    And happy isn't really the way I meant it. It would be overwhelming. Obviously.
    But yet... hmmm... not sure how to describe it... The happy really only is for the first millisecond, then feelings will become overwhelming.
    See, I know how I would react... or at least I think I know how I would react, but I'm quite sure John and Liz would react completely differently, especially with what they went through.

      Like everyone else, I also think they would both be happy that the other is alive. But there would be sadness at the time they could've had together but have lost. John would certainly feel guilty for not being able to help her; perhaps even moreso know that he knows that she's alive. Elizabeth would feel guilty for not doing more to try to find him afterward... or maybe she did try, and for whatever reason kept just missing him or something; I could see her viewing that as a personal failure, though I agree with you that she's not one to wallow in it. She'd feel it for like, two seconds, then snap herself out of it and think, 'he's here now, and damnit, I'm gonna help him,' or something like that.

      They'd probably dance around their feelings for a while because they wouldn't want to upset the other, but something would break the dam and everything would come out in a big, dark, angsty rush. Followed by lots of 'making up for lost time' sex. (Hey, it's Smut Day, gotta get the smut in somehow!)
