It's too early to give an opinion on SGU but for the moment SGA is better. "Rising" was excellent (action, humor, excellent characters, bad guys,...) but SGU was...."good". SGU is too dark and not really Stargate. I'm glad with SGA (even if I don't like the last seasons). But maybe I will change my mind about SGU.

Time to watch GITM with mom. Adieu...lol

SGA was fine as it was for the first 2 seasons and up until Sunday on the 3rd. SGU may be a show done by the same people with some of the same mythology, but it's not Stargate as we knew it.

Well, I tried to understand the French dialogue but only got a few words.

Anyone else having trouble with the 'quote' system on the forum? I'll quote about 4 posts and only one shows up with the 'reply' button.

Okay--so, I've tried doing Sparky Snark for Grace Under Pressure about 4 times, and I just can't quite find the snark for it yet. It's HARD! I think because so much of it is Rodney talking to himself. So, any other eppies for a snark request? I'll keep trying, but I want it to be funny, not forced.

I'm so glad it's FRIDAY... *headdesk*

I think because so much of it is Rodney talking to himself. So, any other eppies for a snark request? I'll keep trying, but I want it to be funny, not forced.

I would suggest Submersion if no one else has a must do one. My husband and I watched it yesterday and both had forgotten how truly enjoyable it is. It also seems to be the first one in which they forgot to pay the light bill. And lots of Sparky.

Yes, I agree, one of my faves. That one should be easier. I can't explain what makes it 'easy' to write a Snark script, just that the lack of secondary characters for GUP was harder. Plus, Submersion has lots of fun kitschy stuff concerning the Wraith Queen, lighting techniques and directing that will be fun to snark on.

We were talking about my drawing. Falcon asked me to do a drawing with John and Elizabeth front of the gate and with "Just Married" write in it. I said that I will try to do one.

Ok guys. I just watched GITM with mom (and dad for 5 minutes lol). Give me time to do my report and I will post it later.

GITM

First, I want to say that I risked my life but because it’s for you, I did this.LOL

Before the episode:
Mom: “Ok I’m ready for another episode. It will be great and not boring.”
Me for myself: “Oh mom, If only you knew….”
Space:
Great effects. Very beautiful. Mom liked “flying monkeys”. They have troubles.
City:
They still have a problem.
Mom: “Ok, the story is a problem with the city. Atlantis has a soul or something like this and she/he/it wants to talk with the expedition.”
Me for myself: “It’s exactly this. The soul of Atlantis wants to talk with the team.”
Control room
I tried to find a way to escape but it was too late. I have gained distance with my mother. Enough distance to avoid the blows. lol
Computer:
Mom saw the word “help” and she said “Oh I knew that someone tries to talk with them.”
And the famous scene where we saw “Elizabeth Weir” on the computer….
Mom: “oh god! She’s back!!!!!!” She was a little excited. She looked at me with an evil look of course (I didn’t say that Elizabeth is in this episode). A look where we can see “I’m your mother so I don’t will beat you but don’t do this again.”
“SHEPPARD: So we've been told.” Mom: “I know he still have hope. Even if he did nothing in the past.lol”
He has a sweet (French) voice when he said that. I don’t remember how Joe said this line in English. Yes we watched this episode in French.
And after, big silence. Mom was focus. We only heard the “Elizabeth’ song”
Rodney’s lab:
First thing I want to say the French voice for Elizabeth/computer is horrible. Very horrible.
Second thing: mom was happy when Elizabeth said “Who's there with you? Is – is John Sheppard there?” Yes mom, Elizabeth didn’t forget her priority. lol
Nice little reference to “the Eye” with this line “It's so good to hear your voice again.”
John is sad when he remembers the day he left Elizabeth.
Mom: “Rodney looks at John to see his reaction. He knows it’s hard for John.”
Again big silence.
Leather Elizabeth: Dad “Oh yeeees I really like her.”
“You're the only friends I have” A little tear on my eye. Yes I have a heart sometimes.lol

Balcony:
Mom: “Why John is so cold? He seems not preoccupied by her. I can understand Ronon. He doesn’t want to be hurt again. Rodney wants to fix his mess so he wants to help. But John…
Dad: “It’s the leader who talks here. Rodney and Ronon talk with their feelings. John doesn’t want to be more hurt so he protects himself. He prefers to not believe it and save the city. If he believes it’s her, it will be hard for him to handle his feelings and pain. This guy is the closest person to Elizabeth. I can’t be clear. An example. Imagine you’re dead and you’re back to my life in another body. I don’t want to believe you because I still in pain and I don’t want to take the risk to be hurt again. If I lower my guard, I might be destroyed again if it’s not the real you.”
Mom: “Ronon has almost the same reaction.”
Dad: “It’s different. He used to lost people. He can handle this. He already say “goodbye” to Elizabeth. John, no.”
He left the room after that because he said “this show has a bad effect on me. I talk like a girl. Next step: we will talk about hair.”
I think he left the room for crying.lol
Later:
When my mom saw Fran “Who is she? Where is the real one?” Explanation of Rodney and mom “So we have a chance to see the real one in the future.”
Me for myself: “Dad, wait for me. Don’t say anything. Your life is in danger if you said it’s the last episode of Elizabeth.”lol
Mom: “Poor Elizabeth. She’s rejected by everybody. Poor Rodney. He feels guilty. He’s not easy for him too. Stupid John. Say something.”
Cell/Isolation room:
Mom: “She thought John is the father. Hey no, he can’t forget you. Love the fact that Teyla says “no” very quickly. She tried to confort her.”
John is back. “FRAN/WEIR: It's OK. I understand. Amazing news about Teyla.
SHEPPARD: Yeah. (He frowns.) »
He lowered his guard two seconds. The real John is there but in two seconds the leader is back. I like the explanation of my father.
Control room:
Replicators are back.

AND TO BE CONTINUED (but later because I have something to do first)

John and Elizabeth share intense looks. I don’t search for pictures because I don’t have time but you understand me. Maybe I will or you will do this later.lol
Elizabeth's office: (Yes it's her office)
Mom: “Yes let her to do what she wants. She will have her real body. She will happy. John will be happy. Everybody will happy and the end.”
Me for myself: “I have to leave this room before the end of this episode.”lol
Corridor:
“SHEPPARD: Or what if one of them decides to stay? (Richard looks at him, knowing which one he's referring to.)”
Mom: “He wants to keep her. I want to see what will happen after this. I think I start to like this season.”
Me for myself: “Ok the door is too far from me. She will understand that something horrible will happen. The window is near from me but it’s risky…Stay quiet and smile.”lol
Later with Koracen, John and Elizabeth:“SHEPPARD: You may still think that you're Elizabeth, but you're not.”
Mom: “ow, this isn’t nice for her. She’s hurt.”
She saved him.
Last scene:
Mom: “If I understand correctly, she goes on a new planet. So we have a chance to see her again. The real one will be good.”
Me for myself: “Window or mom…Window seems less risky.”lol
THE LOOK between John and Elizabeth let my mom speechless.
Big silence
Mom was focus on the episode. When she saw John sad and alone and Elizabeth in space, she was shocked.
End of episode
And big scream “WHAT? OH NO NO NO NO!!!!” It was my mom, not me. “Oh NO!!! It can’t be the end. Oh come guys. Who wrote this? We have a beautiful confirmation of their feelings at the end of this episode with their look and we have what…. Elizabeth floating in space? It's a joke. Tell me she will be back.”
Me: *small voice* no…
Mom: Ok they screwed the show until the end. Ok they can’t put Elizabeth and John together. I can understand but….please don’t kill her like that. They can’t let her in space. She saves their lives more than once and they let her like this? I can’t believe this. No one will take a jumper and just take her?” and blablabla…She talked a lot. She was really angry.

Conclusion:
She hates and likes this episode (I think like everybody).

We all loved it thanks to John and Elizabeth (I add Rodney because I really love him here) but we hated it because of the end. Not a conclusion for Elizabeth.

I think my mom won't watch an episode of SGA soon.lol

Thanks for the recap. This was your best yet. I think we all agree with your mom. It was a love/hate relationship with GitM. It helps only a little to remember all the non-shippers who agree with us after this one. I think we got our confirmation of deep feelings between them. And as someone said who's a secret Sparky, if you didn't think John Sheppard cared about Elizabeth Weir before, you certainly do now. Whether it's love or not is arguable but there's no doubt he cared for her.
