Joe will be appearing at the Creation cons in Minneapolis in June, Chicago in August and Los Angeles in November. Email Creation and tell them to add Torri! (especially for the LA con, because she hasn't done a REAL convention on the West Coast in at least three years, and she lives in LA and they wouldn't have to spend so much on transportation/accommodations)

That's the norm over here, at least for the cons run by Creation. Independently run cons like Shore Leave and Dragon*Con may vary; I've never been to them, so I'm not sure how they do things.

Thanks for the welcome, lol and yes i'm female. I really noticed close a bond they had in lifeline, when keller is explaining elizabeths condition to john and hes just kinda standing there looking really lost and his nose looks all reddish like hes about to cry you could tell he really cared about her, whether as a friend or more is up to the viewer, i like that ambiguity.

I agree. Many people see me as a strong woman, but I'm not as tough as they believe.
More than 20 years ago I lost my mother and I was only 28 then.
She was sick for 6 months (cancer) and I spent those months always running here and there, not sleeping or eating that much, pretending with her that she had a chance to win that battle, making jokes to keep her spirit high, but in the end she died anyway ...
I didn't break inside immediately ... it happened after some months ... but then it happened: and I wasn't able to react. My immune system blacked out and I went through all sort of sicknesses: fever, etc.
It was just depression but I couldn't see that.

I second that. My second depression was totally different from the first one and I didn't even believe the doctor when, after lot of exams and tests, he said to me it was just depression. At first I thought he was an idiot who couldn't identify my sickness but in the end he was right.

I'd say John is prone to react in depressed way.

Yes and I can see that after he lost Elizabeth, but he's in denial and never will admit (not even to himself) that losing her was so devastating. He has buried that pain deep inside and knows that, if he lets it come out, he will break. Poor John ...

A fanfic author, who belongs to a shipper group that shall not be named is writing an SGA tie in novel. She is boasting on her "official" LJ blog that she intends to break up a couple from SGA. Our guess is that couple that has a kid. Are you disturbed yet? No? Okay, there's more. She is known for fanfics that portray John as someone who has PTSD, sexual insecurity issues and sexual identity issues. Yes, you read that right. He is also totally and completely okay with home wrecking, because it would be - how was that? - wrong to assume that a certain major female character adheres to "western, methodist, middle class, white standards of what family should mean." LOL. I better not go into how she portrays certain major female character. Let's also mention that, according to her, Elizabeth is this middle aged, old - feeling chick who is bored, out of touch with the members of her expedition and John apparently doesn't know how to talk to her, because if he does, oh the poor lonely Elizabeth might see it as him hitting on her. And he really REALLY doesn't want that. Because, you see, he's taken. Only it's friends with benefits scheme. The author and her followers have obviously watched some version of SGA we have apparently missed.

Get ready to squee! I just found a post from someone on my LJ flist who is at the con in the UK. She talked to Joe and he went into a rant about how badly Torri got treated, said she was hot on camera and was even sexier in person. Yes, he said it again. This person writes Sparky fanfic so she would be fair in reporting the convo. He ranted on about the producers and how everyone was treated. I won't link without her permission but that's the best of it.

Oh, darling! *hugs you* No, no, don't feel sick. In grand scheme of things, this poor excuse of writing, which doesn't deserve the name "book" isn't worth it. Repeat after us: POLYAMOROUS NOMADS.
