Elizabeth Weir/John Sheppard Appreciation/Ship/Discussion Thread
And he was totally channeling that old married couple vibe in the way that he played Sheppard in scenes with Weir. He was, darnit.
Spoiler:
OMG, I was so rolling my eyes at the product placement on the gum.
The old married couple vibe just comes naturally for JF, but what was TH's excuse? Oh, I know. Good acting. Chemistry. Liking and respecting your co-star. Chemistry.
Product placement. Vegas/Shrine
Spoiler:
At least with the Budweiser, there was a good reason.

Lol, I was just checking out Torri's IMDB page and I read the personal quote... Has anyone else read this? I love it!! It's our sparky quote from season 1!! I love Torri!!

Okay, what's with the product placement and the gum? I'm at loss here.
The gum
Spoiler:
was obviously Stride gum. They did a close up so you wouldn't miss it. The company probably paid for that since I don't think anyone in the cast owns owned the company like with the Budweiser. LOL
Squee on the Torri quote. We're famous. LOL

The gum...
Spoiler:
Stride did an even more blatant placement on Smallville last year; part of an episode was actually set in a shut-down Stride factory, there was some sort of rave where they had pallets of crates of Stride gum that was being passed out to the partygoers, and it was like everyone was saying 'Stride this' and 'Stride that.' Absolutely insane, and the fans were headdesking all over the place. LOL!

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon.Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.

Ugh...Smallville's notorious for in-show product placement. I remember when Toyota sponsored last year and they had this scene where Clark saw someone injured in a field and they did this long shot of his Toyota Tundra truck skidding through the mud and dirt. I had to laugh out loud cuz I completely expected a Tundra tag line.

Reminds me of 'Ed'. Don't know it anyone here has seen that show, but it was about a lawyer who had his office in a bowling alley... pretty funny show... anyway, I digress... Ed always had a package of Toblerone on his desk and everyone who dared to enter his office got asked: "Toblerone?" And he would shove the package under their nose. Talk about blatant product placement

*snickers* Oh, and let's not forget all the damn bottles of Evian water we also kept seeing on SGA... was really noticeable in Season 3.

The thing with the Evian is that you don't actually need to show the label to know it's an Evian bottle. Now that's sneaky product placement.
Yup. Just that combo of blue bottle & cap with a pink-white label and red lettering seen at a distance is enough.
