I love how rational Elizabeth sounds in the first part of the season. There is much more 'discussion' than 'compliance/agreement' before The Storm, but you can see where John is starting to figure out she's not working against him. And better yet, her concerns generally turn out to be valid points.

But he's still such a boy, too...like at the end when she's in that blue top and they walk out onto the balcony (Random FYI, there are people on it when they first come out who promptly exit stage right *LOL*) and she's telling him Bates struck a deal with the Minerians (ouch! Bad move!) and John's kinda like 'OH HE DID!?' and Elizabeth responds "It's not a competition"... HA.

Hey guys? Anyone willing to cheer me up a bit? I've had a hard day today. *curls*

How about I made you some ginger-cookies and John wants to give them to you?

He looks like he's thinking "Wait now, I have to give Anuna the cookies? I thought I got to eat the cookies and Anuna was bringing the milk." *insert John's confused face*

See now when I do that bad a job trying to cheer somebody up you know I'm not doing so well myself. I haven't had a bad day. I'm just pissed off that it's going to snow another few thousand feet and worried about getting out of here on Monday.

My attempt to cheer all of us up since I won't be around for Valentine's Day.

          Spoiler:

I'm also pissed that we still have awful weather. It's not the weather itself, but my bf was going to visit for the weekend and now he might not make it because of the feckin' snow and ice. It keeps on thawing and re-freezing. There is ice everywhere. *sigh*

              But Valentines-John is good.

Ice is worse than snow I will admit. At least we can shovel. And shovel. And shovel. Somebody needs to write us John shoveling smut. *puppy eyes*

                    Taglines:

And so it begins... - which is a classic tagline, but maybe a little too cliché

...until death does us part. - I don't know about this one, but it sounds kind of foreboding, and yet it could also signal something Sparky-like since this is what you want shown as an undertone to the overall storyline.

                      Spoiler:
Elizabeth Weir looked at the scene before her and tried not to stare. Being in her line of work, Elizabeth has seen the most elegantly dressed men on the planet. Kings with their crown jewels, the finest top hat and tails and state dinners, and men in all kinds of uniform. But something about a man being manly is what really catches Elizabeth’s eye.

                      You don’t know what you’ve been a-missin’

“Everybody watch your eyes. There’s gonna be some sparks,” John warned as he arced the plasma torch.

“John how long until you cut through?” Elizabeth asked as she turned away from the slag flying in the air.

“Not sure. The cutter can barely make it through the door,” John almost yelled over the noise.

A sigh of relief escaped Elizabeth’s lips. Being forced to turn around was a blessing after all. If the rumor mill found out about her ogling John while he was bent over cutting through a door, she would never live it down.

                      Oh Boy
                      When you’re with me
                      Oh Boy
                      The world can see
That you were meant for me

A few hours after John cut through the door, Elizabeth was back at her desk. She thought about the past few years on Atlantis. All of Elizabeth’s thoughts centered on John in some way. The fact was undeniable that her and John were very close. But how close they were and how close they could be always found a way to Elizabeth’s thoughts.

                      All of my life
                      I’ve been a-waitin’
                      Tonight there’ll be no hesitatin’

Judging by what the expedition thought, her and John were a perfect fit. Elizabeth never confronted anyone, but she heard about “eye sex” as the expedition called the looks she and John share. At lunch one time she even heard someone ask, “Is it proper for them to be sleeping together?”

                      Oh boy
                      When you’re with me
                      Oh boy
                      The world can see
That you were meant for me

Elizabeth left her desk and went outside to the balcony. The sun was setting and Atlantis’ towers were casting shadows over the ocean. The view was romantic to Elizabeth; only adding to her heart’s scream to be satisfied.

Stars appear and the shadows a-fallin’
You can hear my heart a-callin’

Seemingly on cue John joined her on the balcony. Smiling as he approached made Elizabeth turn her attention away from the ocean. She smiled back; perhaps too come-hither than what is appropriate. But Elizabeth decided that did not bother her.

A little bit a lovin’ makes everything a-right
I’m gonna see my baby tonight

“Hey Elizabeth. We got a message from Chaya...” John was cut off.

“What did she have to say?” Elizabeth tried to sound pleasant, but her tone was venomous.

“Easy there. She wanted let us know some Wraith ships passed by her planet. Geez, you sound jealous,” John leaned on the balcony’s railing.

“We’ll keep an eye on them with the long range sensors. And I am not jealous,” Elizabeth raised her brow.

                      You don’t know what you’ve been a-missin’

“That makes you seem more jealous. If all you want is a picnic, just say the word,” John smirked as he teased Elizabeth.

“It’ll take a lot more than a blanket and turkey sandwiches to impress me John Sheppard,” Elizabeth crossed her arms in defiance.

“I think the view here would be perfect. Our balcony with the twilight and sea breeze. That would be very... intimate,” John spoke with exaggerated whimsy in his voice.

                      Oh Boy
                      When you’re with me
                      Oh Boy

That you were meant for me

“And just how intimate would that be?” Elizabeth tilted her head from curiosity.

“Hmm. However intimate you want it be,” with a small grin John put a foot on the lower railing.

                      All of my love
                      All of my kissin’
                      You don’t know what you’ve been a-missin’

“I doubt you could handle that,” Elizabeth leaned her back against the balcony railing.

“And how would you know how much I can handle?” John leaned in closer to Elizabeth.

“And how would you know how much I can dish out?” Elizabeth shot back with a smirk and a brow raise.

                      Oh boy
                      When you’re with
                      Oh boy
                      The world can see
                      You were meant for me

“I guess there’s only way to find out isn’t there?” John turned up the flirting.

“You’ll just have to keep dreaming,” Elizabeth replied as she pushed her self from the railing.

“Sometimes dreams really do come true,” John took a small step to block her path.

                      Tonight there’ll be no hesitatin’

“That’s true Jiminy Cricket. Was your next move going to be watching Beauty and the Beast in the dark?” Elizabeth chuckled.

“You always struck me as more of a Little Mermaid kind of girl,” John acted as though he was in deep thought.”

                      Oh Boy

That you were meant for me

“What makes you say that?” Elizabeth shifted to one side.

“You like exploring and learning new things. Don’t know how well you can sing,” John smiled.

“Me singing. That’ll be the day,” Elizabeth rolled her eyes.

Stars appear and the shadows are fallin’
You can hear my heart a-callin’

“A little moonlight serenade. That would be really nice,” John motioned with his hands to their surroundings.

“Should I make it obvious for you and do ‘Kiss the Girl’?” Elizabeth smiled and looked John in the eye.

“Maybe you should,” John’s voice lowered as he met Elizabeth’s green orbs.

A little bit of lovin’ makes everything a-right
I’m gonna see my baby tonight

“Oh, hey Elizabeth. And John you’re here too. That’s good because we need you tow to take a look at some prints we found about Ancient weapons systems,” Rodney McKay interrupted while still looking down at his computer.

“Uh sure Rodney. We’ll be right there,” John replied while his eye were still locked with Elizabeth’s.

“Let’s see what you’ve got,” Elizabeth blinked and turned away.

“Did I interrupt something?” Rodney asked when he finally looked up in confusion and saw John and Elizabeth standing together with no room for the Holy Ghost.

John and Elizabeth smiled to each other and started for the laboratory. McKay finally started walking when his senses returned.

“There’s got to be something going on there,” Rodney shook his head.

On a Sparky note, I watched "Underground" last night. Elizabeth's dialogue about building nuclear bombs has to be one of my all time favorite scenes from Torri.

SHEPPARD: Hey I don’t trust them as far as I can throw them. There’s a reason they insisted McKay and Teyla to stay there and it’s not just to help them with their bomb. WEIR: Ah well it is. Personally I stop short of offering nuclear weapons.

I love what they did with Elizabeth in s1 (and loosely speaking, all of the characters). She wasn't just stuck in her office, saying yay/nay, she was actually contributing to the ep. And as you say, offering a rational viewpoint.

It's interesting to hear Marty G (I'm not sure now whether it's in the Adrift commentary or First Strike, but probably FS) talk about Weir, and how she generally argues against the flow, and that she's usually proven right in the end (FS being a good example - she didn't argue that action wasn't needed, simply that it was a poor plan).

Should have been. Of course, after you get hit you end up driving like an 80-year-old, about 25 in a 50, because you're paranoid. I'm not looking forward to the drive home. It's an hour for me, in traffic, in the rain, with the accident still running through my head.

*sigh* The writers never make sense to me. Here's Gero saying she's essentially playing a 'foil' for the military, so why would you then try and argue she no longer had a purpose? It's just an endless cycle.

But yeah, tonight is Home, I think, which means the War & Peace scene. My side is really stiff and sore now, so I think after my hell ride home I'll curl up with cocoa and watch it.

But, considering I'm a "finishipper", I would like to get this at the Series Finale: Elizabeth with Ancestors Long Dress (see Echoes) and Sheppard in high uniform

Hey!!! You did a fantastic job with Photoshop!

                            Second that
But not too slow and disappointing as Jack & Sam ...
                            Thanks!

SHEPPARD: Hey I don’t trust them as far as I can throw them. There’s a reason they insisted McKay and Teyla to stay there and it’s not just to help them with their bomb. But we have something they need and they have something we need and I thought that was what negotiating was all about.
WEIR: Ah well it is. Personally I stop short of offering nuclear weapons.
FORD: They were building them anyways.
WEIR: Oh well…if they’re building them anyway Lieutenant, why don’t you just say so?!

HA.
I LOVED that. He couldn't get any more obvious that he was totally crushing on her!

STEAMPUNK ... oh, the props and sets we could do for steampunk-themed stories.
Oh, you betcha! And that reminds me, I have a request for the set/prop department. Can we please see some decent furniture in Atlantis? No more of the lame contemporary white leather box crap that were castoffs from Blade: Trinity (along with the steel framework set, which, of course, we're keeping). With all the angular stained glass and warm copper trim decorating the Gateroom and other areas of the city, I was always reminded of the designs by Frank Lloyd Wright and Charles Rennie Mackintosh. I want to see Craftsman-style furniture!

...until death does us part. - I don't know about this one, but it sounds kind of foreboding, and yet it could also signal something Sparky-like since this is what you want shown as an undertone to the overall storyline.

Rule #1: Elizabeth Weir is always right.

And that lovely "wouldn't be the same without you" line. I wonder if we should have a reference back to that in SS6, as well? Maybe in House of Mirrors when John's trying to reach Elizabeth, and he reminds her of that exchange and says how it wasn't the same while she was gone?

Judging by what the expedition thought, her and John were a perfect fit. Elizabeth never confronted anyone, but she heard about “eye sex” as the expedition called the looks she and John share. At lunch one time she even heard someone ask, “Is it proper for them to be sleeping together?”

                                Oh boy
                                When you’re with me
                                Oh boy

That you were meant for me

“And just how intimate would that be?” Elizabeth tilted her head from curiosity.

“Hmm. However intimate you want it be,” with a small grin John put a foot on the lower railing.

“I doubt you could handle that,” Elizabeth leaned her back against the balcony railing.

“And how would you know how much I can handle?” John leaned in closer to Elizabeth.

“And how would you know how much I can dish out?” Elizabeth shot back with a smirk and a brow raise.

                                Oh boy

“I guess there’s only way to find out isn’t there?” John turned up the flirting.

“You’ll just have to keep dreaming,” Elizabeth replied as she pushed her self from the railing.

“Sometimes dreams really do come true,” John took a small step to block her path.

“That’s true Jiminy Cricket. Was your next move going to be watching Beauty and the Beast in the dark?” Elizabeth chuckled.

“You always struck me as more of a Little Mermaid kind of girl,” John acted as though he was in deep thought.”

“What makes you say that?” Elizabeth shifted to one side.

“You like exploring and learning new things. Don’t know how well you can sing,” John smiled.

“Me singing. That’ll be the day,” Elizabeth rolled her eyes.

With all the angular stained glass and warm copper trim decorating the Gateroom and other areas of the city, I was always reminded of the designs by Frank Lloyd Wright and Charles Rennie Mackintosh. I want to see Craftsman-style furniture!
Atlantis does need a bit of a makeover ("contemporary white leather box crap" - LOL. Perfect description). The furniture the expedition brought over seems a little out of tune.
... and I was going to say something especially poignant, but forgot. Maybe later.
