Correct. It didn't help that neither Sam, Rodney or John didn't think to simply dial Earth straight from Atlantis to block the incoming wormhole. Woolsey arrived by ship, so at least at that point it hadn't been rebuilt

Yeah, I couldn't figure out the reason for not trying that, either.

Its plausible. Rodney said in Adrift that they couldn't dial out because he didn't know their position (in space), so he couldn't calibrate the gate. Presumable Zelenka is smarter than him and was able to figure this out whilst making the calculations for wormhole drive in EatG, allowing them to dial the super-hive from space

Just don't let Rodney hear you say that! LOL!

Okay...we'd have to think about this further. I know in the novel Casualties of War, there are 3 gates around one planet that ended up jumping one to the other. I'll have to go back and read how the author handled that. Though they can be sketchy in some ways, the Fandemonium authors do have to stick as much to canon as possible and get it approved.



I have a very efficient catch-and-release system for plot bunnies. They don't even smell the carrots. They're too fussed over the lettuce patch I planted around SR. And as you can see from her latest journal entry, it worked! *rubs hands in glee*

So you're the one. I wondered where all that lettuce was coming from. Hopefully when I get back from vacation lots of bunnies will have gathered.

and then at the end there's the logo, and then I was trying to think of some sort of tagline to use, so I've currently got 'the restoration begins...' (yeah, I might have stolen that from SK's big bang... ) and then the address for the comm. Any other thoughts for the tagline or is that okay?

Hello sparkies! I think with the Atlantis/Earth gate discussion, I thought I remember McKay (maybe Carter or Zelenka) that Pegasus gates will not work in the Milky Way. And in the S1 finale of SG-1 Apophis has a gate on his ship. The point of origin which leads to the entire address changes as the ship moves. So if Atlantis were to start flying around, it's be impossible for them to dial unless they stop and figure out were they're at.

On a different note, with this being "The Day the Music Died", I'll whip up some sparky stuff to commemorate the occasion.

I'd leave out the "In Season #..." bits, since the video clips themselves will give plenty of information for viewers to recognize each part of the series we're talking about. May want to think about breaking up the "an old enemy changed Atlantis forever... and they lost one of their own..." into two separate segments, since those lines cover two seasons rather than just one and it may be less confusing to give each season its own segment. I'd also change the "we" in the text for the Season 6 segment to "they" to make it consistent with the "and they lost one of their own" line that links up with Season 4. Instead, line could be something like, "Now... they're going to set things right."

Other possible taglines...
- "The war begins"
- "The war to take back what is theirs begins"
- "The war for the Pegasus Galaxy begins"

Anyone have any other ideas?

If Pegasus gates couldn't work in the Milky Way, then the Wraith plan to use a Pegasus gate in EatG to jam the Earth gate wouldn't have worked. As I understand it, Pegasus gates override Milky Way gates.

A sigh of relief escaped Elizabeth’s lips. Being forced to turn around was a blessing after all. If the rumor mill found out about her ogling John while he was bent over cutting through a door, she would never live it down.

A few hours after John cut through the door, Elizabeth was back at her desk. She thought about the past few years on Atlantis. All of Elizabeth’s thoughts centered on John in some way. The fact was undeniable that her and John were very close. But how close they were and how close they could be always found a way to Elizabeth’s thoughts.

Judging by what the expedition thought, her and John were a perfect fit. Elizabeth never confronted anyone, but she heard about “eye sex” as the expedition called the looks she and John share. At lunch one time she even heard someone ask, “Is it proper for them to be sleeping together?”

Elizabeth left her desk and went outside to the balcony. The sun was setting and Atlantis’ towers were casting shadows over the ocean. The view was romantic to Elizabeth; only adding to her heart’s scream to be satisfied.

Seemingly on cue John joined her on the balcony. Smiling as he approached made Elizabeth turn her attention away from the ocean. She smiled back; perhaps too come-hither than what is appropriate. But Elizabeth decided that did not bother her.

“Hey Elizabeth. We got a message from Chaya...” John was cut off.

“What did she have to say?” Elizabeth tried to sound pleasant, but her tone was venomous.

“Easy there. She wanted let us know some Wraith ships passed by her planet. Geez, you sound jealous,” John leaned on the balcony’s railing.

“We’ll keep an eye on them with the long range sensors. And I am not jealous,” Elizabeth raised her brow.

“That makes you seem more jealous. If all you want is a picnic, just say the word,” John smirked as he teased Elizabeth.

“I think the view here would be perfect. Our balcony with the twilight and sea breeze. That would be very... intimate,” John spoke with exaggerated whimsy in his voice.

“Let’s see what you’ve got,” Elizabeth blinked and turned away.

“Did I interrupt something?” Rodney asked when he finally looked up in confusion and saw John and Elizabeth standing together with no room for the Holy Ghost.

John and Elizabeth smiled to each other and started for the laboratory. McKay finally started walking when his senses returned.

Accident! Oh nos! Is it icy down there? We are getting hit with another foot or more of snow this weekend. Sigh. I hope we can get to the airport on Mon. I hates snow.

Nope. It's actually quite pleasant here for now. The birds were chirping this morning, which I noticed for the first time this winter. I didn't realize the cold was so silent, but apparently it is.

No snow for us, be we are getting the rain from that system.

On a Sparky note, I watched "Underground" last night. Elizabeth's dialogue about building nuclear bombs has to be one of my all time favorite scenes from Torri.

SHEPPARD: Hey I don’t trust them as far as I can throw them. There’s a reason they insisted McKay and Teyla to stay there and it’s not just to help them with their bomb. But we have something they need and they have something we need and I thought that was what negotiating was all about.
WEIR: Ah well it is. Personally I stop short of offering nuclear weapons.
FORD: They were building them anyways.
WEIR: Oh well…if they’re building them anyway Lieutenant, why don’t you just say so?!
