Thanks! *saves page to harddrive* The other one is a fic where John gives flowers to three women on his anniversary; first to Teyla so she can approve them as 'acceptable', then to Katie to make sure they're not poisonous, then finally to Elizabeth, his wife. Yeah, it's a cute one.

Which one of them would take all the wrong things? Any guesses? Or who wouldn't take the right things and have nothing but jeans to wear to a formal event? My husband can't seem to get the difference in dressy and casual through his head. He can't look in his closet and pick out the dressy pants. Is that a guy thing? How can you not know that? Or he can't tell his summer sport coat from his winter sport coat. Oh, I dunno, one is wool and thick and a dark color and the other is linen and thin and a light color. Men.

Now John, on the other hand, would walk out in torn jeans, a badly wrinkled shirt untucked in the back and scuffed shoes and still be the best looking man in the room. But he wouldn't notice all the women giving him the eye because all he could see would be Elizabeth.

John's been in the Air Force, with all the variations on uniforms depending on the occassion, long enought that he propably knows what clothes he needs for what situation so I don't see him packing the wrong things. However, I do imagine he's one of those men who hates to shop and isn't very good at coordinating things. So in the fic I have in progress he reluctantly goes shopping with Elizabeth, picks one of the suits she chooses and leaves selecting shirts and ties to go with it to her. I've based this on my parents - my father was fine with which sport coat went with which dress pants and had good taste in suits but was bad with coordinating them with shirts & ties beyond the basics (grey suit/white shirt/red or grey tie).

You're probably right. I can certainly see John being like that. But judging from what he wears on the show in his off hours and even the state of his uniforms, I don't think he pays much attention to his clothes other than to know if he needs a dress uniform or a tac vest. LOL.

Your mother was lucky. My son is good with all that stuff, at least somewhat, but my husband is just like his dad and they were both hopeless without their wives.
