You know, Gateraid greened me not too long ago for a post I made about John and Elizabeth back in the Ghost in the Machine page which would have been the first post I made here on the subject. Or at least the first one I remember. This would have been just a couple months after I joined back in late 2008.

I didn't start posting in here until a year later. I guess that would have been almost a year and a half ago now.

I still have a record of them because I kept of a log of the green I received from both of those posts the first time (or later times) around. Everyone really especially appreciative from around these parts.

So yeah, this was quite a little while ago now.

I didn't really get into what I found out was called "Sparky" very much until after Torri Higginson left the show and I showed up on gateworld during the timezone between Seasons 4 and 5 to talk about them and the rest of SGA and SG-1. That was when I started watching the show as it aired rather than on the whole DVD sets of each season.

"First Weir, then Samantha Carter, and now, you! It's a pity you humans die or get reassigned so easily, or I might have a sense of satisfaction now!"

*You got the touch! You got the poweeeeer!*

    "Arise, Woolseyus Prime."

    "Elizabeth..."

Oh right, yeah... you're of the new batch of Gateworldians.

Err... there's probably a record somewhere of when exactly I got the idea and when I executed the idea, but it took me a little over 6 months I think to complete the task. Which basically means I started watching from the beginning and went all the way through to the end.

I watched every episode as many times as there were main characters, plus Kate, Ford, Keller in season 4 to make the comparison with Teyla. Basically I have seen every episode of Atlantis a minimum of 5 times. Irresistable was the most difficult one to do because it drove me stir crazy and in Remnants I had to start again timing Woolsey because I got distracted by Anna Galvin.

Maybe I should have done a commentary of my counting and timing...

I have those files still lying around if you're interested.

I also cut out Carter and/or Keller out of the episodes for those that didn't want to watch the episodes with them in it.

If the movie ever gets made, I'll probably take up my timer again and do that too.

        Spoiler:

K (in a hushed voice) - Does he realize we know he's right behind us?
E (whispering back) - No. I keep thinking some day I'm going to just stop abruptly and catch him tailgating.
J (in his head) - I can SO hear them.

OMG the squee-age going on for the HUG! It broke GW! And then there's always a troll. Why people find it enjoyable to be like that, I have no idea.

It does make me think how fun it would have been if I'd been around in those days. On the one hand, I didn't have to do my Elizabeth mourning in real-time with the show, but I didn't get to squee in chorus with everyone else either.

Gosh my first post was congratulating you all on JF's handing out the Rising cards. Knowing now that my nickname can mean something else, I'm surprised you all were polite enough to not tell me to take a flying leap!
*gazes into crystal ball* No, I got nothing new. I should have marked that on my calendar because I was mostly wrong about everything else I predicted. The no more stick fighting thing came about when I read that JF said he hated the stick fighting and was only going to do it with Teyla until he could beat her. I did notice though, that he fought with Ronon a few times after that. I think I also heard that Rachel got whacked a few times. Better that be Jason, I guess. LOL

FH probably remembers back in the anti-S4 thread days when I predicted how the ship would go. The signs were all there. TPTB were telegraphing their intent but thankfully, I was wrong so very wrong.

Sorry, I didn't see this before my last post. It was indeed fun in those days mainly because we got sooooo much more than we expected. That hug was just the catalyst that launched the Sparky nation and every week after that almost we got a scene that just blew us away. How were we not supposed to think it was being done on purpose?

I go back and forth about thinking they did occasionally know what they were doing. I've lurked in other Elizabeth ship areas, and there seemed to be a consensus that the Sparky was blatant and sometimes over the top. So, which is it? Not there, or blatant? It can't be both. I suppose it could be blatant to everyone but TPTW.

I feel like the Spark(y) needs to be rekindled, not for me but for a friend.

Except I have no idea how to do that really...

However, I believe an all-out interactive event in which you can participate. In which creativity, the ability to discuss/appreciate/ship is put to the ultimate test ... where the glory of Sparky is celebrated, the likes which were never seen before.

I know there isn't anything new on the front of SGA - except for Rising - but that doesn't mean you can't reminisce on the old and rejuvenate it with a new passion, a new Spark.

You could stretch your writing muscles by going episode by episode, pick a moment to your liking that you want to discuss or write about. Add a scene or throw one out the window. Graphics like wallpapers, icons, banners... can be made and shared. Anything is possible!

And yup, this probably does mean there would have to be a rewatch - how about 2 episodes a week or something, and on Lazy Sunday everyone posts there contribution after which there's a whole week to discuss, appreciate and ship the Spark to death.

But that's just an idea from the Lemming, whose OTP could do with a similar idea except that rewatching 5 episodes ends a little sooner than the 62 Sparky ones.
Good ideas Falcon! ♥ A diversion such as this would be wonderful.

I have a fluffy preview offering for you guys, theres a bit of Overprotective!John in the passage, yummy:

                        Spoiler:
Elizabeth smiled and began walking over to his side. John had already draped a hand over the side of the tub for her to hold.

"Well this is a surprise," she said. As she walked closer to him she noticed that the wrinkles that had appeared during the feeding had vanished. She knew Carson was trying some experimental treatment on John that could possibly get rid of the aged appearance. She didn't keep her hopes up that the procedure would work. But she was glad it did, not that it seemed to matter to her what he looked like as long as he was alive.

“What that a tough manly man like me actually takes baths?” He replied his lips curling into a small smile. She inwardly sighed, it wasn’t his true smile.

“No,” She said sitting on the edge of the tub, “I am surprised you are up this late, you need your rest.”

His hand quickly searched for hers. Within seconds she felt vice grip wrap around her hand. It wasn’t to hurt her, but to send a clear message...he was terrified. He was afraid that if were to let go she would disappear. He above all feared to be alone. But he wouldn’t admit that right away, it wasn’t in his character.

“Teyla suggested I take a bath to relieve my tension,” He replied, “and I don’t have a bathtub like you do.”

                        Elizabeth raised her eyebrow.

“At 3 in the morning,” She inquired.

                        Silence.

John just turned his head away and gazed at the ornate marble wall adjacent to the left side of the tub. Elizabeth made a deep sigh and her fingers reached around to lightly grip his chin. As she pulled gently pulled his face his face towards her, she felt him shudder. A quiet wince left his lips as he closed his eyes. He didn’t want them to reveal the fear coursing through his body.

“John,” Elizabeth whispered stroking his cheek with her thumb. His body had quickly begun to relax by then, “what you went through today was most likely the most terrifying thing you will ever experience. It’s okay to be scared.”

“Can you stop worrying about me?” John whispered, quietly opening his eyes. Elizabeth opened her mouth to speak but when he gazed at her with such desperation. “I mean I am a bit shaken but….”

As he paused from uttering his train of thought, she pulled his head gently towards her and rested it against her chest. She began running her fingers through his thick dark hair. For some odd reason it had been a calming mechanism for her, because of the ways she could explore the thick locks with her questing fingers. She heard a deep sigh leave his lips before he lifted his head to gaze into her eyes.

“I am more worried about you,” He whispered resting his hand on her thigh, “through my pain I heard only one thing….your voice. As sick as it sounds hearing the sadness and desperation in your voice as you begged Kolya to stop the pain surging through me was more agonizing than that thing eating off me itself.” He paused as the grip on her hand became….a little tighter. “And at the end of it when that ******* was taunting you….I wanted to rip off the binds and wring his neck.”

*snerks* That's pretty much par for the course.

And now, to this week's SGU for Atlantis Rising report on #2.12 "Twin Destinies":

                          Spoiler:
Basically nothing, again. There was one brief exchange between T.J. and Lt. Vanessa James about how McKay kept staring at James's ass (I would assume this happened before those now on Destiny went to Icarus Base).

The preview for next week's episode ("Alliances") was rather jumbled, with no overt indication of the Lucian Alliance attack we're now assuming is going to happen in that episode. There is a mention of a bomb and a shot of some weird device with pinkish light/energy in it, which I'm assuming is the bomb in question. Maybe my theory about the "attack" actually being more of a raid (presumably on Homeworld Command, based on the episode teaser that was posted some weeks ago) is on the right track...

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon. Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.
