Kris: I heard your voice and I heard Joe when he said "putain de merde". Nice french voice.
Sorry to hear about your troubles. I hope it'll all turn out ok soon...

Hehe, Joe was so funny saying that... and then he started ranting about his foul-mouthed wife

It's more the way she conducts herself: confident, intelligent, and strong. I think she'd stop a clock playing an old school noir type role.
You are so right!!! I've had endless hours of discussion with friends about why I prefer Elizabeth over Teyla and why I think Liz is hotter than Teyla and if I were a guy (or gay) why I'd have a thing for Liz instead of the "hot babe" Teyla. They don't get it... and I don't get why they don't get it *shakes head*
But you just said it perfectly in one sentence. Gotta remember that for the next discussion

Lol, you should have heard the applause he got at Fedcon when he said that David and him didn't care much for what tptb said they had to do, so they just did their own thing
We love the fact that our actors have a mind of their own, don't we?

Mainly... but given how Wright apparently didn't even stick up for Torri when M&M tried to throw her to the wolves and some of Wright's rather insulting comments about how they had "real" actors on SGU and the like, I don't think he's entirely innocent. Cooper seems to have been careful to not say anything really inflammatory.

      Paging Doctor Doogie Keller.

To me, Elizabeth IS the 'hot babe.' And I don't swing that way, either.

Yup. Actors who have a mind of their own are capable of putting out far superior performances compared to actors who are just spoon-fed robots.

Ah, good point and you're totally right. If that is how he acted, then he's just as guilty.

Indeed. To be honest, Mullie, like Cooper, has been rather quiet as well. Probably a smart move.

Yup, that probably is the smartest move, although not a brave one... But braver than just agreeing with tptb that frakked up.

But they are very very strict when it comes to filming at Fedcon. I think that this year, it was even said that when movies would appear on YouTube and Fedcon could figure out your name, you'd be landing on a black list and wouldn't be able to attend the following year.
At some panels it was even said that if they caught you filming, you would be kicked out of the convention right away. Not sure if that was said for the Joe and David panels.

Better that than getting ripped to shreds by outraged fans, that's for sure.

Creation has a no-filming policy as well. Though I have to question how they can possibly enforce it considering that even the newest cheap point-and-shoot cameras are now capable of shooting pretty decent video and audio. They can look at you and have no way to tell if you're shooting still photos or video. The technology has outstripped them by such a wide margin that they've already lost the war.

Considered much more of a sure thing is the character of Dr. Elizabeth Weir, and both Brad and Robert speak in glowing terms of Torri Higginson, who will be taking the role originated by Jessica Steen. “She became the bar, and no one got near it,” Brad says of Torri during the casting process. Robert adds, “We found Torri right away, and fell in love with her. Actually, it was, like, five seconds into her audition, it was halfway through the speech, and Brad said, ‘O.T.W.!’ which just means ‘On To Wardrobe!’” he laughs.

What they both saw in her performance was an ability to play a strong leader without approaching the role as a man would. “What I love about her,” Brad says, “is she’s just strong. Torri is just strong. She doesn’t have to put on any airs.” “And yet she is able to appear vulnerable, and feminine, and all those things,” Robert interjects as Brad continues, “But when she takes command, like when she says to Sheppard in the pilot, ‘Look, just shut up for a minute!’, you don’t feel like it’s…” “…*****y,” Robert finishes.

“She’s just strong,” Brad repeats, “and she’s a great balance for Joe [Flanigan, who plays Major John Sheppard], and smart! In the ‘SG-1’ two parter, we get to see her in her natural element, too, being a diplomat. She’s negotiating with Goa’ulds, and she shows off just how good she can be.” Robert notes, “And I think you see in the two-hour of ‘SG-1’ as well, that the other actors obviously developed an immediate respect for her, and that that came across in the way that the characters saw her now in command of the SGC.”

                How things change...
My first reaction to this - YAH, Torri is SO FREAKIN AWESOME! DA^M STRAIGHT BABY!

My second reaction to this - Oh, wait, guess they didn't mean it. Idiot PTW.

I'm sticking with my first reaction because IT'S THE TRUTH!

That's what we thought initially because of JM's statements on his blog, but after the show ended it was like SK said, BW came out with some pretty inflammatory statements. RCC though, has always said good things about JF at least.

Mr. SR says the same things about Torri. He much prefers her over the obvious oversexualized look. Maybe that's why he was attracted to me. *snort*

And I loved how David said he and Joe wanted the series to end after Vegas. LOL That sure would have frosted a lot of people.

Probably, though I think pre-enzyme Ford might be a better fit for Winston's happy-go-lucky self.

Though I have to say, the mental image of Teyla popping bubblegum and snarking away on the phone has me giggling my head off!

Walter Peck. Yeah, pre-Season 5 Woolsey would make a great Peck! Especially when he gets doused with a mountain of warm marshmallow cream after the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man goes kaboom.

Very true and I think the people who were filming just kept it to themselves instead of putting it on YouTube because Fedcon came with the "if we find out it's you we'll black-list you" rule.
And I think it's because technology is outrunning them, that they came up with that rule.

Oh, yes!! I loved that statement!!
But what I still don't get is how little applause it got... I was applauding like crazy, but I was one of the few
So either people loved that final ep, or they didn't like Vegas... or they just didn't get what David meant
