I thought it was quite the opposite, actually. It was the episode that showed us there never really was anything solid, other than friendship. And still, it's bug-Sheppard she dreams of ... a Wraith in his most basic form. Which makes more sense to me anyway.

Yes, there was, and I wasn't even watching with my shippy glasses on. It was just there.

In Pirates there's a moment between Will and Elizabeth towards the ending, after the battle in the cave and Sparrow points out that Will missed his moment - that's pretty much how I see that meeting in the caves between Teyla and John. There was a moment and then it was gone, forgotten.

Perfect.

And Daniel/Janet in SG1.

You may be onto something there. You know when they resolve a ship someone has to die. So if Sheyla had become canon, Teyla would have been history. Or actually the way things were going, maybe they would have killed off John and made Teyla the leader. LOL

Oddly enough my husband said the same thing about the cave scene. A moment. It passes.

We are working our way through S4 and today was SOW. Once again I said it was very Sheyla heavy if you wanted to see that but he argued with me. He said John was just being a concerned leader and was upset that she withheld info. *shrugs* I'm a good one for seeing other ships even if I don't want to. Maybe it wasn't their intent at all to show ship other than friendship between them. I sure wish they had made it clear. *remembers Mal/Zoe*

Going into full-blown leader mode and dressing her down in public like that sure doesn't look like even friendship to me. Just a commander dealing with one of the people under his command acting in an irresponsible manner, nothing more. *shrugs*

Dang, I missed a bunch today. First, I never thought Shep would make bird colonel. He'd probably up and *beep* off the IOA and they'd made sure he stayed as a bottle cap colonel.

Trouble going from idea to plot setting, I just start writing. If I like it, it stays. If not, I just mash the delete button. Everyone's different; some use outlines and some don't. Some add notes in different color font to keep continuity. And sometimes, something cool pops in your head and ya run with it. Like right now, I have the inkling to write a short song fic based on "The Return pt 1" supper pics. But I think folks are getting sick of Buddy Holly. (The songs are short, easy to use for fics.)

"Doppleganger" was one of those episodes that has some cool moments, and some dumb ones. Like killing Kate. I didn't see how that advanced plot or added drama. Didn't see humor in it either. Which is part of my hypothesis to never be a Doctor (Ph.D or M.D.) on stargate, they get killed off.

With so many pics of Lizzie, I have to go glue my exploded heart back together.

EDIT: LOL yup you were very helpful...and then at Karaoke this past Saturday, I sang "I Touch Myself" by The Divinyls....and um...yeah...this fic is pretty much writing itself!

There are a couple things about Doppelganger which I liked. Personally I thought it did add a great deal of gravity to the situation and it certainly helped with the darker feel of season 4. Which was one thing that I did like about that season.

I have to say I was mildly shocked that they did kill Heightmeyer off. I think my exact words were "Oh my God! They killed the therapist!" I know it does invoke some mixed feelings, but I got the feeling from this that it was one of the less awful ways to kill one of the characters. At least by the standards the show often set. *cough* Ford *cough*

But uh... funny? How was it funny? Maybe for a writer with a sadistic sense of humor.

But the IOA doesn't have a say in whether he's promoted or not. Sure, they can complain if he does something they don't like, but ultimately, it's up to the Air Force. And given that the military doesn't seem to like the IOA's tendency to butt in and micromanage everything, I could almost see them promoting Sheppard just to piss the IOA off. Especially if Jack O'Neill is leading the charge.

The way they killed Kate stunk. Like pkprd869 said, it didn't advance the plot at all. It was just there for the shock value. While I also enjoyed the darker tone of Season 4 (and especially the darker turn that Sheppard took), they could have easily refrained from such unnecessary deaths without lessening that darkness at all. And frankly, with all the dark and terrible things that the team faced that year, they would have been better served by having Kate alive and well to help them deal with events. Just imagine scenes where Teyla could've gone to Kate to talk with her about her pregnancy, her search for the Athosians and her fears about never finding them, etc. Grrr.

The way they "killed" Weir was just as bad in its own way. We don't even know if the real Weir is dead or still alive, all we've seen is one clone unconscious or dead, and one possible Replicator duplicate spaced. The story was left so open-ended that we don't have any more resolution with her than we do with Ford. Her plotline wasn't advanced, it was just pointlessly dragged sideways for a while, then kicked aside.

Sadistic is right. Sadistic to our sanity, that is.
