SK, that looks great!!! And if you want to get the full-sized thing online, upload it to Picasa, that doesn't make your pics smaller.

And I really can't believe Spain won. I really thought it would a GER-NL final. I really hope Spain will kick Holland's behind

        Part 2 of homework:

        Spoiler:
Ronon and Teyla took their stances, bantos rods held at the ready as they appraised each other. Suddenly, Ronon attacked, grabbing for Teyla’s arm. She bent forwards and avoided the swipe from Ronon’s weapon, then made a series of attacks of her own. They were evenly matched; the sharp rap of the wooden rods hitting each other filled the air. He succeeded in grabbing her hands and swinging her around, but she blocked each of his other attempts to incapacitate her. She blocked his elbow before it could slam into her face and twisted around, freeing herself. He swung at her again and she ducked, spinning and striking out at him; there was a ringing clack as the fighting sticks met.

They backed off, each breathing heavily, and circled each other. Ronon paused a moment, waited for his moment, and then attacked. Teyla blocked the blow, and without warning grabbed each of his arms and slammed her forehead against his. He groaned and tilted backwards, but before he could recover, she used his knee as a platform to launch herself in the air, spun around and kicked him hard in the stomach.

He doubled over and hit the floor, groaning in pain. Teyla watched him lever himself painfully to his feet with satisfaction. “I’m sorry,” she said insincerely, “you weren’t expecting that?” She grinned at the look on his face.

        -o-

Teyla laughed as the two of them walked down the stairs. Ronon was attempting to justify his reasons for being defeated.

“I was tired. Been a long day.”

        Teyla’s mouth quirked. “Hmm!”

They reached the bottom of the stairs and kept walking. He switched subjects. “To be honest, I…”

She interrupted him with a wave of her hand. He had quickly realized the reason for the extra punishment she’d given him in sparring. “…you don’t care much for meditation,” she finished.

“Never could sit still long enough for it.”

Teyla grinned at him. “All the more reason for you to consider…”

Suddenly she stopped, the grin fading as she stared at something down the hallway. The woman in white… It was happening again.

“What is it?” asked Ronon, following her gaze.

The woman marched swiftly down the hallway as she had done before. She spoke again, in the same garbled squeaking language, eyes fixed ahead in some grave purpose. Teyla swallowed. “That woman,” she said quietly.

“What… woman?” Ronon couldn’t see her.

Teyla continued to stare at the white-clad woman. The look on her face was almost frightening and the distorted speech unceasing. Remembering the unpleasant experience of being walked through, Teyla stepped aside to let the woman pass. Teyla glanced up at Ronon as she did so. He still hadn’t seen her, and she had walked right by him! She spared him only a moment though. Her eyes followed the woman’s path. She was heading for the transporter at the other end of the hallway. Who was she? What did she want?

Teyla began following her. The woman glided forwards, never looking back. Teyla had nearly caught up with her when they neared the transporter. The door slid back slowly. Teyla gasped in fright and shock as man lurched towards her, bearing hideous disfiguring burns all over his body and moaning in the same language as the woman. Teyla reeled backwards, into the arms of Ronon, who had followed her.

He caught her by the shoulders and forced her to look at him. “Hey, hey… what’s wrong?” he said, watching her in concern. Teyla, breath still hard to come by, looked over towards the burned man. He was gone, as was the woman. The first twinges of fear clawed at her. What was happening to her...?

Ronon was worried. “What?” he asked softly.

She didn’t know how to answer him.

        -o-

It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining, puffy white clouds floated through the sky, and everything else was that particular shade of bright blue typical of Lantea. Rodney wasn’t bothered with the sky though. Today, it was the ocean that occupied him. Standing on the balcony outside the control room, he rested one foot on the lower ledge of the railing as he leaned over it, a pair of binoculars pressed to his eyes. Very interesting…

“Huh…” he said, standing upright and lowering the binoculars. ‘I wonder if…’ Suddenly he sensed that someone was nearby. He turned and found John Sheppard standing next to him, staring out at the ocean, one hand on his hip and a bored looking frown on his face. “Hey,” he said, surprised. He jerked a thumb at him. “How long have you been standing there?”

John glanced at him. “Hour or so.”

“What?” He waved a hand at the ocean. “Why didn’t you say anything, I feel like a... Oh,” he said, realization hitting him. “It’s the kidding.” He gave a resigned grimace.

Sheppard didn’t reply to the accusation. He held out his hand for the binoculars. “What’d you want to show me?”

Rodney pointed at a spot out in the ocean. “Right there.”

John put the binoculars to his eyes. “Wow! All that… water.”

Rodney inwardly rolled his eyes. The impatience of the military mind. “Just wait for it,” he said shortly. Even though he didn’t have the binoculars, he knew what Sheppard would see – a huge whale-like animal with fins along its back, surfacing momentarily before disappearing back into the waves. A moment later John lowered the binoculars, looking pleasantly surprised.

“It’ s my friend,” said Rodney happily, smiling as he looked down towards the water. “He’s back.”

        -o-

The yellow-green grid of light caused by the scanner passed back and forth over Teyla’s closed eyes as she lay still on the infirmary bed, wearing the white infirmary pajamas that she had been given for the examination.

Elizabeth looked from her friend over to Dr. Beckett, who was watching the results of Teyla’s scan display themselves on the screen.

“The scan’ s clean,” he said. “No sign of any physical abnormality.”

“We’ve seen devices that can mess with people’s minds… “ suggested Ronon, “cause them to hallucinate things.” He was standing by Teyla’s bed, arms folded. He had been there when Elizabeth arrived in the infirmary – understandable since he’d brought Teyla in - and showed no intention of leaving any time soon while his teammate was still there.

“Aye,” agreed Carson, “but they’ve always had corresponding neural activity to indicate a problem. No, I’m afraid for the moment anyway, there doesn’t appear to be any physiological reasons for her hallucinations.” Teyla began to stir now that the scan was over, putting a hand to her forehead. Ronon levered himself onto an empty bed, watching her with a concerned look.

He wasn’t the only one. Elizabeth looked at the representation of Teyla’s brain displayed on the screen, then up at Carson. “Then why did she see what she saw?” she asked the doctor quietly.

“I don’t quite know.” He seemed uncomfortable not having any answers to give.

“Many Ancestors died here recently,” said Teyla. She sat up. “During the Replicator invasion, the crew of the Tria were all murdered. Perhaps they attempted to ascend but were prevented from fully doing so… trapped between this plane of existence and the next.”

Elizabeth raised an eyebrow. It was certainly an interesting theory. “You mean ghosts?”

Ronon gave Teyla a look – part knowing, part skepticism, yet with a teasing glint. “You ask me it’s too much meditation.”

Teyla just shook her head at him incredulously.

          Part 3:

          Spoiler:

          -o-

“Is she gonna be okay?” asked John as he and Elizabeth walked briskly down a hallway bustling with base personnel. He hadn’t even known there was anything wrong with Teyla, and then suddenly Elizabeth’s coming back from the infirmary to tell him his teammate had been having hallucinations.

“I don’t know,” was Elizabeth’s answer. “Hopefully she just needs some rest. We’ve all been through quite a lot…”

“There you are!” called a voice loudly, cutting off whatever else she may have been about to say.

“Rodney,” Elizabeth sighed, “I told you…”

“Oh,” he interrupted again, joining them as they walked, “not you, I mean Sheppard.”

“Thank you!” said Elizabeth sarcastically, giving him a small, slightly offended look which turned into a smile as he tried to quickly eat his words. John looked away and frowned. Here we go…

“Oh, I mean, not that I don’t wanna talk to you. Well, you can be a part of this conversation. In fact, I think you’ll probably find it every bit as interesting ...”

Growing impatient at Rodney’s pestering of Elizabeth, John took his own turn at interrupting. He stopped walking. “What are you saying?”

Rodney turned to face the two of them, grinning like a little kid. He held up the data pad that was like an appendage to him. “Check it out.” On the screen was a skeletal image of the whale-thingy they had been watching earlier. “Found it in the Ancient database.” He lowered the data pad. John took a deep breath and looked down his nose at Rodney. He saw the signs of this whale thing turning into a full blown Rodney McKay obsession. “They have a whole subsection on indigenous Lantean animal life,” Rodney continued, shaking his finger at them to emphasize his next words. “Did you know that there was a lobster-like crustacean down there the size of a Buick?”

“Mmm,” said Elizabeth, a raised eyebrow indicating she was somewhat impressed with this information. She gestured towards the data pad. “And what is that?”

“That’s Rodney’s whale friend,” John smirked, gaining a glance from Elizabeth.

“Ah, but not actually a whale,” Rodney corrected, still excited over his discovery. “Whale-like, but not a mammal. It’s a fish.” He waved his free hand at the data pad, smiling. “It’s a big, big fish."

“Did the Ancients have a name for it?”

Rodney suddenly became less excited. “Yeah, uh… Flagecallus.” At the looks John and Elizabeth gave him, he continued, somewhat uncomfortably. “I know… they were terrible at naming things. I’ve just, um ... I’ve just called it “whale” for now.”

“And why are you studying this?” asked Elizabeth.

“Oh, ‘cause he’s out there right now, circling the city.” The eagerness returned. He was practically bouncing. “Sheppard and I saw him. Probably the very same whale that saved me last year when I was trapped in that submerged Jumper.”

‘Heeeyy…’ thought John. “I thought Zelenka and I saved you?!”

“Well... you did, technically,” Rodney conceded, “but only after Sam led you to me.”

John and Elizabeth gave him identical looks of surprise. “Sam?” questioned Elizabeth.

Rodney looked at her reluctantly. “Uh, it’s the whale. I named him… after Sam ... antha Carter. Personal reasons.”

John squinted at him in disbelief. “You named him after Samantha Carter…?”

“Well, Sam’s a boy’s name too!” Rodney said defensively. John bit back a smile. He was enjoying this.

“And how do you know… he’s a he?” asked Elizabeth.

“Oh, because I cross-referenced the renderings in the database with the whale outside-” He pointed a finger in the general direction of outside. “-and, you’ll see...” Rodney pressed several buttons on his data pad, pulling up a new image to show them. John bit his lip and looked at the floor. “…the males have a rather prominent…”

“Oh, it’s okay, never mind,” said Elizabeth quickly as she looked at the screen, suddenly looking like she wished she could be elsewhere. “I’ll take your word for it.” Obviously deciding a change of subject was safest, she turned to Rodney and gestured to the data pad in his hands. “I trust this little diversion isn’t actually cutting into your work-time?”

“Oh, no, no. No, of course not,” Rodney assured her. “No, I’m just dabbling in my free time.”

John smiled and nodded. Sure… He glanced over at Elizabeth. Her mouth quirked to one side and she gave a slight nod. “Alright then boys.” She gave Rodney a pat on the shoulder as she started walking. “Dabble away!”

After she had left, John and Rodney proceeded down the corridor as well. “So, these, uh, whales,” began John. “Did the Ancients say they’re good eating?”

Rodney’s brow furrowed and he looked at John incredulously. “Oh, you wouldn’t!”

          “I would.”

          -o-

A tired Teyla climbed onto her bed gratefully, glad that it was nighttime once again. Her room was softly dark; moonlight streamed through the windows and the eternally glowing panels in the walls provided small illumination. The comforting gold light of a candle flickered on her bedside table. She leaned over and slid it farther away so she wouldn’t disturb it, then laid back and settled herself under the covers. It had been a long day. Growing still, she closed her eyes and waited for sleep to claim her.

Before it could, a noise drifted in from outside. Teyla’s eyes snapped open. Warped words, high-pitched squeaks… it was a language that was fast becoming familiar. She sat up and listened for moment, then pushed back the covers and got out of bed. Walking to the door, she waved her hand over the control panel. The door slid open to reveal the dark hallway – the empty dark hallway. But wait… there. A shadowy figure passed by. Teyla hurried to follow her.

The woman in white marched down the corridor – the same one she had haunted before - seemingly unaware of Teyla’ s presence. Once again Teyla got the impression that there was something terribly wrong. “Hello!” she called. “Wait!”

The woman approached the transporter at the end of the hallway. The door opened, but this time Teyla knew what to expect. The burned man pitched forwards, moaning. The woman in white caught him in her arms and turned, looking directly at Teyla for the first time. She called out to her, face anguished, but her voice was no more understandable than before, and had reached a pitch that was painfully high. The last pleading note echoed. It hurt… Teyla clutched at her head, but the piercing voice lingered long after the ghostly Ancestors had disappeared.

          -o-

Dr. Kate Heightmeyer’s office was dim and cool, the long narrow space as gentle and welcoming as the woman who occupied it. Teyla had consulted the now-red-haired psychologist with success several times before, and had come to consider her a close friend. And with these… apparitions becoming worse, Teyla had found herself in need of her counsel.

“You don’t understand what the woman is saying?” asked Kate.

“No,” answered Teyla. “I believe she is speaking in the Ancestral tongue.”

Kate’s eyebrows furrowed slightly at the news, but she continued. “You said she’s afraid?” Teyla nodded. “Of the burned man?”

“No. It is my sense that she is trying to help him,” Teyla explained, then sighed inwardly. “Whatever it is she fears I do not know.”

“Did you try to talk to her?”

“Yes… But she seems unaware of me. It is if I am not even there,” she admitted.

Kate thought for a moment. “If these are apparitions,” she said with a small smile. “Why do you think they’re appearing to you?”

She shook her head, momentarily at a loss. Then Teyla remembered her trip to the infirmary. She smiled. “Too much meditation.”

Kate frowned in confusion and gave her a questioning look.

Teyla smiled. “Something Ronon said to me.”

“Oh,” Kate laughed. “Well, there are those who believe that meditation is a way of opening a door to the spiritual world.”

Teyla nodded, considering the possibility. “If these are Ancestors trapped between planes of existence, perhaps they are trying to communicate something to me.” Kate raised an eyebrow at that. “Maybe they believe I can help them to… move on.” Teyla was unable to help the hopeless look she gave Kate. If only she knew how to do that.

          -o-

“I don’t know why she’s experiencing these visions, but she’s always been one to shoulder a lot of emotional responsibility.” Elizabeth glanced at Dr. Heightmeyer as they walked along the corridor and let out a breath. The situation with Teyla was really beginning to concern her. The psychologist continued. “She may be carrying some guilt over what happened to the Ancients here recently.”

“Well, why?” said Elizabeth, somewhat surprised at that diagnosis. “It certainly wasn’t her fault.”

“No, no, of course not, but somewhere deep inside her she may somehow feel complicit in the actions that led up to their murders.”

Elizabeth gave a slight tilt of her head, acknowledging that theory to herself. It was certainly possible. The situation with the Ancients and the Replicators in Atlantis certainly provided a whole crop of ‘what if’ material.

“I’ll continue working with her,” continued Heightmeyer. “See if I can sort things out.”

“Okay,” said Elizabeth. “I’ll make sure she gets some rest, even if it means taking her off the next mission.”

Heightmeyer immediately gave a sigh of agreement. “She does seem tired. She hasn’t been sleeping well, and the last few days she’s been complaining of headaches.”

Elizabeth frowned. “Doctor Beckett gave her a clean bill of health.” She shrugged at the conflicting stories.

“Well, we’ll just keep an eye on her. Hopefully it’ll all pass,” Heightmeyer said reassuringly.

“Let’s hope so,” Elizabeth said, her lips pressing together. She nodded at the other woman. “Thank you.”

Heightmeyer smiled and walked away. Sighing, Elizabeth turned and stepped towards the nearest transporter. It was always something. She swiped her hand over the glowing control panel and the doors parted. She was greeted by the ghastly sight of a horribly burned man wearing scorched Ancient clothing, groaning in pain. Elizabeth gasped, stepping backwards in shock. The man staggered forwards and fell. He disappeared before he could hit the ground.

‘What…?’ Still reeling, Elizabeth looked around to see if anyone had seen it too. No one had. She took a shuddering breath. ‘It’s happening to me too…’

Thanks! I'm very happy with how the map came out; you wouldn't believe how many times I had to redo the screen caps of the map widget so I could get ones without those stupid little flashing yellow dots.

Aha! I was weighing whether to pick Photobucket or Picasa... I ended up going with PB since most people seem to use it. Though I'll probably get a Picasa account at some point anyway.

                Shopping! Always a good distraction!

Speaking of which, the dates and location for the live auctions of Stargate props and costumes by Propworx have been set: Friday, September 24 through Sunday, September 26 at the Science Fiction Museum in Seattle, Washington. Needless to say, I am extremely annoyed by this. Right now, we're penciled in for a trip to our seekrit island hideaway in the Puget Sound for the week of September 11-17. Damnit. *headdesk* At least they're going to be set up for online bidding for those who can't make it to the auctions in person. Still, I'm bummed that I'm going to miss the preview day and seeing all those lovely items in person.

What happened sweetie? There's nothing bad on the thread. You were doing fine and I was proud of how you handled yourself.

I thought I was pretty good on the thread too but it seems to be a problem for someone. I had reflections on msn and it's not someone on the famous thread. So for this person "I don't see the obvious things", "I love bashing Teyla", "I don't have respect for the Sheyla's fans" and blabla. I thought it was a joke at the beginning but no she was serious. I don't thing I was rude or lack of respect but she felt hurt by my comments.
It's the second time that I have a problem like this. I start to think we can't talk about a TV show (yes a TV SHOW and not something very serious) without problems. It's why I prefer to stop my comments. It's stupid because I think we had a nice conversation on the thread.

Oh please. If only SR and I started counting the times someone insulted us, or called us insane, blind, ignorant or whatever down that line, because of a ship PAIRING, I think someone should be tearing down threads on this forum.

I don't think you were bashing anyone, you were expressing your opinion. If you were bashing, then I wonder why nobody reacted gazzilion times over when either Sparky, Elizabeth, or sparky/Elizabeth fans were bashed.
I'm not weird, I'm limited edition.
