Then why does the board of directors in Leuven get sacked and a new board is set up in the US? Cause I'm pretty sure that's what the news said, that's why I thought InBev was bought by Budweiser, because why else would they need to get a new board of directors in the US instead of in Belgium?
Or am I really that off?

It makes me really not want to watch SGU, just because I feel hurt.
Sorry for bringing this up here, but it is very upsetting to me.
I can't believe they think that! JF is one of the best actors the SG universe has ever had! There are more than enough scenes to prove that...
And what about David? He's an awesome actor... there's no one else who could have pulled off McKay so perfectly as he did...
Then of course there's Torri... who tptb kicked out way too early. She's also an awesome actress... Tell me one other SG actress who can portray a character that can silence an entire room with just one word or one look. She pulled it off perfectly!
*grumbles at GW for saying something like that* You should be ashamed of yourselves!

      Hi, Lucylee!

Believe me, you're not a troublemaker at all!

What GW said to imply that previous cast members have not been good actors... that's just so wrong. Here they are, raising such a fuss about not wanting people here on the forum to bash actors and crew, yet GW themselves are bashing the actors? That's so wrong! And yet given other past instances of hypocrisy, totally unsurprising.

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon. Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.

Okay. I figured that had to be when it was, but I'm still not remembering a field/meadow scene, which is why I was a bit confused.

Thank you for the compliment about our discussions! That's nice praise for us Sparkies.

I'm sad that he felt the need to say that, particularly as an interviewer, who is supposed to be generally unbiased. That's an uncomfortable position to put the interviewee in, having to criticize their fellow actors or completely hedge the answer altogether.

There are certainly actors on more 'mainstream' shows who I consider much less talented than our SGA or SG-1 main casts. Personally I've found that the main actors on SG series, even without 'deep drama,' have always been good at their jobs. For me, they had this way of really selling their characters that was convincing--and I believe that's what really kept people watching more than the writing or shows all around. I admit to each of them having their quirks, or perhaps things they could improve upon, but overall they did great jobs with what they had to work with. If there were inconsistencies or stagnation in their performances, that really came from the writing and development, not the acting.

I'll admit being snobbish about the secondary or guest actors they sometimes bring in, but honestly, when the budget goes towards CGI, what would you expect?

And I've become a fan of some of them simply on their delivery--I'll probably always be a fan of Torri Higginson because I loved the balance with which she played Weir. Overall, she never skewed her character to stereotype, but played it with a nice kind of understated depth. I appreciate Joe Flanigan, too--he had a way of keeping John light 90% of the time, but in those moments when drama was called for he would just slam you with a really great performance. Many of the others did what they could with their characters. I applaud them all. I'm sorry to hear others aren't as complimentary.

I, unfortunately, will not watch SGU because I did not appreciate how the end of SGA was handled, or how my favorite characters were treated on and off the screen. That is perhaps biased of me, not to give the next series a chance, but I am not willing to invest time in something which may disappoint me like SGA did. However, I trust that the one thing the SG people know how to do is cast well. It's just realizing when to keep them they sometimes have a problem with.

Yes! Both of you managed to say exactly what I was thinking but didn't put in my reply. What they said really is just extremely hypocritical and completely untrue!

Ugh. GW should mention they tend to toss out their good actors or give them lackluster material.

I'm going to be pissed if TPTB doesn't do a good nom this year for those awards. (The one JS was nominated for Missing). Preferably Flanigan for Vegas but that's all I've seen other than the crummy Carson-episodes, the premeire and GitM. I also heard RL did good in The Queen and DH in The Shrine but I can't say as I didn't see them. I will not be surprised though if JS gets a Shrine nomination -- she has a pretty big part in that episode I hear.

I completely want to do a manip of that scene somehow. I just love the imagery used to describe how she's seen in that scene.

*sigh* I need to get my personal photoshop out and play. I just WORK on Photoshop so much that I don't feel like playing when I get home.

I'm going to have to go dig up some matching pictures for it that fit. Should be fun. /sarcasm. I hate picture-finding so much that I used to have other people do it for me.

It's especially hard when you're looking to manip like that because you don't have a specific scene to go for. Say, you want a Sparky sig so you just go and find Sparky-related caps in Sparky-related scenes. But this is so much more difficult as that perfect cap can be buried anywhere in any episode.

Don't know if you guys have seen it before but I love this fanvid. Amzing.

Which scene is this? Specifically. I honestly and truly don't remember a meadow, and I can't go look in the book because I've lent it out at the moment.
And everything does straighten out in the end. It's a really good book, I liked it a lot. It didn't overlook Elizabeth, which makes for a nice change. She was actually treated like a main character! That being said though, I thought she should have been on the cover too. But oh well. *shrugs*
