I have a smutty fic rec for everyone. "Bittersweet Symphony"by ed_84. It's an NC-17 fic that's a Return AU. To me this is clearly what would have happened if they hadn't returned to Atlantis.
*Rings Siren* OOC Alert OOC Alert. Even though John didn't agree with decisions he didn't find them wrong. And seem we have the common trait of reading trainwrecks of pairings

My opinion based on what I've heard about the books is that they're a train wreck I will have no trouble looking away from.

I liked that fic, but it needs a sequel. Badly.

I've wondered about that, myself. It really fits, especially with all the other personal moments we've seen, how Carson was always flying Teyla over to the mainland so she could visit the Athosian camp, etc. It's kinda too bad the timing of "Sunday" prevented Carson from being the father of Teyla's baby. That would've been a wicked twist. Tragic, but wicked.

          Sunday - Lazy day
          Monday - Canon day
          Tuesday - Smut day
Wednesday - (screw the) Angst day
          Thursday - Fluff day
          Friday - Pretty day
          Saturday - Sparky!family day
And the 18th of every month is "Sparky Day," where basically, anything goes. Though we keep forgetting this one. (We chose the 18th because "The Real World" first aired on August 18, 2006)

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon. Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention. I certainly won't be getting them. I've only gotten books with Elizabeth as she's really my favorite character. Sure I can read through a weird fan fic that takes me about 5 minutes, to observe the wreck. But a whole book? Uh, no.

Alrighty for anyone who wants to try it, I am going to issue a Sparky Fan Fic Challenge for any of you Sparky writers including myself who are bored and want to write some Sparky fluff or Angst (The idea of issuing a Challenge was too tempting not to turn down):

The TLE (Tender Love and Elizabeth) Challenge

Your challenge if you so accept is to write a fic where John gets whumped and Elizabeth has to take care of him, it can be anything from fellowing a home care regiment or give him a nice warm bath.

              3 Guidelines

              1) Nothing corny as John skins his knee nothing as serious as John having a head injury and is therefore in a coma something in the middle of those two scenarios.
              2) It has to be a made up scenario, nothing episode based. For example you can't use the events in the aftermath of Common Ground but you can borrow my idea of Kolya torturing John with an Iratus bug.
              3) It can be multi chaptered but nothing exeeceding over 5 chapters.......don't drive yourself crazy by writing a novel. Also it can be any rating you like.

Above all have fun! Hopefully we get to see a variety of neat fics using this idea!

Not to mention, fanfic is free, so if you didn't like the story, at least you won't feel like you wasted good money.

Grrrrr....I hate autorecovery- I just lost 3 pages of fic. To cheer myself up I went to youtube. This is kind of cute, but I must admit I'm not entirely sure who all they are trying to ship- everyone and then some again- but there are some cute sparky moments (especially John's eyebrow about the 2:24 mark)

Thanks SK for sharing the days, I will keep them in mind

Exactly, like the Season 4 DVDs that I got. I'm still working through the special features, and still getting pissed off about them. But I spent the money, so I'm going to watch them no matter how annoyed I get.

In other news, I was watching "Psych" on Netflix, and one S1 eppy had them going to a Comic-Con of sorts ... David Nykl was the events coordinator, promoting Star Trek.

Oh crap! That sucks about the fic! *hugs*

Heh, pretty funny video! Ah, I so love John's version of the Eyebrow of Doom.

That was one of the reasons why I never bought the S4 DVDs, even though Torri is on them. I suppose I could just buy the individual episodes on iTunes, though...

Carson and Teyla, i.e.Paul and Rachel, had such nice screen chemistry. I wonder why they didn't do more with them. But then I remember the comment by one of TPTB, probably Gero, that there was a hug between them after the events of CW but they decided against it because fans would think it was shippy. Which makes me wonder. Are all writers so shortsighted? They just get an idea in their heads and won't let go of it no matter if it sinks their show. They must spend their spare time trying to force square pegs into round holes.

You're actually making me enjoy the plot of EatG. So major props to you!!

"Zelenka is smarter than you are!"

And the GitM scene - that's the same one I picked. I also think she was a copy, but still a copy with Elizabeth's memories, so... very painful for both of them. I liked how you dealt with the group of them in your Big Bang fic. I've read a few other fics where it was real Elizabeth, and she ascends. That whole "machines can't ascend" thing seemed really wrong somehow, to me. Humans are machines too, in a way.

Good!! I am SO embarrassed about it! It's just based on my initials (I wasn't feeling very creative that day, or most days - why I don't write fic). I'll keep the name, as long as you all know that I think John belongs with Elizabeth, period.

Cool! Now I'm on a mission to find all the others! You are a very brave and patient soul to have written up Irresponsible. You deserve some kind of medal for that!

                              Fun!! Thanks!

That's in my top 5. Lizzie and John both being smart, and Lizzie carrying for the win!! I think Torri was thinking "ok Joe's gonna drop me so I'd better hang on!". Oh yeah, in the commentary one of the guys says about that scene "it's like An Officer and a Gentleman"! Hahahahaa!

Oh, and to once again prove my Sparky-ness, I come to you with a fic rec. "Midnight Madness" by "Mama Jo". It's short, fluffy, and funny. Shoot, is it smut day? Ok I'll find some smut to rec.
The 'less than fun' episodes turned out much more like Zero Point Snark than true recaps. I think we all had fun sort of abusing them.

Okay, Meme--catching up to stay with Kitty:

Day 4: A character you wish Kolya would kill

Y'know, it's not far off in terms of plot for this to have happened, so I'll go with Lucius Lavin. Why? Because it would have been great to see him die at the hands of Kolya. I understood the snake oil salesman thing for Irresistable, but why was he back in Irresponsible? I never got the appeal. To see him die in a humorous way would have been awesome.

Day 5: Your favorite pics of your ships

                              Oh, geez...um...it's a tie?

The Real World End Scene: Because John sparkles, and there is no denying how happy he is to see her.

And then this one--this for some reason is iconic sparky for me. Perhaps because there's a little fairytale element in how she's standing, how perfect their heights are, the way the stair lights frame behind them, etc:

Day 6: A scene that had you laughing so hard you had to pause

Hmm. Off the top of my head, the scene with Rodney and John shouting in Echoes because their eardrums are busted. That is too hysterical for me.

Day 7: A scene you had to pause during to remind yourself it’s not real

Uh, this doesn't really happen to me because I sort of live by logic and the whole thing is sort of a TV show, so I never suspend reality, my brain doesn't work that way. How about if I go with a scene that looked real enough to me? I would say the fly-through during The Return, Part II--the City looked pretty darn real in that sequence.

Day 8: An Episode you've watched more than three times

Am I limited to one? I've run the DVD with The Eye on it to death; also, Echoes, Submersion, The Siege III, Intruder, The Real World, Common Ground, to name a few.

I reread the ZPS recap of Misbegotten yesterday just for lols. Still hysterical. And interesting reading her account at that point in time. Some of the little comments about Elizabeth are very sad in retrospect. In those days, none of us dreamed how it would turn out.

That scene at the end of TRW gives us so much insight into John's head. It's one of the Sparkiest scenes ever and needs no special glasses or squinting. Though I suppose you could say he's just checking to make sure she's not gonna bug out and lose it again. Or that he is telling her to get over it. *puts on devil's advocate hat*

Elizabeth: I can't believe I was only out for 5 hours.
John: Jeeze Elizabeth, get over it already. Everything is not about you. Now, me, I turned into a bug.

Then, OTOH, John also says "I could be infected right now, which makes me the one ...". Now I wonder what he was going to say? Did he mean this would make him the one imagining being on the balcony with her? Interesting.

Okay, enough snark. Going to dry my hair now.
