As for John "falling for" Larrin, I don't think he did. I think he was just playing the game to try to get the upper hand on Larrin in the situation he was in. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

As for SGA continuing if Brad Wright and Rob Cooper stayed in... Maybe, maybe not. Brad and Rob were still technically showrunners at the time the decision was made to reduce Weir to recurring for Season 4, so some of the responsibility for that mess rightfully belongs on their shoulders. And from all accounts, it sounds like BW was apparently the one driving the decision to cancel SGA in favor of bringing in SGU.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up. I'm REALLY bad with remembering what happened in lots of episodes, let a lone their titles. And I'll go with your explanation of the situation with Larrin.
That's awesome.
*supersqueal* Yay! I never get tired of seeing that.
Have fun on vacation!
Wow, I'm really in the dark about all the stuff that goes on with Stargate. xD So, Brad and Rob left the show for some reason? Sorry if that's way-old news.
Originally posted by KrisRussel View PostNo, they had done the 100th (which was 'Vegas' if I'm not mistaken). It was because all the fun things the SG1 cast got to do with the 200th ep that the cast were joking around about what they would be doing.
None of tptb told them it would never happen, even though they already knew it at the time.
But again, I only heard this through the con scuttlebutt... I never actually read it anywhere myself.

Hello folks. Well, I saw Houseboat for the first time yesterday. I don't know if it's a chick flick, but it has Carey Grant so I say no. The scene where Raquel Welch has pizza inspired this little diddy.
Spoiler:Pizza War
John Sheppard, Elizabeth Weir, Teyla, Ronon, and Rodney McKay found themselves walking the streets of Colorado with some rare free time. The I.O.A. recalled them back to Earth after another Wraith attack on Atlantis. Once the usual brow-beating and bureaucratic nonsense ended, the group decided to unwind before heading back to Atlantis.
“So we’ve covered beer, football, and Ferris Wheels. Now for another Earth delicacy; pizza,” John Sheppard explained to Teyla and Ronon.
“What is pizza?” Teyla asked.
“Delicacy, hardly. It’s dough, cheese, tomato sauce, and some other stuff thrown together,” Rodney explained.
“Just long as it has meat,” Ronon grumbled in hunger.
“Don’t worry Ronon. Pizza is very filling,” Elizabeth stated.
The group of friends walked for another few minutes until they stopped in front of two buildings. One read “Malizzio’s Chicago Stuffed Pizza Pizzeria” above the door and the other had “Franco’s New York Pizza” in the window.
“What’s the difference between Chicago and New York pizza?” Ronon inquired with an air of indifference.
“Hm, well New York pizza is a thin crust, made with tomato sauce, and has a layer of cheese and ‘meat’ on top.” Rodney made the rabbit ear quotes to mock Ronon’s early comment about meat. “Chicago pizza is made inside out I guess you could say. The crust in thicker and flaky, there is a real thick layer of cheese and meat, and tomato sauce on top. Some people call it deep dish because it’s about two inches thick” Rodney finished his examination on pizza.
“So... which one is better?” Teyla asked trying to comprehend the intricacies of pizza making.
“I like them both. I guess we’ll just have to try each one,” the scientist in McKay came out.
“Where do we start?” irritation coming out in Ronon’s voice.
John and Elizabeth had been quiet during the pizza dissertation by Rodney. John gave Elizabeth a lop-sided grin and Elizabeth playfully raised her brow and grinned in response. John headed to “Franco’s” and Elizabeth went towards “Malizzio’s”
“What are you doing?” John shrugged in surprise at Elizabeth.
“Me? I’m going for the best pizza,” Elizabeth shot John a cocky look.
“Hey, I thought we had an understanding back there,” John’s voice took on a whiny tone as he returned to the rest of the group.
“I though so too” Elizabeth joined John, Telya, Ronon, and Rodney.
“You like that goofy Chicago pizza? Really...” John’s brow furrowed in disbelief.
“I wouldn’t call it ‘goofy’. Since it’s actual pizza,” Elizabeth crossed her arms to ready herself for the debate to come.
“You can’t even eat it with your hands. Pizza isn’t supposed to require a knife and fork,” John made hand motions to correspond with what he was saying.
“People eat with a knife and fork. Folding pizza, now that is strange. Do you see anyone fold say... french fries? Or maybe hotdogs? How about donuts?” Elizabeth countered.
“So. Everybody else makes pizza with the sauce on the bottom and the toppings on top. Because they’re called toppings,” John was becoming passionate about defending his pizza.
“If everybody else does it must be okay. Your pizza ‘trying to be one of the cool kids’? By stuffing the pizza you get more cheese and meat. That’s what makes it better,” Elizabeth matched John’s intensity over pizza.
“But you just said everybody uses a knife and fork for other food. So by that rationale, my New York pizza is better because it’s different,” John put on a cocky smirk believing he trapped Elizabeth.
“Nice try John Sheppard. The point of that part of the discussion was to show that folding pizza is pointless. There’s no need to fold french fries, hot dogs, and donuts,” Elizabeth tilted her head and raised her after seeing John’s smirk disappear.
“Hey, you’re not even from Chicago,” John fired.
“And you’re not from New York,” Elizabeth shot back.
The two tried to the other down until John decided to speak.
“Well... New York pizza is just better,” John put his hands on his hip and placed a triumphant smile on his face.
“Please. I know I win if you’re resorting to that sophomoric tactic,” Elizabeth laughed.
“Sophomoric?” John repeated while his face contorted in confused.
“Google it later,” Elizabeth tried to hide her giggles at John’s face. “How about we settle this. We’ll bring pizza for Ronon, Telya, and Rodney to try. Which ever one they like more wins,” Elizabeth felt satisfied she put John Sheppard in his place.
“Fine,” John agreed.
“Fine,” Elizabeth mimicked John.
Ronon, Teyla, and Rodney watched the John and Elizabeth go into their respective pizzerias. Seeing their bosses argue over something as trivial had the group stunned and quiet. Ronon finally broke the awkward silence.
“Did that remind anyone else of their parents?” Ronon asked. Rodney and Teyla looked and what another and nodded in agreement with their friend.
“Oh, look. An ‘Outback’. Let’s get some steak,” Rodney led the Teyla and Ronon away leaving John and Elizabeth to their pizza war.
"I only understand about 1% of what she says half of the time."

Have a good vacay, Anuna!
I don't know who is 'directly' to blame for the decision to deep-six Elizabeth, but I think we can all pretty much agree that the Show Runners all had to have a hand in it, because decisions like that aren't 'fly-by-night'. I blame them all, even if some were 'nicer' towards Weir/Sparky/Shepard. In the end, no one came out and said "I didn't agree with letting Elizabeth go" and until someone does, I weigh their guilt equally.
But I'm glad for the nuances of things that writers, directors and actors wove into her goodbye stuff, to allow us fans to salvage something positive (the impact of Elizabeth's loss on certain people) from a horrible situation.Visit SGArising.com to read our virtual continuation of the Atlantis series!

Good morning, Sparkies! Happy Canon Monday! Well, not that canon is exactly 'happy' for us right now, but you get the idea...
Welcome to JamesKirk6179!Enjoy your stay, and don't mind what Kris says about the mints, they're fine.
pkprd869, your Pizza War fic was hilarious! Mmmm... pizza...
I wonder what other food-related rivalries John and Elizabeth might have... best hot dogs (Chicago vs. New York), best Philly cheese steak (Geno's vs. Pat's), best clam chowder (New England vs. Manhattan)... LOL!

Maybe it was only going on subconsciously, but she did see it. And she knew John would cave in if Elizabeth asked him to do this.
I read somewhere (don't remember where) that they claim Phoebus choose John because he was a worthy opponent.
Aren't we always told that Ronon and even Teyla are better fighters than John? So if she only choose John to have a worthy opponent, than why didn't she choose Ronon?
Just saying...

Most reality shows are completely fake and scripted anyway (especially wrestling) and also why is there "sport" and "horror" on the SCIENCE-FICTION channel?
Sorry for the ramble... it's just something that's been making me *headdesk*-ing for a long time now...

a new day, a new drawing (and not a report I know...lol)
I get bored at my job so I tried to improve myself. Here is a drawing of Elizabeth. I hope it looks like her. I could not do it properly because my boss would have killed me if he saw me and I have to work a "little". So I take 50min to do this in a small paper. Well I am a bit ashamed because my lines are not straight. I'll try to rework it and put colors. But tell me if it looks like her or if I must abandon forever the drawing. lol

Let me your comments please.

Of course it's not weird... There's some Sparky anime already out there, so no worries about that. Sparky is Sparky no matter what style
I heard there were still talks and jokes about what would happen during the 200th episode and during the 6th season only days before the cast finally heard the show got axed. No wonder they were surprised.
I had that same situation on one of my previous jobs. Boss calls me in his office on a friday afternoon. "You don't have to come in on monday anymore."
I was completely baffled. Especially when I found out all my colleagues knew and yet during the day they were still making plans with me for next week.
I felt betrayed in a way, so I can totally relate with the SGA cast on being left in the dark and finding out as the last ones...
It sucks.

This theory that BW and RCC would have made it so much better and given us Sparky doesn't make sense to me. These are the guys who conceived the whole concept of the show. They are the ones who cast Teyla as a "potential love interest" for John which was mostly her original purpose. Even though they handed the show over to JM and PM in the last two seasons they still stayed close and gave them notes on all the scripts. I doubt much was done without their approval. If you think RCC was the least bit leaning toward Sparky, just watch Doppelganger and you'll see where he was going. That ep was filmed first in S4 and was written before they found out RL was pregnant. IMHO it contains huge foreshadowing of where they planned for S4 to go. Thank the stars above that things changed.
Brad and Rob, like I said above, never really left. They stopped working on the show on a daily basis to do the SG-1 movies and develop SGU but were very much on top of things. Mallozzi's blog gave hints all along the way that they still had final say in a lot.
EatG was the 100th to air. Vegas was the 100th that was filmed and that was after they wrapped EatG. According to the commentaries TPTB had known for months that the show was canceled but chose not to tell the cast. They were filming Brainstorm and I think Infection when the news was delivered. I know the main cast was split up at the time. So when EatG was filmed they all knew.
Ah, so since Brad and Rob never really left, I can still blame them for what happened with Sparky. And I never knew they were thinking of making Teyla as potential love interest for John. x_X IMHO, just kinda proves that they thought any woman John came into contact with would immediately fall for him and they could make a story around that. *cough* Larrin *cough* Sorry, these are just my not-very-in-depth ramblings...

Would have been hilarious if you ask me...Aw, I miss Katie.

I love this! So funny! And Ronon's line at the end is the best.

I did a small drawing (just the head) of John and Sam and Elizabeth. I can't show you this because I laugh when I see what I did.lol*nods*
