Hey, there sparkyes how are you all? I hope fine.

I think it´s kinda funny I saw on the news that some shops are beginning to sell christmas decorations and stuff lol they always start early here.

and I don´t know why but for some reason I want to listen to christmas songs all of a sudden..... maybe it´s because I finally got my christmas CD´s that I had ordered on Amazon earlier this month.

I started my list "gifts that I want for Christmas " in June and since 1 week I already have gifts for my brother and nephews.lol I start my shopping now because in November, December and January, there are a dozen birthday in my family (we are a big family) and my bank account would not survive if I expected to start in November to buy gifts.lol

And because you're talking about this. We can sing a Christmas song together.lol

Ok I will go to bed. I hope I will find my question tomorrow.lol
      Have a nice day/afternoon/morning/night/wedding (lol)

It's Sparky day! We need a game or something special to do, no?

        And I don't remember my question....lol
Heh! We try to do something special for Sparky Day, but we haven't always kept up with it, either.

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon. Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.

I didn't realize it was so close! *jumps up and down* I'm so excited for you! What does your dress look like??

I might do Sparky Santa this year. Are the requirements up yet?

I hate that, but it has a purpose. It was explained to me by our merchandising department the first year I worked in Macy's that all stores put up decorations and play Christmas music in October because it reminds you you need to shop for Christmas. I guess marketing wise it makes sense. But...

Anuna, congrats on the wedding being so soon! I went to one yesterday. It was nice (even though it took place outside and it was FREEZING).

Thanks for the comments on the drawing everybody! And I'm still open to ideas for the next one in the series, so if you have one let me know.

And here's that ficlet I talked about doing to go with this one. Enjoy!

              Spoiler:
              Halloween

“I can’t believe I let you talk me into this,” said Elizabeth as she looked at herself in the mirror. “You do realize that as leader of this expedition I’m supposed to maintain a certain amount of dignity?”

John smirked and moved to stand next to her. “Oh come on, you look great!” She caught his glance in the mirror and gave him a look, her green eyes narrowing slightly. “Really!” he laughed. “And you’ve got to admit the parallel is pretty perfect. You’re both diplomats, you both...”

She raised an eyebrow at him and paused as she adjusted the heavy silver chain draped around her neck. “What? Have a weakness for handsome pilots?”

He grinned. “There is that too.”

Elizabeth felt the corner of her mouth twitch in the beginnings of a smile as she turned her attention back to her own reflection and began fussing with the sheer white cape draped around her shoulders. The cape was attached to the front of her sleeveless floor length white gown and fell in billowy folds past the silver belt fastened around her waist.

“And hey!” said John, hooking his thumb around the worn brown leather gun belt slung around his hips. “Think about it this way: at least you don’t have cinnamon buns for hair.”

He did have a point. When Elizabeth had first heard what his plans were for their costumes, she had immediately set down a list of conditions, her hairstyle being the first one. She had foregone the traditional twisted buns in favor of wearing her hair loose around her shoulders, the brown curls half pinned back with a silver clip. And as a further flouting of tradition, she had chosen to wear the ceremonial gown featured at the end of ‘A New Hope’ instead of Leia’s more widely recognized hooded ensemble.

She crossed her arms and turned away from the mirror to look at him, unable to keep from smiling. “True.” He was wearing a long sleeved cream colored shirt unbuttoned at the collar, a simple black vest over it, with dark pants and knee high black leather boots. The only thing about his appearance that wasn’t a complete copy of Han Solo was his wild hair. She had to admit, as far as finding a compatible fictional character went, John had chosen a pretty perfect fit.

“So, what did Rodney say when he found out who you were dressing up as?”

“Not much. He just said something about how going as Captain Kirk would be more appropriate.”

              “So he doesn’t know?”

“That you’re my date?” John shook his head and smirked. “No. But I think people will figure it out pretty quick, don’t you?”

Elizabeth smiled. “Well, the coordinated costumes do kind of give it away.”

              “Not too subtle?”

She walked up to him and wrapped her arms around his neck with a smile. “This city is full of the smartest people in two galaxies. I think they’ll get it.”

John grinned as he looped his arms around her waist and kissed her. They broke apart a minute later and started walking towards the door. “Still, he began, “the costume’s not completely right though. I tried to get Ronon to dress up like Chewbacca...”

              “You didn’t!”

“Nah. I don’t think he gets Halloween very much. I almost got him to wear the bandolier though.”

Elizabeth just shook her head. “Closet geek,” she accused playfully, glancing over and meeting his eyes.

A grin spread across his face and there was a spark in his eyes as he swiped his hand over the control panel and gallantly waved her through. “Yeah...” He followed after her, walking with true Solo swagger. “... but you know you love me anyway.”

Elizabeth laughed and rolled her eyes, threading her arm through his. “Come on Han. Let’s get this over with.”

LMAO! Yeah, why can't you have the big badass speakers?

Actually, I got a pair of Bose speakers with my new computer. Just the two speakers, no subwoofer, so no floor shaking, but they do shake my desk when they're turned up and the sound quality out of them is amazing!

Getting back to the current holiday season, I just watched Trick 'r Treat on Blu-ray (on said computer, with said speakers). Damn. Best. Halloween. Movie. EVAR! It is a crime that it was sent straight to DVD instead of getting a theatrical release first.

I can just see everyone in Atlantis gathered in the rec room on Halloween night to watch this one. Lizzie, of course, would be all cuddled up in John's lap and squealing and grabbing him at all the scary parts.

Bose was what I had in mind. We have the Bose system in our family room and sometimes it's like you're right in the middle of a movie. And if you turn them up, they rattle the windows.

I love big sound. I've tried sneaking in a subwoofer a few times to our big screen TV, but my parents eventually figure it out and make me disconnect it. They don't like big sound.

No Halloween? No All Hallow's Eve or anything?

I love Halloween. It's generally one of those holidays that doesn't put too much stress on me because it requires very little planning, not much spending of money (unless you go all out for a costume/decorations) a week of fun stuff (like carving pumpkins) and tons of rewards (seeing hundreds of kids dressed up in cute costumes...*SQUEE*). And I love the atmosphere--kinda spooky and dark.

I enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas is my favorite holiday season, but there is SO MUCH that goes on during it it almost doesn't become fun when the actual holiday days arrive...

*sigh* I would love to. But, and I hope you'll understand, posting here is fun, and must take second priority to 'work' and 'real life'. I haven't been able to work on any kind of recap during the last few weeks because we're in the middle of football season and pretty much every hour is devoted to some piece of creative I have to do. The recaps take anywhere from 2-4 hours to put together, and I can't find the time to work on them like I did before. I can pop in here for minutes at a time as I'm waiting for art to save or load (that can take up to 5 minutes sometimes!) but otherwise when I visit here I'm generally skipping in and out.

I have a laptop and have tried to do it at home, but to do them accurately I need transcripts, and more importantly, my picture album, both of which are online. Weekends are my errand time, since my workdays are pretty much 10 hour days and I can't run around during the day.

I'm not trying to make excuses, just explain why they're so few and far between now. My hope is that football season will wind down enough in the next few weeks to let me piecemeal LL, TMC and GITM together. I promise I'm not slacking off. I work on Testament in the hour before bed and the hour after an exercise class on Saturdays. That's all I get.

                            Congrats on 1200, BTW!

I think I will do Sparky Santa this year!!! SK, will you beta for me?

No Halloween. The life in France is sad huh?lol Some people decorate their houses for Halloween. Some kids try to celebrate this day but it's rare.
I forgot one big day. The 8th december where I live, we put candles in windows or balconies. It is the "festival of light" and a sort of Christian celebration (a way to thank Mary because the plague didn't touch our city).
Some pics of my city this day.

Halloweeen over here isn't what it used to be since we got so politically correct and overly cautious. Now when I was a kid, it was awesome. *waves cane*

And those pics are amazing. Lovely city.
