(when Teer kisses John)

For a moment, John let it happen because he was too stunned to stop her, but then he finally pushed her away.

"I can't."

Teer looked disappointed and confused. "Why not? I know you want to."

John looked uncomfortable. "Look, you're kind and beautiful and all that, but I... I love someone else."

It felt insanely good to finally say it out loud.

"Elizabeth." Teer stated. "You talk about her a lot."

John nodded.

"What if your friends do not come for you? You have been waiting for a long time now. Do you not think they would have come for you already?"

John looked hesitantly for a moment. "I have to keep my hopes up. I have to keep faith in my friends. I have to keep my trust in Elizabeth up and when I sleep with you..."

"You will have betrayed her." She finished for him.

"That's part of it, but what's more: then I will have made my peace with the fact that I'm stuck here and I can't do that yet."

Teer looked disappointed again. "I think I understand, even though I wanted it differently."

"Sorry to disappoint you."

John was standing on the balcony of his quarters when Elizabeth joined him.

"Hey, I haven't seen you around much since we returned."

"Yeah."

"John, are you ok?"

He sighed and raked a hand through his hair and kept his eyes on the city when he started talking.

"I know it's stupid, but deep down inside I feel like everyone here has betrayed me. I feel like everyone, including you, has failed me. To me half a year has passed while it has only been a couple of hours for everyone here. How does that work for me from now on? Do I celebrate my birthday half a year sooner? But wait, it's not half a year sooner, 'cause no time actually passed here!"

She put a hand on his shoulder and he tensed up. It hurt her, but she couldn't blame him.

"I can't possibly imagine what you're going through, or what it was like to think we left you behind."

"You'd never leave me behind."

She raised her hand to silence him.

"Of course not. But you were stuck there for half a year. You can't tell me you never doubted we would get you out."

He shrugged. "Once or twice."

She gave him a look that told him she didn't believe him.

"Look, even if I thought you guys had left me behind, there was always that little voice in the back of my head telling me it was impossible and no matter what, that little voice would never give up shouting to me."

She gave him a soft smile. "That little voice was right to shout at you... although if you're hearing voices, maybe you should talk to Heightmeyer."

He gave her a laugh and even though it didn't reach his eyes, he slightly relaxed. "Never."

She smiled again and felt relieved the whole ordeal didn't affect him more, although she could tell something was still bothering him. "Is there something else you want to talk about?"

He gave her a hesitant look and it was clear to her he had an inner-conflict about something.

"John?"

He sighed. "You remember Teer?"

Elizabeth nodded. "Of course."

"She... we..."

Elizabeth looked hurt for a moment and John looked more frustrated.

"She came on to me. She kissed me... I..."

"That's ok." Elizabeth said quickly.

"No, it's not. I pushed her away. I couldn't betray you like that."

Elizabeth gave him a tender look and then pulled him in her arms, hugging him tight.

"I don't blame you for anything." She whispered.

"I missed you so much." He breathed in the scent of her and closed his eyes, memorizing her smell, the way her body fitted with his. He tried to burn all those little details into his memory, all the little details that had disappeared from his memory too fast.

She held him close and felt it when it all became too much for him.

"Let it go." She whispered.

John barely realized what happened when tears appeared in his eyes and it all became too much for him, he was back home, back in the arms of the woman he loved and that he thought he would never see again. He was back were he belonged. For the first time in his life, he allowed someone else to see him cry and allowed her to comfort him.

"I thought I lost you." He whispered.

"You know I'll always come for you." She replied and held him closer.

in fact, I always thought the 6 months delay to be exaggerated, and actually liked Teer (although the character seemed much too artificial to me, or at least one-dimensioned, just like all the other waiting-to-ascend characters there)

And, from John's point of view, it should have been waaay too long not to lose faith in being rescued and not to try something, anything. Actually, I can think of a lot of holes in the plot... and that monster ...yuk!

The only things that saved the episode, in my opinion, are the malp on a stick, John's torment in the cage, his attempts to meditate (LOL) and his particular looks

But your sparky ending is just beautiful

So Sorry for being gone so long, but I have been very busy. I'm a Junior now in High School and the classes that I took last year and so far this year are taking up most of my time. DO NOT think I am abandoning this ship; Sparky will always be in my heart. Its just that I am been getting back to Smallville again after years of not being interested in that show. Since Chlollie (Oliver and Chloe) got together last year, Smallville had lured me back in. Chlollie is my new favorite ship and I am rooting for a happy ending for this ship. But do not fret, Sparky will always be #1 in my heart. I will always pop in every now and then when I have time.

I watched Smallville at the beginning and stopped it. Last day, I was watching tv and I saw an episode with them. And I have to admit, they look really good together.

I have to admit, I got such a kick outta seeing Chloe rockin' the green leather jacket in the last episodes of the season. And that episode where Chloe and Oliver were at the same bed and breakfast as Clark and Lois? Epic win.
