First pic: This is how Joe did his autograph for my little friend. We explained that Colonel Sheppard is his hero but he doesn't know who Joe Flanigan is. So this is how Joe signed it.

And what can I say about this one? I think Joe's shirt was silk. It didn't register at the time but it wasn't cotton and was very silky soft. He was a bit warm and a tiny bit moist here. This was after the real huggy part of the hug. He is about the best hugger I've ever experienced. He puts his whole body into it. John would run screaming. LOL

I said it was my first con. He said "and probably your last". I said no I'm having a great time or something lame. And then I said but I think I need a hug. He said, "of course" sounding, I might add, really Johnlike and my brain cut off right there.

I second the suggestion to send stories to Falcon to look them over.

Yep, through #7, yours! #8 is the second one for Erin, so I wanted to cut it off before people who were just writers felt overwhelmed. Plus, I think 7 is a pretty good number for getting things laid out without getting too far into things. We can see where the characters go before Adoremus.

BTW, Evolution, which is sans a writer ATM, occurs before yours, but I don't see too much happening as far as character evolution (no pun intended). So you should be good, no matter who picks it up.

I'm baaaaacccckkkkk! And still on cloud nine. We did a tour of Chicago yesterday and Mr. SR had to tie a rope to my ankle and pull me along like a giant balloon because my feet were still not touching the ground. LOL

Funny you guys are talking about GitM. I would jump in if I didn't have so much to do but I will say that I met a group of ladies while waiting in one of the lines who all agreed that the proof that John loved Elizabeth was in that episode. And none of them was a shipper. They didn't necessarily see romance but saw the potential for it in the future. So take that for what it's worth.

Eri, I agree on releasing the first 7 eps.

Joe is yummy, but David is just so cute I want to squish him. Almost makes me regret not visiting Dragon*Con this year.

And can I say that I want to melt at how sweet Joe was about your neighbor? That kid is going to treasure that forever, even when he learns the truth.

"How are we any different?"

John looked away, but then turned back at her with a serious face. "Well, for one: we don't eat people."

She gave him a look. "No, but we treat our farm animals the same way as they treat their food."

John opened his mouth, but let out a breath. "Still..."

"We're not so different from animals, John. They have feelings and emotions too. Don't you think a cow isn't scared when it's loaded into the back of a truck? There are animals that, once they find their perfect mate, stay together for the rest of their lives. There are even some that once they lose that mate, will mourn for the rest of their lives and never look for another partner. Now tell me how we are different from the Wraith."

John licked his lips and looked at her intently. "We know true love."

For a moment they did nothing but stare at each other. Until she cast her eyes away. "We do. But we also kill for pleasure, start wars because we think our God is the better one, we violate and mutilate others..."

"Elizabeth..."

She raised her hand. "No matter what you try to say..."

John got up from his spot on the corner of her desk and placed both hands on it, looking very sure of himself.

"We ARE different from the Wraith. Maybe not all of human kind, but WE are. The people here in Atlantis. No one here would ever start a war over a minor disagreement, no one here would kill, violate or mutilate someone else for pleasure... heck, most people here wouldn't even do it if they had no choice but to do it. Look at yourself: you're a vegetarian, balancing on the edge of vegan, more and more people in the world are turning vegetarian and vegan. That means we care. Not only about our fellow humans, but about the animals too. More and more people are shouting for peace and unison in the world. I have never met a Wraith who wore a white flag and preached peace and unison, let alone a Wraith who's trying it the vegetarian way. Some of us may share some of their very bad behavior, but most of human kind are good people and they are trying to make the world a better place."

Elizabeth was silent for a couple of moments, almost awed by John's preaching while he let go of her desk and stood up straight.

"This isn't a black and white world, Elizabeth, it's a grey one and it'll always be a grey one. No one will always be good or always be bad. Heck, I'm sure even Ghandi had his "bad-ass" moments."

She couldn't help but give him a smile.

"But trust me when I say that we as humans are edging a lot more to the good side than the bad side compared to the Wraith. You as a former diplomat should know that."

She nodded. "I do. But what we did today..."

He sat back down on the corner of her desk and interrupted her. "Was necesarry to assure the safety of Atlantis and everyone living here... and besides... I'm quite sure everyone was surprised it wasn't Kavanaugh."

"That's no excuse. I can't dare to imagine what Ronon would have done to him if he hadn't fainted."

John looked around the control room and when he saw no one was watching them, he very gently put his hand on hers. "But Kavanaugh did faint and we found the real perpetrator. Everything turned out ok and no one got hurt. Stop beating yourself up over this. You did the right thing. Everyone in Atlantis will tell you that."

She squeezed his hand. "I'll try."

He gave her a gentle smile. "Good."

Really not bad, but um, why does Elizabeth have to be a vegetarian, bordering on vegan? Not that I oppose that lifestyle, I just don't understand why.

Eri, about the eps, I could put up a section on the website that's only available to the writers. That way we can put eps or parts of eps up there without anyone else being able to access them. That way people writing the third ep, know what's been/being written in the first ep... for example.

He is wearing the white band but it's more of a grey now. LOL He's been wearing that for awhile now.

He was remarkably sweet to do that as he wasn't personalizing at all. But he was sweet with all the kids all day. I saw him with a young handicapped man in the photo session and he was equally good with him. Very personal and making sure to bend over and speak directly to him. Just lovely lovely manners all around with everyone I saw him talk to.

And thanks to both of you but gorgeous and/or cute I left behind years ago. Though I must say we were pleasantly surprised not to be the oldest people there. There were a good number of over 50's. Mr. SR was surprised that it was mostly women. I managed not to say "well, duh".

She knows how the world works and what the major problems are and I think she would know that the meat industry is one of the BIGGEST problems at the moment. Besides that, she fights for a better future and a better human race. I think that she knows that the human race can't better themselves as long as tens of thousand of innocent animals are slaughtered each day just because a piece of meat tastes so good. If she could avoid that kind of unnecessary bloodshed, in my eyes, she would.

And I really hope this post won't get a whole vegan/veggie vs meatlover discussion going, cause I'm not pointing fingers to anyone. I was just explaining how I see Elizabeth and her opinion about it. Btw, she's not pointing fingers either, cause otherwise she wouldn't be falling for John

I have a problem with that because animals can't be equaled to people. IMO. I wouldn't allow anyone calling me an animal, or comparing me to one, and that's why I have a big problem with "we're not much better than animals" argument. It sets me off. An animal could never do my job, or your job. Also, wars, diseases and famine are a much bigger problem than meat industry. IMO of course. Then again, in a place like Atlantis it's much easier to feed people with meat, and keep them fed, especially if they're military and go through vigorous exercise and physical strain. Human body can get needed proteins faster and easier from meat than any sort of vegetable. I tried it, and I know the difference. We're omnivorous.

I agree on the fact that this, more than every other episode, shows how deeply John was in love with Elizabeth and how devastated he is in the end.

Well, we still have our Livejournal which everyone is a part of and which is essentially our building block place, so I'd say if we're going to do something like that, let's do it there. I don't want to forget about it and it has much more information than the website, which I think of as more for the fans learning about the series.

I'm not sure about post and reposting. Writing is such a fickle thing, segments may change before your mind's made up and you may go in a completely different direction after sleeping on your plotline for a night. I'd hate for someone to mention in their story I did 'this' with Teyla only to find out later I cut the scene because I was displeased with it. So rather than get into a whirlwind of confusion, I say we just let people contact each other, here via PM or on LJ, and ask general questions if they have them.

Once we've got the roughs down pat and submitted for the first round of beta-ing, then perhaps we can put up what significant things happened to the characters? That would make everything more solid and a little more sure.

Yeah, you keep threatening to do that but I don't see you at my door. LOL

Also, I'm sure those of you who have been to cons will agree. Once you meet these guys, everybody from Andee Frissell to Chris H to the others, you realize what good actors they all are because they are so very different from the characters. How anybody could get them confused is even more puzzling now. Mr. SR just loved Dan Shea by the way. His stories were really great to listen to. Now he's over on Psych and told us some great stuff from that show.
