*giggle* I thought he was royally bored in that ep because that girl was geekier than Rodney. And it wasn't fun kind of geeking. And yes, then she left him for a plant. Poor boy!

        drew is fine!

as for the kirking thing....it's a staple of sci fi shows, i get that, and for the most part i can deal with it ('course, i threw a pillow at the tv when Anise kissed Jack in D&C and called her some names... and I got squiked out when Narim kissed Sam....but anyway....) yea, he's a boy, yea he's human, yea, he's HOT and the girls will want him and he'll give in from time to time. I'm fine with that....I think that in Sanctuary my issue was more her...she just i dunno rubbed me the wrong way....I found myself agreeing with Rodney that there was more than met the eye with her (and of course there was and of course Shep didn't see it....blah blah blah....)

on hugging: SR, I think I should have been raised in the south and not up here in PA...I'm totally a "hug people I don't know" kinda girl....

Probie, me and SR are probably the biggest country music fans on this thread. I'm gonna rec few performers to you, and I'm sure SR can add to the list.

Brad Paisley is awesome - check out his song Waiting on a woman -- this song is beautiful, very emotional and moving. Brad usually tells heartfelt stories in his songs.

Dwight Yoakam is probably one of the most talented contemporary country music singers - even Johnny Cash thought so His song Things change is probably one of the finest country music tunes. Check out also She wore red dresses. It's a sad song, but one of the best I know.

          Gillian Welch
is also worth listening - she's quite unique and I don't really know what her style is called. Check out One little song.

I got completely hooked on Emmylou Harris thanks to SR. She's awesome (SR is awesome too!). Someone wrote she could take anyone's song and make it her own, and I concur. Check out One of these days, a classic country tune. I could rec a TON of her songs, and her album with Makr Knopfler in particular.

          Alan Jackson
is also good to listen - easy going songs, GREAT vocal, fun music - here's Itty bitty (or whatever the correct spelling is).

Okay, I'm done for now, someone else add more awesome country musicians to this list?

            Anuna....you gotta add....

            Martina McBride

            Rascall Flats

            Toby Keith

            Garth Brooks

(and I dunno if anyone else considers him country, I guess I kinda do) Jimmy Buffet

Brooks and Dunn (so sad that they've split up )

and I'm sure I'll think of more....I love country music!

When I watched this episode, I thought about this girl "Come on! Are you blind? Drop this flower and jump on him. Stupid girl. You have an opportunity with a hot man. If I was you,...."

Exactly! I don't have problem with that except when it's too much (Yes Mister Mallozzi, I'm looking at you and your Travellers.lol)

Oh and make sure to listen to El Paso by Marty Robins.

Speaking of Marty Robbins, SR, where is your "Big Iron" vid? we could use a good giggle.

I could add a million more. Don't forget Allison Krauss and Sugarland.

And speaking of country I finished the new wallpaper in record time which may be a bad sign. This is from an Emmylou Harris song called "Diamond In My Crown". So very angsty.

One of my nicknames (yes I have a lot of nicknames lol) in high school was Monk.lol It was "Don't hug me or I will kill you". LOL I only give a loooot of hugs to my nephews and niece.
But with time (and under the influence of alcohol lol), I let myself approach.lol
No seriously, I'm very similar to John for this.
I am too. Not very touchy-feely about things, I'm sorta unsouthern that way. That's just my personality; I'm not standoffish, but I am just not a hugger. I'll hug you back, and I'm not completely awkward like John.

I guess I'm like Elizabeth, I'll hug you when it counts, but that may only be twice in my lifetime.

                          I'm a hug person.

I remember a class in psychotherapy - there was a really large group of people. We were sitting and listening to him when he told us to get up, go to someone we never talked to and hug them. (he said, if we couldn't then we couldn't be therapists either). it was hilarious and a little awkward and it made me realize that getting in touch and relating to a person is sometimes uncomfortable. You ahve to deal with it, in order to do therapy.

                          Okay, ramble over
