It's a horrible day. My coworker died this night. It's hard to work today. All my coworkers are crying and I have to announce his death to his customers. It's very hard.
I'm so sad for his wife and his children.

John Sheppard stood on the balcony gazing at the moon and stars over Atlantis. Another mission come and gone. Another planet come and gone. Another woman come and gone. John’s mind drifted to a special woman that left him.

McKay would always make jokes about his philandering ways. Until she left, the “Kirk” references never bothered him. John would never let it show, but now the comments felt like slaps in the face. He pondered why his heart would hurt for that woman. “Did she leave me, or did I leave her?” John questioned. He would be content just to have that special woman around tonight.

I want you to be near me

All the regrets played themselves out like an old black and white movie in front of John Sheppard. The hands they could never hold. The kiss they could never share. The words they could never say. John thought about what he would say if he ever saw her again.

“What would she say?” John wondered as he leaned on the railing of the balcony. He thought she would feel the same way. The looks, the silent communication, and the trust they shared. But John Sheppard still was unsure if his feelings were shared.

John smiled viewing the memories they shared. The little quarks she had to her. The way her brow would raise as the subtle hint she was teasing. How her head would tilt slightly when something caught her attention. And her smile. He rarely saw her really smile. But that smile said so many things to him.

Now the balcony felt so... solitary. The place that was refuge for John became a prison. “A jail cell with a view,” John let a rueful grin out. “Prison is too cynical. More like a... sanctuary,” John needed to be optimistic. Their balcony became a place where all the things he tried to hide could be let loose. John’s memories of Elizabeth could be unlocked from his mind.

i really like the second one. that was very angsty and i feel sorry for john also this is my 900th Post! yay. one other thing how come im still a first lieutenant i thought i would least got promoted to Captain by now . oh well.

Exactly. You can also filter some people out of your rants and not everyone sees them. That's why I love LJ so much

Other than that, I think I discovered what the problem was, and the best thing to do would be to ignore it.

just read the story about torri higginson turning down to return in Ghost in the machine and quite frankly they screwed her. who's gives some a 6 year deal then just decided um hey we going to reduced your character from a full time cast member to recurring and bring in the main lead female character from SG-1 to replace you. >:0 man i hate TPTB sorry went off on a rant.

Lt Colonel John Sheppard: I'm new in the company. I work there since one month. I didn't know him very well but I talked with him. I feel "more" (and for him of course) sad for his family. He has two young daughters (2 an 5 years old) and for my coworkers. The circumstances of his death is horrible. He did a "ruptured aneurysm" and not a heart attack in the bathroom at 6pm. Nobody saw him and everybody thought that he left the company. His wife called the police at night and the guard of the company found him in the bathroom at 3am. Everybody feel sad and guilty because we didn't notice this. It's the most complicate to manage. My coworkers thought that if they found him soon, he will survive. And I have to annouce his death to his customers and some of his coworkers who was in vacation or in other company in France.
I 'm sorry to give you all the details.

Ok now I will stop to talk about this. It's a happy thread. Like my mom said "it's unfair but it's the life".

Thanks to everyone who liked my little stories. I've been a little quiet, but I've pretty busy the past few days. I start back at the steel mill Monday. Maybe I'll get to see Harvie and Hudson in October. I'll still be able to play, just not as much.

Yeah, I think you found it, Anuna. I'll probably post something on LJ just so I don't start ranting here. x) Basically, I welcome criticism and suggestions, but that's if they're constructive. When reviewers leave a comment that is either very pointless or actually doesn't have to do with the writing or story itself, but with my choice of pairings, then I just have to ask myself: Why do they bother? Why read it in the first place and get my hopes up that someone has left me some helpful advice, only to find the opposite? Okay, I'll switch over to LJ now, as this isn't the place to go on about this! But thank you for the concern.

I'm happy you have shared your experiences with us on here, instead of having no one to talk to. I pray for his family and for those who have to deal with the loss of their friend. And I believe you have the strength to share the news with everyone.

I've had a review like that a time or two, it's so annoying and is totally pointless if you don't like that pairing then don't read it, and if you don't like them and do read it, don't leave a review saying that you don't like that pairing I totally understand what you're saying *hugs* But remember don't think of that one review think of all the others that were very positive
