Elizabeth Weir/John Sheppard Appreciation/Ship/Discussion Thread
*shudders* Actually most guys had those mustaches back in the '70s. Funny how the definition of cool changes over time. Makes me wonder what we have to look forward to.

Sniffing too many paint fumes? Haven't had enough caffeine?
The paint is no-odor, and I had a venti iced vanilla coffee in the morning that lasted for most of the day. So I'm leaning towards the latter.
But seriously need coffee today. Mom is annoying the crap outta me at the moment. Thinking I'm sneaking over to Starbucks and getting a Trenta. It's, like 31oz of yummy goodness.
It's actually funny. I have a friend who is in his early 30s, but still has such a baby face that people easily thought he was 16 or 17, so he grew thay type of mustache so people would think he's older. No wonder I wanna laugh when I see him especially that I'm now associating it with porn star.

In the high school where I was working last year, it felt like many of the kids were trying to bring back the 70s with the haircuts and the clothing and the YOLO (you only live once) attitude. They didn't quite get it.

That's a LOT of coffee.

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon.Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.
That would require a person to read the fic which I'm not interested in doing... I was only reading the comments talking about the whole gen-question.
What she said.
Did you folks know that Joe Mallozzi is discussing SGA, ep by ep on his blog starting here? So far I have found this little Sparky tidbit. Admittedly only Sparky to us, but still. He hasn't mentioned any ship yet.
Aside from that rubber bug, I thought that this was a pretty solid episode which left one big question maddeningly unanswered: What WAS Sheppard going to say to Weir in those final moments

I think that’s something we’ve all wondered about, my theory always was that probably some kind of thank you that had to do with him getting to come to Atlantis because to me John always seem like he was in a pretty not bad place but not the best place emotionally in the beginning of ‘Rising’ and Elizabeth asking him to come to Atlantis as a part of an expedition not only gave him a second chance but to also do good and do what he did best and then once he arrived on Atlantis he also felt probably for the first time in a while that he was home and that he had people that cared for him and I think that for him Elizabeth was the reason for that. Now there might have been something else but I also felt that it might have been too soon for anything really shippy, but then again, with TPTB you’ve more time than not have had to read between the lines to understand things and they really could have meant anything by that, however one have to admit that the fact that he singled out her to talk to and not anyone else, and then also that everyone almost looked a bit uncomfortable to be listening in might mean something else.
It's called the endless possibilities of a writer's imagination.
And writers are allowed to do whatever they like. But I think sometimes the problems start when they don't note it, or warn readers right off the bat, if their fic is going in what some might call a bizarre direction. Someone that I'm friendly with on Twitter, and on the forum as well, prefers that John is not shipped in any way. And she was ranting because she started reading a fic and got quite a few chapters in, only to find that the author suddenly threw in a ship.
Like I said, we're all entitled to think/feel/do whatever we want, but when we get curve balls like that -- *points at John!stache* -- then the pitchforks come out.
And my local Lowes Hardware has wifi. How cool is that?! We had to come get more paint.
Yup, I agree with the above. As long as fics are appropriately tagged, all is well with the world and you can go and ignore the ones you have no interest in, or have to reach for a bottle of bleach to remove the unwanted imagery when author's spring unwanted surprises on their readers...
Heightmeyer's Lemming -- still the coolest Lemming of the forum

I have lost track of the number of bottles of brain bleach I've had to use thanks to fanfic.
I tell you Teal'c, hockey is the coolest game on Earth!
