Warning: No actual actors are being shipped, just their characters.

    Spoiler:
I've tried to schedule a Stargate day but they always tell me they're too busy. That being said, when they're here during the reruns on TV they're glued to the TV (both SGA and SG1 reruns have this effect) and shushing the kids and asking all kinds of questions. They're closet Stargate geeks! LOL

I'm sure she'll still be on the team and kicking shins with the boys. The new books are changing canon in regards to her story in a truly disturbing way and I think just damaging her character horrendously.

Yeah, I've read about that... Lucky for me then, that I don't actually read the books.

Har. You and me both. If I want to read fanfic, there's plenty of better free stuff around.

I had fun writing this last time, so here's another pass-the-Friday ficlet. It was written for Anuna (who asked for fics a few days ago) but I'll share it here. It's more fun in the style of "Tea Party"

            Spoiler:

            Like Father Like…

“Settle in,” John called over his shoulder, unsnapping his TAC vest as the jumper hatch closed behind them. Rodney McKay took the seat to his right, nose buried in his datapad, while Ronon plopped into the one behind McKay, tossing his gear into the open corner next to John’s.

Emma dumped her armload of dolls and action figures in the back, taking a few moments to settle them all properly upright, then came forward and pulled herself into the seat behind him. Generally he’d make her strap up in the back, but he figured on a trip inbound from the mainland they’d be okay to have her in the cockpit.

So long as Elizabeth didn’t find out.

“Ready?” he asked genially, and she nodded. “Okay, then, homeward bound.”

As the jumper powered up she suddenly scrambled down from her seat, her expression panicked. “Wait!”

“What is it? Emma?” He turned back as she disappeared into the rear compartment, tossing Ronon an apologetic smile. The Satedan shrugged nonchalantly. Rodney was too busy with his data to notice the disruption.

John waited a few moments, tapping his fingers on the jumper controls. “Emma, what…?”

            “WE FORGOT JOHN ELWAY!”

McKay glanced up from his notes, looking over as Emma ran up the gangway to the pilot’s chair. “John Elway?”

John looked at him over Emma’s head. “One of her dolls. What do you mean we ‘forgot’ him?”

“She has a doll named John Elway?”

“It’s a long story.” He leaned towards her as she bounced on her toes. “What happened to him?”

“I don’t know! I thought he was with everybody else.”

“Well, we don’t have time to look for him now.”

            “Why not?”

“Because…” he put an edge to his tone, “we have to get Rodney and Ronon back to Atlantis. They’ve got important business to take care of.”

She glanced over at Ronon, who shrugged lazily, then at Rodney, who met her gaze with consternation. When she wheeled back to him, her expression was skeptical.

“The answer is no,” he said before she could speak. “Now go back and sit down.”

            “But he’ll get hurt!”

“He’s a doll, he can’t get hurt,” Rodney sniped.

Emma turned towards him slowly, a murderous look on her face, and he swallowed, quickly directing his attention back to his datapad. “Or maybe he can.”

“We have to rescue him! The Mogwites might get him,” she pleaded, bouncing again as she turned back to John.

            Ronon grunted. “Mogwites?”

“The cat…things Stetson ran into,” John said in explanation. “We didn’t have names for them at the time. Look, kiddo, I’m sure John Elway will be fine for one night. We’ll come back and look for him tomorrow.”

“Colonel.” She stood on tiptoe, leaning up towards him with a serious expression. “You know the rules. We do NOT leave our people behind. Ever.”

From behind him, Ronon snorted, and Rodney glanced up from his datapad with a smile. John shut his eyes, taking a deep breath. Emma had already headed to the rear and was banging on the hatch. “Let’s go!”

He looked over at his friends, who were both grinning widely. “I suppose I deserved that.”

            “Oh, yeah.”

            “Completely and totally deserved.”

He rose and slapped the controls open. “Well, you’ll both have to excuse me for a minute, I have to go rescue a Barbie doll.”

Ronon stood up behind him, stretching.

            “Where are you going?”

“I don’t want to miss this,” he grinned. “Especially if you have to resuscitate him.”

            “Funny.”

“You may want to give a call to Atlantis, see if they can send some GI Joes,” Rodney said gleefully. “Just in case you need back-up.”

            “Shut up.”

“Are you guys coming?!” Emma yelled from somewhere in the rear of the jumper.

“Coming,” he cinched his vest shut. “Not a word of this to anyone, or John Elway’s not the only one who’ll be in danger of getting left in the jungle overnight.”

Ronon flashed him a big grin. “I don’t think we have to say a word.”

“Yeah, the one thing your kid is not is quiet.”

“Hey,” Emma scuttled back into the cockpit, a spare utility vest thrown on over her clothes and a water pistol in hand. She held a life signs detector in the other. “We’re wasting valuable time. Let’s go.”

            “Where did you get that?”

“Come ON!” she turned from them, running through the rear and down into the jungle.

“Was that your knife attached to her belt?” Rodney asked, his grin fading. John reached up behind him, eyes widening, and bolted for the door.

“EMMA SHEPPARD! GET BACK HERE RIGHT NOW!”

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon. Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.

                    This is interesting and OT.

                    Spoiler:
Big excitement about the new comic books. Article here

                    and this excerpt:

" Like Jerwa on "SG-1," Murray's plans for "Atlantis" involve picking up the show's threads as a "Season 6" for the cast of characters. "I pick up in issue #0 right where the show left off, with the Atlantis in San Francisco harbor and the crew having a break. That break turns to something else when a problem rears its ugly head—and that’s the basis of the opening story," Murray said, noting that the first arc of the series will take place entirely on Earth before space-bound adventures overtake the cast.

“I am trying to deal with some evolution of the characters—I get into the relationship between Rodney and Keller, and the one between Sheppard and Ronon," Murray added. He wishes to wrap dangling threads from the series in a character-specific sense. "Like anyone else, I have my favorites in the cast. Sheppard and McKay will remain as the central characters, with Ronon as the action guy. I’ll do a little more with Ronon than they’ve done on the show in recent days, and I’m sure I’ll bring in a couple of new characters. There’s a young lady named Larrin that appeared in a few episodes that I have my eye on—she’ll have something to do when the Atlantis—and Sheppard-- return to the Pegasus galaxy."

And with a return to space, fans of "Atlantis" can expect to see some big name villains over the course of the series, though many of them may not appear immediately. "Well, the Wraith are still out there—and as Atlantis left the Pegasus Galaxy when it did, we don’t really know what happened to them—or how they will evolve now that their basic life chemistry has been changed,” Murray hinted. “We also know that the Replicators are still out there—although not as powerfully as before. I think I can use them—in different ways—to tell some interesting stories. And there are a lot of races we haven’t even discovered yet. Who says the Atlantis even goes back to the same planet it was on?"

I have mixed emotions but this sounds like the action fans will like it. I guess between this and the new series of books, there will be lots of non-canon looks at a possible S6. Ours of course, will be the best. Hee.
Well, well, well. Sounds like the guys working on the comics are thinking along the same lines as we are, coming up with a much more balanced plan for post-EatG storylines than the other tie-ins we've heard about. And the beauty of the comics medium is that because of its target audience, it's much more likely to be keeping in the spirit of the show than the other tie-ins as well.

Replicators? Well, there's only one set of replicators we know that are still out there, technically...I'm not going to get excited, but that sounds interesting!
Indeed. At least they seem to be eager to tackle the Replicators, which other tie-ins seem to be scared of doing.

And they like Joe so their Sheppard will be as Joe played him. Thank you baby Jesus.
I know that they've released some cover art samples for a Vala miniseries that's coming out this summer. Nothing on the main "SGA Season 6" or "SG-1 Season 11" comics yet, though.

And yes! I also appreciate them keeping Sheppard the way that Joe played him. Because who wants to read about Sheppard getting turned into a bouncy dope?

Eri, I am DYING!!!! Emma is such a hoot! She totally gets it from her dad. And ohhhh, John had better pray Elizabeth never finds out about this... LOL!

I've been having such fun writing her! She's hung around in my head for a while (at various ages) but I'm not much of a kid-fic fan, and I don't stretch out into true fanon that much, so I've just never really put pen to paper on her. I want to do more, though, because writing some of the exchanges between her and John makes me giggle like a silly person. I don't think I've giggled this much in a while.

And made me feel a tiny bit better. *whines* I have a sore throat and a runny nose. I never get sick. It's not fair. My theory is that I caught it at the doctor's office last week. Go in for a check up and come home sick. Ain't life interesting?

Hee.
That is interesting. But you're right though. Ours'll be better.
