Well, as you know, ultimately that will be me. If you prefer, I will go over it first before we hand it off to the others so you won't get multiple corrections of the same things. Then they can find any mistakes I miss. SK has a particularly sharp eye, as does Eri. I'm thinking it will be mostly the articles. You have better grammar than most native speakers. *glares at the public schools*

Never mind... Brie said it already, no need to repeat it.

Sounds like a plan, because I know I'm in good hands Also, it could be good to get the grammar out the way before we/I start editing the content stuff. I hope there won't be too much work, tho, just the polishing for the shiny final effect.

Wanna put that pencil to work? I could send you one big chink of stuff in half an hour maybe. You can unleash it on my grammar as I work on part deux, which I'll send you by Sunday - maybe even before Sunday. That way I can fix the grammar and send it forward to content and continuity betas.

Here's a small snippet that I've written previously, and I'm quite fond of it.

                Spoiler:
“Box of dreams,” Teyla read, staring at the writing directly above Rodney's head. Rodney looked up, then down onto the data padd in his hand.

“Yes, um, that term seems to repeat a couple of times,” Rodney turned to her, and looked at her like he was acknowledging her presence only now. “Didn't know you could read -” he gestured around the room.

Teyla felt the familiar pang of regret as she looked at him, as she could safely guess what he was thinking while he was giving her that uncommon, vulnerable look.

“Elizabeth taught me,” she smiled sadly. “She was translating various files from Ancient's database and she often asked me about various matters or phrases. Most of languages in Pegasus come from Ancient, in one way or another. My people were familiar with some things mentioned in the database. That's how she started teaching me – well, actually, I knew the basics from before, but -”

Rodney nodded quickly. “Yeah, I get it. Lingua Franca.”

                “A what?”

“It's an Earth expression,” Rondey moved forward, perhaps to avoid her gaze, and Teyla didn't really mind. There was too much sorrow around them as it was. “It means universal language. On Earth it was called Latin, and it is related to Ancient.”

“That sounds like we are all connected to each other,” Teyla supplied, walking toward a rear wall and touching the writing lightly. “We seem to share common ancestors. Or at least, they were ancestors to your culture on Earth.”

“A fraction of our culture,” Rodney said.

“And fraction of cultures here. And languages. Scattered pieces,” Teyla said thoughtfully.

Was it so hard to imagine – so far fetched and unacceptable – that Rodney's people were her own people as well? Weren't their destinies connected, just like their languages, like sounds they used to communicate, like legends that spread across galaxies, merely changing shape, but not the most important meaning? Was it truly fair to mark her as a traitor of her people?

“What is this box of dreams?” Teyla finally asked, wishing to change the subject of their conversation. She encountered the term again, written in bold letters above a console that remained lifeless, no matter what she touched.
That was a great little snippet and I’m looking forward to read more.

I remember back when I used to write fanfics (never any SG once but others) and then when I re-read the fics I realized that both my grammar and my spelling sucked, however I’m not an English’s peaking native and I didn’t have it easy with English for a long while (I even had to take extra lessons so that I wouldn’t fall so far behind everyone else) but it did help to write and visit website where people who did have English as their first languish but I’m still not great at it, I mean the ideas where there but then to actually write them wasn’t easy and that is why it’s great to have beta-readers who are willing to help out but at the same time they shouldn’t have to do that much work which is what they would have to do with me *lol*, either way it's great to read pthers fics though, there are just so many of them out there and you can always find tons you like.

I'm not a native speaker either. Reading and especially writing fics has improved my English a LOT and SR can confirm that. She knows me from my beginnings, she saw all my phases, and most of people here have as well. Thank you, I'm glad you liked the snippet and I hope you'll enjoy the entire story as well. I'm working on it as we speak.

SR, you have mail. Have fun! (I hope!)

Well, flaily flail flail. I've got 22 pages of Box of Dreams to read and now I have to stop because Mr. SR is due soon. What? Of course I've got my priorities straight. Now I have something to do tomorrow. *dances*

You sound like you want rest of us, wait, them, to feel jealous of you.

I'm not jealous... honestly, not jealous... this may seem strange, but it isn't.

No one's going to believe me, but it's the truth.

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon. Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.
