I got back from Fedcon and I had such a blast!! For the nearly ten years I've been going to cons (sjeez, has it really been that long?) this one is definitely among the top three... and actually on number one
The guestlist was amazing and they were all so sweet and kind... *grins stupidly*
Best thing of all: I don't know if any of you watch 'Eureka' but Colin Ferguson gave me permission to design his official site *is grinning sooooooo hard!!*

Anway, back to Sparky. Thank you all for the nice reviews on part 3, so now is about time for part 4. This story is actually growing much bigger than I first anticipated and especially much more AU... you'll see what I mean when I get there...
This part is kinda short, but the next one will be mind numbing and you're going to kill me for the way that one will end

      Have fun with part 4:

      Spoiler:
      Present
“Maybe we can get them all together again for our anniversary.” John said, sounding wistful as he rang the bell.
“I don’t think the IOA or the SGC will allow that. It was already a pain to get them all here for our marriage.”
He sighed and had the ugly feeling they would never see all of their friends again.
For now they had to wait to continue their conversation though as her mother opened the door at that moment.
      “Elizabeth! John…”
There was a small hint of contempt in her voice when she said John’s name. It made him inwardly cringe.
      “Mom.”
      “Jessica.”
“How are you doing, my dear?” She asked as she threw her arm around her daughter and pulled her into the house, leaving John to trail behind them.
“I’m doing great mom. John is taking really good care of me.”
      “Right.”
Elizabeth let out a mental sigh. She always said good things about John, but it never seemed to be enough for her mother. For the umpteenth time she wondered what her mother could possibly have against John.
Marc grinned as he saw his little sister and her husband enter the living room.
“Liz, you’re really starting to show.” He threw his arms around her and carefully hugged her.
“Yay for my ability to swell up.” She cheered sarcastically.
“You’ll always be beautiful.” John smiled as he wrapped an arm around her and kissed her temple. “Even if you swell up like a hippo on steroids.”
“John!” She laughed and playfully punched his shoulder. “Go put our stuff in the fridge.”
      “Yes, dear.”
“I’ll help you.” Marc said and walked behind his brother-in-law towards the kitchen.
Elizabeth let out a happy sigh and turned to face her mother who was sitting on the couch, the look on her face was difficult to define and she wondered what the older woman was thinking about.
Sitting down, she looked at her mother a bit more intense.
      “What’s wrong, mom?”
      “You seem happy.”
      “I am happy.”
      “Are you?”
Elizabeth was taken back for a moment.
“Yes, I am very happy, mom. I admit I miss our previous life on the base I can’t tell you anything about. But we help each other through that as John misses it as much as I do. Yet neither of us would trade our current lives to go back there. We aren’t able to give each other up.”
“You have to be careful who you give your heart to, Elizabeth.”
Elizabeth looked deep into her mother’s eyes, seeing emotions she never thought she would see there.
“Mom, what are you talking about.”
“He’s an Air Force pilot, Elizabeth.”
“Used to be, mom. He gave that up to be with me, remember? He absolutely loved his jobs and the crafts he used to fly were like his kids to him but he gave that all up. For me. Doesn’t that convince you of his good intentions?”
“You don’t know them like I do.”
“Then tell me, mom. Finally explain to me why you can’t stand the man who gave everything up to marry your daughter.”
Jessica Weir let out a deep breath. “Before I met your father, I was engaged to another man.”
Elizabeth was stunned. That was something she had not expected.
      “What happened?”
“He was an Air Force pilot. An amazing and cocky pilot. And I loved him so very much. But a month before our marriage I found out he’d been cheating on me with at least three different woman for at least the last half year. The worst thing was that he was proud of it, that his Air Force buddies were cheering him on because he was the perfect picture of a flyboy with 10 women wrapped around each finger. I’m just terrified the same will happen to you. I see how madly in love you are with John and I don’t want you to be shot down like I was.”
For a second John’s reputation shot through her head, but she shook it off faster than it appeared. He had explained it all to her, saying that yes, he had kissed Chaya and Teer and even that crazy Princess-chick. But he’d never had sex with any of them. He never had sex during his time in Atlantis. And she had believed him.
“John isn’t like that, mom. He isn’t like that at all.”
      “How can you be sure.”
“Mom, you can’t possibly imagine where we are coming from and what we lived through and I can’t tell you either, but believe me when I say that he’s not like that.”
Jessica slowly nodded. “Alright. Then tell me how much he goes out at night.”
      “Never.”
Now her mother looked skeptical. “Never? He never goes out for a drink with his friends?”
“No, because he always tells me that his true friends are still on the base. You met them at our wedding.”
“That weird bunch? The crazy scientist, that Scottish doctor, the wild man,…?”
“Yes mom. Those people are his and our best friends. I can tell you for sure that if any of them ever found out he cheated on me, they would kill him on sight. John does have some friends at Delta, but he barely ever sees them outside of work. The only ones we regularly see from our previous life are Jack and his wife Sam. That’s it and we usually go out for dinner. Jack and John never go out for a drink.”
“And who’s Jack?” Her mother questioned.
“Jack used to be an Air Force General and his wife Sam is still in the military. She leads the science Department in Cheyenne Mountain.”
“Do I want to know what’s in Cheyenne Mountain?”
Elizabeth smiled at her mom. “I could give you the cover story, but you would know it’s a load of BS.”
Jessica nodded, also supporting a small smile.
“John is a good man, mom. We love each other more than I ever thought possible. Just give him a chance, please and you’ll come to see what an amazing man he really is.”
      “I’ll try.”
“Thank you. That’s all I ask.”

“What was up with your mom today?” John asked once they were back in the car.
“What do you mean?” Elizabeth asked innocently.
“She actually began a conversation with me.”
      “What about?”
“That doesn’t matter… didn’t you hear me? She *began* the conversation! She never started a conversation with me before. She usually just tries to avoid me.”
“Maybe she finally came around to you.”
He looked at her skeptically. “What did you tell her?”
“Alright, we had a little chat and I understand why my mother was kind of biased towards you, but we talked about it.”
“Can I know what it was about?”
“Let’s just keep it to the fact that my mom had a very bad experience with an Air Force pilot before she met my dad.”
John nodded. It did explain a lot.
“I’m glad you convinced her to give me a chance.”
“Me too. Now our lives can finally get a bit of normalcy.”
He couldn’t help but grin at her. “You really think that will ever happen?”
“Don’t you dare curse it, John Sheppard.” She playfully glared at him.
“Wouldn’t dream of it, my dear.”
Krisrussel: Your fic is really great. I can't wait to see more especially the end (I promised not kill you).

Thank you everyone for your appreciation.

So I continue. I start with bad news. I found 2 photos ( including this one http://www.gateworld.net/gallery/dis....php?pos=-6251) and a comment on another ship in the magazine.

“It is well known, the heroes of the TV Shows often attract the favors of the ladies who surround him
This is the case of Sheppard which seems to be the subject of feelings, more than friendly, from Teyla and Elizabeth.”

Do not be worried. It's not much compared to sparky.

      To be continued…

Not to worry, it didn't say who John has feelings for. And we were used to those kinds of comments, but without mention of Elizabeth. After all, we were told over and over she's just his boss.

Ick ick ic, season one promo shots. Everyone looks so undernourished and tiiired, especially Elizabeth and John. Gosh, he also looks so tensed up in that pic you linked to. Much more relaxed here: http://www.gateworld.net/gallery/dis...bum=506&pos=21 -- I love that "we're equals" vibe they always seem to have. And here he's even closer to Liz: http://www.gateworld.net/gallery/dis...bum=506&pos=19 definitely relaxed and smiling.

But I think these beat everything:

                Best Sparky Quotes

                #1-40

                #41-59

                60. [for length]
                Spoiler:
                WEIR: How is Major Sheppard?
SHEPPARD (grimacing in pain): I'm still here.
WEIR: Hang in there, Major. We're working on the problem.
SHEPPARD: I know you are. Listen, uh, I'd like to say something while I still can.
WEIR: Don't! You're gonna get through this.
                (Sheppard smiles slightly.)
SHEPPARD: If I was ... he wouldn't have let me go.
WEIR: Who wouldn't have let you go?
                SHEPPARD: The Wraith.

FLASHBACK. On the Wraith planet, a Wraith guard approaches Sheppard and looks down at him. Sheppard is on his knees, unable to move, with the bug attached around his neck. The Wraith looks down at him for a moment, realises what has happened to him, turns and walks away.
                END FLASHBACK.

SHEPPARD: I guess he saw me as good as dead, ‘cause he just walked away, so ... (he clears his throat) what I wanted to say was ...
WEIR: Save your strength, John, and tell me in person.
                SHEPPARD: This is important.
(Weir sighs and closes her eyes.)
                WEIR: I'm listening.
(As Sheppard opens his mouth, Ford has an idea.)
                (38 Min)

                61. Length:
                Spoiler:
WEIR: I'm glad to see you've been released from quarantine.
SHEPPARD: Yeah. Well, I guess the nanites were too focussed on you to spread to me.
WEIR: I now realise just how insidious they really are. (She shakes her head.) I mean, if such a small number of them could do that to me ...
SHEPPARD: Let's just take it as a win right now.
WEIR: Alright. Still, I can't believe I was only out for five hours.
                SHEPPARD: Felt longer, huh?
                WEIR: Yes. A lifetime.
SHEPPARD: Well, it's good to have you back in the real world. ... At least, I think it's the real world ... I could be infected right now, which makes me the one ...
                WEIR: John ... don't.
                SHEPPARD: Sorry.
(He smiles at her, then walks away. Elizabeth watches him go, then looks down at what she's holding, running her fingers over her father's pocket watch.)

                62. BECKETT: Now, there are many aspects of human physiology that are quite useful: bipedal motion, opposable thumbs, large brain capacity ... but the human digestive system serves no purpose in the adult Wraith. So why have one at all?
WEIR: Because they eat normal food when they're young?
BECKETT: Exactly! Then at some point, they lose the ability to sustain themselves with that food.
SHEPPARD: So it's a teenage thing? Pimples, rebellion, life-sucking?
[Weir is wearing her ‘must you always joke?' face, then smiles slightly at Sheppard before turning back to Beckett.
                (Instinct)

                63. (Rodney, Ronon and Teyla leave the room. John walks closer to Elizabeth as the doors close. She tries to meet his gaze but then lowers her head in distress.)
SHEPPARD: You’re gonna be OK, Elizabeth.
(Elizabeth smiles briefly, then looks at him.)
WEIR: Still, I would like all of you to keep a very close eye on me, and the first sign of any suspicious behaviour, do not hesitate with that kill-switch.
SHEPPARD: OK, but that’s not gonna happen ...
WEIR (sternly): John, I mean it.
(They gaze at each other for a moment, then Elizabeth nods her head fractionally. Reluctantly, John nods back.) (Lifeline)

Hopefully that one hasn't been done already. *iz lazy*

“In parallel, the couple Teyla/Ronon gets closer in scenes where their characters are increasingly accomplices (i don't know if it's the good word sorry) and more united than ever”
"Accomplices" is a great word because that's just what they were most of the time. In most of S2 John referred to them as "TeylaandRonon" like they were one person. It got kinda funny. And naturally we thought they should be a couple because, after all, they had great chemistry. I love the way her face just lit up when she smiled at him and he looked so tender toward her. But alas, I have wandered off topic. Those two couples just seemed to fit together so nicely.

The magazine conducted a poll to find out what are the best 5 episodes (season after season 1 and 2) for the French fans. Here are the results.

                              Season 1:
5/ Before I Sleep (There is a commentary on the talent of Torri Higginson)
4/38 minutes (Reference to Sparky "the relationship etablished between Sheppard and Weir has not escaped the many fans of the couple.")
                              3/Rising part 1 and 2
                              2/The Storm and The Eye
                              1/The siege part 1 and 2

Season 2: For information,Season 2 is not a great success in France

5/The Lost Boys and The Hive
                              4/Duet

1/ The Long Goodbye (It's said that it is thanks to the kiss between Weir and Sheppard and the wonderful actress Torri Higginson that this episode is the first)

                                60. (for length)

                                (38 Min)

                                61. (for length)

                                64. (for length - First Strike)

                                Spoiler:
ATLANTIS. John runs over to meet with Elizabeth at the foot of the Gateroom stairs.
                                SHEPPARD: Hey.
                                WEIR: Hey.
(John waits until an expedition member has walked down the stairs and there’s nobody nearby.)
SHEPPARD: Colonel Ellis has asked me to join the mission.
                                WEIR: I know.
(They start to walk up the stairs.)
SHEPPARD: I was gonna stay behind in a cloaked Jumper after they launch the warheads; do some battle damage assessment.
                                WEIR: I know that too.
SHEPPARD: He told me that you called Woolsey and General O’Neill and tried to get the whole thing called off.
                                WEIR: Yes, I did.
                                SHEPPARD: They didn’t bite.
                                WEIR: They did not.
SHEPPARD: Look, I know you think we’re doing the wrong thing here, but, uh ...
WEIR: John ... (She stops and turns to face him. They look at each other for a long moment.) Good luck.
(She turns and walks into her office. John turns away, uncomfortable at going ahead with a mission which his expedition leader and friend does not approve of.)
                                (First Strike)

This one is sparky to me because Elizabeth seems (to me) to not only be disappointed in the decision to go ahead, but hurt and personally defeated by John's support of it. And, he seems so torn at participating in the mission when he realizes how much Elizabeth is disappointed in him being part of what she sees as a doomed mission. It's sparky because I think the depth of her hurt and the depth of his hesitation show that they were connected on more than a professional level.
