Elizabeth Weir/John Sheppard Appreciation/Ship/Discussion Thread
Good morning, Sparkies! Happy Screw the Angst Wednesday from rainy Southern California!
Hiya Probie! Christmas was good! Finally saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and ate a ton.
Re: the books... Sadly, they don't seem to realize that they're supposed to be writing the books that will appeal to the entire fandom, not just their small faction of choice.
You and me both. We're doing Atlantis the right way... At least Joe Flanigan loves us!
*snickers* "Hinky." I always liked that word.
I love hinky. It describes so many things in so many ways.
And yeah, I forgot to mention our biggest fan.

Hello, fellow Sparkies! *waves* Feels like long time no see.
A belated to everybody! Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. There's been so much snow!!
Let's see... I've been lurking and keeping up, but I honestly can't remember if there's anything in particular I need to respond to, so if there is, sorry. Oh, I remember one! FH, you had asked a while ago for the logo I had made for the Atlantis Rising banners. Do you still need it?
Heh! Speaking of our biggest fan, I've been seeing a bunch of commercials for Joe's new movie, 'Change of Plans,' on the Weather Channel. I dunno why seeing them on the Weather Channel amuses me so, but it does.

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon.Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.
*waves to Erin* Hiya! Hope you had a good Christmas!

I heard about that. And according to Brooke White it was on during Glee. That excites me too for the sheer #'s that saw it even if it was a rerun. Do you realize that more people have now seen him than all 5 years put together on SyFy? The viewership of TWC alone during the big storm was probably upwards of a gazillion. I'm thinking with the family friendly aspect of COP they are aiming for the older demographic. They should also be on Hallmark, Lifetime, TMC, TVLand and all those family oriented channels. I'm beginning to have a really good feeling about this. I also heard it has a full page ad in TV Guide.

Okay, maybe not from the Fic Bunny Gods, but my fic bunnies are pretty pious. Anyhow ... Chapter 10 of "Everybody's Fine" is up! And, TLM, you might enjoy this, it has a bit of Shep!Whump in it. But he was asking for it, literally!
Hope you enjoy, now back to dinner and writing some more of my other fic!
Oh SW this is exactly why I love you. You know just what I like.....Sparky with Whump!

Full page ad in TV Guide? Oooh!
I've got a good feeling about this, too. I think people really want to see more wholesome programming on TV. Joe, being a family man himself, no doubt feels the same way.

I know I watched 2 episodes of Glee last night (which I've never done before) just to catch a glimpse of those commercials!
Given what I have seen online they probably will get an older demo but there seems to be a heavy campaign to get the young family market watching. They have let multiple bloggers whose focus is on family, children, adoption, motherhood and traditional values pre-screen the movie and have involved them in a WalMart giveaway promotion. Here is one blog that reviewed it, I've read multiple other, similar articles: http://www.onethankfulmom.com/the-da...ange-of-plans/
PS: I'm not sure what days the Weather Channel ads ran, but TVByTheNumbers says they had record viewership over the Christmas weekend. Go Joe!

Oh wow, what a great review. And to all those fans who have been complaining that the movie isn't "realistic", I point you toward this lady and her family. This looks like just the kind of show we need more of on TV and something everyone involved can be proud of. I'm so glad Joe is a part of this.
And yeah, the Weather Channel is always popular during a big blizzard. LOL

I know what you mean. Still no cable at my house *grr* but I went shopping at Walmart and they had a little ad in the corner page, advertising the movie premiere. I was squeeing all the way through the store! ... No wonder the employees were giving me weird looks.
Oh SW this is exactly why I love you. You know just what I like.....Sparky with Whump!
*bows* Thanks!
I think it's my turn now, starting to come down with a sore throat ... ugh. But hey, if I do get sick, leaves me plenty of time for Sparky fics! And going back and rereading the transcripts from S1 and S2. Seems I've forgotten everything that happened over those two years ... everything that has nothing to do with Sparky, I mean.
Hey, anyone in the US in range of a TV, SyFy's going to be showing a rerun of Season 3's Phantoms in 15 minutes! Classic "Lizzeh's worried about John" spidey sense and Shep!whump at its finest!

That is a great review! Sounds like it's hitting just the right note with the target audience.
And the Weather Channel is still running the ad, so keep tuning in, you may catch it.

Heh. See ya later!
Transcripts, bah! Watch the episodes, it's always more fun! Well, for SGA S1-2, that is.

I love that eppy, more for the character background than anything. And, of course, Rodney's continuous grimacing about how John shot him ... how John shot everybody. Heh. I'm evil.
*cackles*

Well, if I had them on DVD, believe you me, I would be watching them. Oh well, may have to give up and borrow from library and then burn the eppys onto my hard drive.

Ha! Me too! He's soooooooooooo cute! And nerdy! Definitely can't wait for this!
