I added one too. I can think of tons more, without even stretching.

Never seen it before, so it's no one I know. But it's good!

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon. Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.

I started my S4/S5 re-watch tonight, beginning with First Strike (yes, dear readers I know that's S3 - but it seemed like a good place to start). I'll post my random thoughts to my LJ tomorrow, I guess.

But anyway, I watched Conversion afterwards to get the stench of First Strike out of my head. Did Caldwell have the Goa'uld inside his head by that episode? Did they ever give a timeline for that? And this does relate to Sparky, because I'm wondering if Caldwell's flirting in that episode was really him or not.

The only reference to a timeline was in "Critical Mass" itself, when Cadman discovers the gap in the computer records (which was the tip off to the sabotage); she says it occurred "several weeks ago." The last time we saw Caldwell prior to "Critical Mass" is "The Hive," so that would seem to be the most likely point that he could've accessed the computers. It's certainly possible he could've been snaked as early as "Conversion."

Hm. Don't know the author, but not a bad video. I think this song would make an awesome video trailer for our season six.
I'm not weird, I'm limited edition.

I'd never heard of them, but I really like that song.

Will do, after 1:11pm that is.

Are we keeping the Sparky moments to once/day or can we just vote as much as we want to. It's just us and not a contest, so I wouldn't think it would matter.

I certainly don't have an objection. Post as many per day as you like.

Oh this is really interesting - I never actually considered it before, but I ahve a feeling Caldwell was Caldwell in Conversion. On some other show we would have seen when exactly he was snaked, because it's quite an important bit. But. You know how SGA writers are. LOL.

                        Heh!

Yeah, while it's possible Caldwell had already been snaked in "Conversion," I think that may be a bit too early. My personal take on it is that the Trust grabbed him and snaked him, then on his next trip to Atlantis he snags a copy of the Atlantis operating system and brings it back to the Trust. They recode it, then on his next trip back to Atlantis, he uploads the sabotaged copy of the OS. Including travel time and however long it took for the Trust to do their programming while the Daedalus was being loaded for that last supply run, it probably took about a couple of months. I'm thinking he might have been snaked closer to "Aurora."

I'm not sure there's any way to tell for sure because I think he needed to act like Caldwell would in normal situations anyway. I'm still wondering why he didn't try to ensure the bomb went off at the beginning of the episode by making a dramatic pause before deciding to send Atlantis a message. Considering how close they were to pressing the gate button, that's probably all he would have needed for it to work.
"First Weir, then Samantha Carter, and now, you! It's a pity you humans die or get reassigned so easily, or I might have a sense of satisfaction now!"

*You got the touch! You got the poweeeeer!*

                          "Arise, Woolseyus Prime."

I say he was hit with the Gou'ld right before "Conversion". You noticed that he had fishy behavior when he was taking John's place as CO aboard Atlantis, and Elizabeth caught that as well.

Um, no, I wouldn't say that. He wanted John's spot from the get-go. I didn't find him out of character at all in Conversion. I'd rather say he learned to respect the unusual way Atlantis base was functioning, and also learned to respect both John and Elizabeth. Or perhaps, he respected Elizabeth and extended that to John, because Elizabeth trusted John in everything, and I think thatw as quite enough to Caldwell. His position changed over the course of the season, in a reasonable and logic way.
