Except, it's not really angsty for me, just dramatic, 'cause I'm running around getting the last of my stuff together for the annual pilgrimage to San Diego for Comic-Con.

Well, it's pretty much the same as it was when you were here last; we still don't know when (or if) the movie is going to happen, we're still writing fics (Anuna, KrisRussel and I are all writing our own stories for this year's SGA Big Bang challenge), and the post-a-thon is on temporary pause while we finalize our list of Season 4 and 5 episodes we want to watch.

Final episode? Of the series? Yeah, that was back in January.

Final ep ever? Oh man have a I got a terrible blank then. Someone remind me what happened? PM me?

I spent yesterday afternoon watching a bunch of Atlantis episodes that I only ever saw once or twice and I noticed so many Sparky moments that I'd forgotten about. I watched a bunch, so I don't really feel like listing them all, but does anyone know of some episodes with good Sparky moments? Doesn't have to be flirty, like the tension in Hot Zone, but just scenes with just the two of them. Real World and Long Goodbye are obvious, but I can't remember them all.

Like SK said, there are so many Sparky moments...
I think that (almost) no matter what episode you see there are Sparky moments... And there's definitely almost always an eye!sex moment

It really was a Firefox problem... apparently more people have that problem since upgrading to 3.5.1. But it's a known bug, so hopefully it'll be fixed by the next upgrade. But if it's not, I now know hwo to deal with it

What Kind of Movie is This?

Elizabeth Weir looked at the pocket watch passed on to her by her father. 7:32 PM the heirloom read and Elizabeth sighed to herself. She promised John she would join the team for movie night at 8:00 PM. “That man can be so annoying. That messy hair and puppy dog eyes,” Elizabeth internally complained. Elizabeth enjoyed movies, but work came first. John Sheppard just kept bugging her about coming and putting on that pouty yet endearing face until she said yes.

Elizabeth closed her computer and leaned back in her chair. While contemplating if John would pick something like Rocky or Stagecoach, John Sheppard sat down in on the edge of her desk.

“Hey. Ready for movie night?” John grinned.

“As I’ll ever be,” Elizabeth dead panned.

“I think you’ll like tonight’s pick, it’s a classic,” John and Elizabeth began moving toward the door.

“It’s not about sports is it?” Elizabeth questioned as she tilted her head.

“No. We’ve been jumping around genres. Trying to get Ronon and Teyla a good introduction. Rodney picked 2001: A Space Odyssey and they liked it. So I decided to stick with the classics this week,” John explained as he and Elizabeth walked the hallways of Atlantis.

“What movie did you pick?” Elizabeth’s interest was piqued.

“Roman Holiday,” John answered proud of his taste in cinema.

“John Sheppard, didn’t take you for the romantic type,” Elizabeth smiled.

“Huh. Roman Holiday is a classic comedy,” John replied a little confused.

“Romantic comedy,” Elizabeth raised her brow.

“It is not. I wouldn’t make Ronon and Teyla watch a chick flick,” John snorted.

“Roman Holiday is definitely a chick flick,” Elizabeth began teasing John.

“No it’s not. It has Gregory Peck. Gregory Peck could stroll through fields of candy canes and fairies and make it manly,” John defended one of his favorite movies.

“Audrey Hepburn was in some of the most memorable romantic movies. Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Sabrina, My Fair Lady. Roman Holiday’s plot is romance,” Elizabeth saw the chance to tease John for once.

“Audrey Hepburn was a great actress. But in Roman Holiday, the movie is about laughs. Like when Peck spills his drink on his buddy and knocks his chair over, they all get arrested, and that hand trick is an all time classic,” John pointed out.

“Those are funny moments. But they all lead up to the kiss by the water and Peck and his photographer don’t sell the pictures. All the comedy is a build up to the romantic relationship,” Elizabeth countered.

“You only get that at the end. They never even say I love you. The parts people remember are the funny parts. And besides, standing up for your girl is the manly thing to do,” John was determined to win this debate.

“John, Audrey Hepburn is reduced to tears at the end. Gregory Peck is left alone in the final shot wondering how the romance would have gone. The last scene is all about secretly communicating feelings about a forbidden love. The movie is one of the all time great romances,” Elizabeth was savoring teasing John.

“Well...” John was feeling on the ropes when he saw Lorne walking his way. “Lorne, come here a sec,” John waived over Major Lorne.

“Good evening ma’am, Colonel Sheppard,” Lorne joined John and Elizabeth.

“Lorne, have you ever seen Roman Holiday?” John asked.

“Yes sir. Good movie,” Lorne answered.

“Major, would you consider Roman Holiday a chick flick?” Elizabeth joined in questioning Lorne.

“Ma’am...” Lorne tried to dodge the question sensing he was pulled into the middle of an argument.

“Well Major?” Elizabeth gave the Major that all too familiar look and Lorne knew he better agree.

“Roman Holiday was one the American Film Institute’s top ten romantic comedies,” Lorne answered.

“Lorne, you’re killing me,” John shook his head in defeat as Elizabeth and himself resumed walking.

“Thanks Elizabeth, way to ruin one of my favorite movies,” John slouched in defeat.

“Roman Holiday is still one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. Maybe next week I’ll pick When Harry Met Sally,” Elizabeth smiled.

John Sheppard stopped walking. He began plotting his revenge by deciding on Necessary Roughness as his next pick for movie night.

John Sheppard stood on the balcony gazing at the moon and stars over Atlantis. Another mission come and gone. Another planet come and gone. Another woman come and gone. John’s mind drifted to a special woman that left him.

McKay would always make jokes about his philandering ways. Until she left, the “Kirk” references never bothered him. John would never let it show, but now the comments felt like slaps in the face. He pondered why his heart would hurt for that woman. “Did she leave me, or did I leave her?” John questioned. He would be content just to have that special woman around tonight.

All the regrets played themselves out like an old black and white movie in front of John Sheppard. The hands they could never hold. The kiss they could never share. The words they could never say. John thought about what he would say if he ever saw her again.

“What would she say?” John wondered as he leaned on the railing of the balcony. He thought she would feel the same way. The looks, the silent communication, and the trust they shared. But John Sheppard still was unsure if his feelings were shared.

John smiled viewing the memories they shared. The little quarks she had to her. The way her brow would raise as the subtle hint she was teasing. How her head would tilt slightly when something caught her attention. And her smile. He rarely saw her really smile. But that smile said so many things to him.

no one could ask for more
you're mine to adore

Now the balcony felt so... solitary. The place that was refuge for John became a prison. “A jail cell with a view,” John let a rueful grin out. “Prison is too cynical. More like a... sanctuary,” John needed to be optimistic. Their balcony became a place where all the things he tried to hide could be let loose. John’s memories of Elizabeth could be unlocked from his mind.
