline, which more or less falls into place if you can nail characterizations first. You definitely have much potential to write amazing Sparky fanfic, so please don't give up on this!
