Elizabeth Weir/John Sheppard Appreciation/Ship/Discussion Thread
Well, he must have been misquoted many times, by too many people then. I'm not one of those people who wants to know and read everything the actors said or did, but Joe's support for Torri was something really exceptional.
Yup. And it's always the same people why are denying it, or a lot of people were really mishearing things when they were writing their con reports. Hee.
What is Sparky day commemorating anyway? The ship in general? TLG? The last time I was here (before my 18 months in the abyss) the general consensus was not to have a Sparky day.
Oooh, pretty art!
Yes, Sparky Day commemorates the ship. We chose the 18th of every month as Sparky Day because the episode "The Real World" (of course, it should be obvious why we chose that one!) was originally aired on the 18th of August in 2006.

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon.Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.
1. You spread the Weir hatred across multiple threads, working it into topics where it doesn't even belong over more than a year.
2. You read positive comments about Torri from her co-star that directly contradicts your idea that his character hates her character.
3. You express disbelief in said comments and say he was misquoted.
Yeah, sounds about right.
Oh, and let's not forget. 4. You will now claim mean people are persecuting you and they are the delusional ones. Ooookkkaaayyy.
Yup, definitely sounds right!

Thanks, hon. Here's a tidbit you'll love. About Vegas
Spoiler:
It supposedly has Johnny Cash music!
Spoiler:
Squee!
Also Rolling Stones and Marilyn Manson. Okay that last one is not so good, but
Spoiler:
Johnny!
*pokes Anuna to actually watch an episode of S5*
*THUD*
Spoiler:
JOHNNY CASH!!!!
I hope that's true... can't wait to see what song they pick. Hmm, maybe that's why the production values on the past few episodes have been so low... they were saving up their money to pay the royalties for putting a song on the show.

They actually asked fans about romance? Wow, I'm surprised they let that one slip through, considering what a hot-button topic it can be...

LOL. I remember when the show first started JF said they asked the Cash family about putting the poster in his room and were told that Johnny would have been proud to be the first country singer in space. Hee. And that's not a misquote.
BTW I wasted a lot of time searching through old con reports and reading comments from people who were at various cons in the fall of '07. If anything, they played down what he said about Torri. The description of his body language showed he was a bit miffed. Evidently if you hit one of his hot buttons, and he seems to have a lot of them which probably comes from reading the New York Times, *snort* he goes off at great length. And I understand that at the recent NJ con, David N and Chuck said they still miss her, and Jason said he thought Ronon had a thing for her. Hee And a recent interview with Rachel said she misses her. I think she was very popular.

Do you mind linking to more of these? I only have a few bookmarked, but I have to say it makes me happy to see support and missing Torri (and Paul). We're not alone.

SWEEEET! And, of course, Cash was actually in the Air Force. That just tickled me pink when I found that out.

At least among the cast. And of course, the REAL fans, like us.
Oh, and I trust you also read Wraithfodder's con report from the NJ con?
Spoiler:
Damn, I was laughing my *ss off at Chuck Campbell's description of how TPTW were "lackadaisical" when they told the cast and crew the show was canceled. It seems he holds TPTW in as poor regard as we do.

Some people seem to get hissy at me everytime I say Lizzie and/or Carson is part of the team. But I'm right because they are wrong. Ha-ha.
Watch any scenes with Lizzie in a group and tell me she's not a part of the team dynamic, yo.
*headdesk* More of those mushroom eaters...
