        Excellent and very entertaining report. And no, things don't look that great for SGU.

        I haven't bought either of them, but I found a copy of Angelus in the bookstore and I sat down on the floor and skimmed through every. single. page. of that book looking for Elizabeth's name. About halfway through when Elizabeth had only been mentioned once (even though Carter has only been in charge for three weeks) I considered just giving up (I mean, come on, the entire plot revolves around Replicators, but we can't mention the former leader who was half Replicator and then captured?!), but I kept at it and my persistence was eventually rewarded.

        Basic plot: Ellis and the Apollo pick up this guy who claims to be an Ancient. He's convincing and they take him back to Atlantis where he tells them his story, inspires sympathy, gains trust, etc. Long story short he's not what he seems and creates some kind of hybrid Replicator virus thingy that threatens to destroy the city. Moving on.
        Finally in the latter half of the book they brought her up more. Finally. The first time she got a decent mention (meaning, more than just her name in passing) was a very nice scene where Carter and Sheppard are walking down the hallway, and Sam looks at John and realizes how difficult the situation must be for him because he was closer to Elizabeth than anyone else. And then it goes into how she sacrificed herself and what happened to her. So when I read that I was placated (and the first decent scene is a Sparky one! woohoo! bonus points!). Cause I was getting a little upset with that book at that point.
        And then in the climax John and Angelus are facing off, and Angelus is taunting him about how he used Elizabeth's memories to get in the city, and John thinks about how Elizabeth shouldn't be used that way and then that spurs him on to defeat the bad guy. Yay!
        So there were two moments that I counted as Sparky. Maybe the plot was decent, I don't really know. (Frankly there seemed to be a bit too much of Colonel Ellis in it for my taste.) Again I don't really know if it's worth to read the whole book just for those small moments (even though admittedly they were good moments). I gathered from my skimmings that things really didn't get going until the last half of the book (*cough*when they mentioned Elizabeth*cough*), but that is by no means an accurate assumption and probably stems from my severe bias where Elizabeth is concerned.
        So I'll leave that decision up to you.
        Thanks for that! While reading a post Lifeline story all the way through would be like watching Season 4 for the minor Elizabeth mentions (in other words, I'm probably not going to do it) I am glad to know there's a part of her mentioned in the book and it incites some sparkage. Especially that line between John and Sam, that almost hold weight with GITM's "what if one of them wanted to stay". *sighs and pinches bridge of nose* Why is it that everyone under the known sun, including Fandy authors, at least acknowledge they have a bond while TPTW continue to fight it?

            I'm am shooting to watch Sunday either today or tomorrow so I can FINALLY pick up the recaps again. I've been way too much a slacker.

                    My guess is, TPTW are a bit oxygen deprived because they've had their heads stuck in the sand for too long. In the middle of summer. Gee, I hope someone called an ambulance, 'cause they sure need help, quick!
