Elizabeth Weir/John Sheppard Appreciation/Ship/Discussion Thread
Seeesh! I'm gone for a day and you wank the Blog of Doom. I miss all the fun! Blech!!!
Spoiler:
But you're absolutely right. JM's communication skillz stun me speechless. No, we really don't understand what leaving out two certain names means. How could it mean anything, published on a blog entry anyone with Internet connection can read? I mean, anything?
As always, JF and the things he says, the way he stands up for his colleagues, makes me feel very good. It's a great thing to see/listen to someone in show bizz with so much personal integrity and great personal values. Plus saying his mind. That man rocks and I heart him so much, just as I heart John.

We all heart those two. LOL Obviously what he said hit a nerve in some corners. Hee. Correct me if I'm wrong but from what I've always heard and seen JF has shown nothing but admiration and respect for his fellow actors, and risks his own reputation by sticking up for them. I'd admire him even if he was plug ugly. LOL
In case you don't know that expression, in the South it means worse than homely as a mud fence but not as bad as beat with the ugly stick. Or is it the other way around?

Ugh, I think my head hurts too much to properly decipher the meaning of Southern!speak. (but I get the gist anyway).

I've lived in the South all my life, but I'm not familiar with the expression 'plug ugly'. I think it might be a regional thing. I have, however, used the expression 'beaten with an ugly stick' because it's fun.

In some parts of Croatia, there's an expression that loosely translates into "ugly as horse's a$$"
I understand anything about what you say.lol "plug ugly, beaten with an ugly stick?"
"Ugly as horse's ass"...this is funny.
I finished watching Rising with my mother. She' s a fan of Elizabeth. I haven't influenced her. SR:If you want, she is ready to give you her analysis.
OT Star Trek:
Spoiler:
Today, I watched Star Trek with a friend. She is a fan of the franchise (Tv Shows and movies) and I know anything about Star Trek. I liked it, she hated it. She was very disappointed. I have a good time but it is not a movie that I will watch several times. It is very well done but the story is predictable. My friend wants now that I watch Tv shows and movies of Star Trek to understand why she was so disappointed. I don’t really want because the costumes make me laugh and I find it hard to watch the old shows. I know this is stupid. She will make me watch Star Trek: Next Generation first. It seems that this is the TV show that has less risk to make me escape. lol

Sig made by nephty and avi by Kris....THANK YOU!

Maybe you've heard "butt ugly"? And I forgot "ugly as homemade sin" whatever that means. Here's a little list that may help. Ya'll can keep it bookmarked for when I get confusing. Southern expressions
And I don't know if this one is on the list, but Sparky is cute as a speckled pup. Hee.

We're ready for your mama's analysis. Let us have it.
On Star Trek, I remember back in the day when it first aired on TV. A lot of us didn't much go for Generations because all of a sudden they stopped killing aliens and started talking them to death. It just depends on your perspective. I saw the movie with 3 Trekkies in their 50's who loved it and a couple in their 20's who had never seen any of the movies. They also loved it.

Now we're expecting your mom's analysis
On Star Trek:
Spoiler:
Your friend is prolly one of those few Trekkies who misses the TNG crew in the movie. Most Trekkies I know (from TOS fans to DSG, TNG, VOY and ENT fans) totally loved it. The people who don't like/love it or decide not to like it, are usually out of two categories:
Cat 1: They are TNG fans and want more TNG movies. They automatically dislike new movies that aren't with the TNG crew.
Cat 2: They are ENT fans and blame the franchise for killing off their fav show, so they want to dislike whatever the franchise releases and doesn't have anything to do with ENT.
And if you want to try a Star Trek show, I can recommend DS9 or Voyager. DS9 has a lot of the human aspect in it. It's also quite dark, but there's still a lot of humor in it.
And the Captain in Voyager is a strong woman. The guy playing the first officer is an a**hole, but the character is ok
I found it! It was from Creation's 2005 Stargate con in Burbank...
The con report is here; the report on the Q&A with Torri (and the pic), is near the bottom of the page. Looks like Torri's kissing the top of Michael's head, and even though Michael's looking down, he's got this absolutely demented grin on his face! So funny!
Oh, I loved reading that! It sounded like so much fun and makes me really want to go to a con! Loved the pics too. I also particularly liked Chris's comment about how bringing in different actors to read the same lines just doesn't work. *cough*season 5!*cough* And yeah, like was said, it really did seem like such a happy, almost golden, time (I know that's a little corny, but hey!) With all the disaster that's happened since then it's easy to forget that that was what it used to be like, that everything wasn't always screwed up. *sigh* But anyway, that whole thing was hilarious. I also liked it when Michael got up and handed out the dollars for the swear words. So funny.

Nice job with the angst, it was very sad, but I agree with what Kris and yunadax said about the length. But a good start!
These were great! I thought it was funny that she didn't have any shoes on in one of the pics. Haha. And the three of them looked pretty good together on stage I thought.

Heehee. Very cute. And as for that other Southern expression, being a North Carolina girl myself I'm pretty sure I've heard 'plug ugly' before. However it's not something you hear used that often.
Good afternoon, Sparkies! Happy Fluffy Thursday!
(and yes, Kris, I'm looking for a fluffy fic for you! )
yunadax... ZOMG!!!! John has trained Lizzie well... though one would hope there would be some sharp, rusty nails sticking out of that board she's got... heheheh... *evil grin*
Probie, thanks for more of those pics! Torri's so cute, heehee!
And I am positively laughing my arse off at the Southern expressions. Funny, funny stuff!

Corny, but true. It was the golden age of Stargate. Now... well... what can I say that hasn't already been said?

I watched 'This Mortal Coil' again just a little while ago. *sighs and brings out the woobie face* I kept yelling at the tv, 'lies! lies! she was misinformed, she's not dead! don't believe her!' Grrr... She's not!
But still... that ep just tears me up. His face, when he sees her walk into that camera... poor, poor John. And then the crushed look when he finds out it's not the real her. And poor clone!Lizzie!
And then the scene where the real John asks the clone team if they can help him find the real Elizabeth. The desperate hope in his eyes... Then the very end, when he tell Rodney he's going to have her stuff packed up, and he hadn't done it before because he thought they were going to get her back. *sniff sniff* Uhhh...
Annnywaaay...
I saw on a French site that Star Trek Voyager is the worst show in the Star Trek franchise. Anyway, I think I'll try to watch each shows even if the universe of Star Trek don't attract me for the moment.
Ok now I will translate the small analysis of my mother and I will post it in 5 minutes. Don't expect something extraordinary. Lol

I still can't watch TMC again because of all that. Joe and Torri knock it outta the park with the delicious angst-fest... but damn, it hurts too much to watch.

*snickers* I've read articles comparing the crash of the Star Trek franchise a few years ago to the downward spiral that the Stargate franchise is currently going through. They'd better hope they've got working parachutes!
