As to WonderCon, there's a few things on my list that I'd like to see, but the really big must-dos are TheOneRing.net's preview of The Hobbit on Friday and Fox's preview of Prometheus and Q&A with Ridley Scott on Saturday. Good times.

So I was searching Google Images for pictures of John in jeans doing research for my story when I came across this lovely fic.

Remember the panda shirt John wore in "The Shrine" when Rodney's freaking out?

*considers audience* Okay, maybe not. But in any case, this story is a very plausible background fic for John. It gives some background ideas for college and how John could be self-sufficient having burned the bridge with his family. It's called "Token of Appreciation" and it made me wanna cry. Not kidding.

You've never seen "Alien"?!? It's a science fiction classic! (and in part inspired some of the look and feel of SGA Season 3's "Vengeance," so you really should try to see it. Mark my words, we will be snarking over this big-time when we get to the "Vengeance" post-a-thon! ) Just don't watch it alone at night, because you WILL scare the snot outta yourself. I've seen that movie so many times and I STILL jump at certain parts, even though I know they're coming.
