Wow. The discussions of the day have been amazing. Don't take my not commenting as meaning anything. It's just that I couldn't really add anything of substance (esp to Eri's suggestions for s4/5/6). So on the less substance note:

We just kind of dismissed him, but they were involved for all of S1 and she was assuming they would continue to be. But the writing was still good in those days and they dispensed with him very clearly. RL's pregnancy obviously sent them into a tailspin and they ran around like chickens with their heads cut off for awhile before deciding what to do. I like the idea of Kanaan. They just could have explained him better. Though I guess technically Missing did that in their minds. Oh well, it's all good to me because I'm glad they went that way.Spoiler:
