I think I know which one you mean... don't know the name or where it is exactly but my friend had someone on her friendslist who mentioned a Belgian restaurant and even gave us the menu to look over.

    What?!? That's just weird.

      Good evening, Sparkies!

So, it sounds like the verdict on Tracker is that it was a snorefest? [sarcasm]Greaaaat.[/sarcasm]

      Spoiler:
McKeller is alive and well. There is some debate on whether Ronon was teasing Rodney when he said he was interested in Keller. I completely missed that, but my husband picked up on it. Again. Beer. Keller was not very annoying. There was very little John. And no Teyla. The runner guy was great. I hope he shows up again.

      Tracker.
      Spoiler:
Keller got whumped, but if she got shot I missed it. Again. Beer.
LMAO! I'll have to remember to tank up before I watch it, then.

      Spoiler:
Barely any John? When he's supposed to be the big damn hero? *headdesk*

Oh well, maybe he's too busy trying to come up with a plan to go get Replibeth and sneak her back onto Atlantis without anyone knowing, so that Rodney and Carson can make a clone of Elizabeth's real body to put her consciousness back into. Yeah, that's it!

Sparky is on screen. Therefore, it is canon. Elizabeth is still out there. And John WILL bring her home.

Oooh, speaking of that, I have a question. If Elizabeth did ascend, couldn't she be able remove herself from Fran's body (doing the pretty glowy thing) and then reappear in her natural form again? Just realised that has a double meaning. Yes, she would be naked, would she not?

The food was great and our waiter was an authentic Belgian. Fun night. Yes, Elizabeth would know all sorts of international things like that, and you know what? I think John would too. They would have lots in common culture wise.
And it's even more obvious now that we know a little more about John's background; coming from a wealthy family, it's more likely he'd have been exposed to a lot of those same things. I wonder sometimes, if he'd followed his father's 'plans' for him, could he still have met Elizabeth, just under other circumstances? International business dealings converging with diplomatic maneuvers?

Brasserie Beck Great place. Picture Elizabeth taking John there when they go to Washington. He asks for Budweiser.

Awww, I probably won't be around tomorrow morning to watch Suspicion and CE -- but I know you guys will have enough fun mocking Teyla's wig without me.

And speaking of this week's 'thon... T-minus 13 hours! Are you ready, Sparkies?

This made my sister and I snort like crazy. Yay, we're authentic Belgians on here too.

Can't contribute to the discussion about beer, as I don't know much about it and don't like drinking the stuff.

Just a thought. As John comes from a rich background, would he have had a more cultured upbringing? Would this include a knowledge of literature (War and Peace notwithstanding?

The question's a little out of the blue, but as it was mentioned about his background, it just occurred to me. You see, a couple of years back I wrote a Valentine fic where John insisted on waxing poetical, and I've always wondered whether that was too oot

This reminds me... I hate when people in fanfic make reference to John still reading War and Peace after 3 years, like he read only 100 pages or so? That's so stupid, that guy read Tolstoi and Dostoievski waaay before Atlantis. Awful ficwriting habit.
I'm not weird, I'm limited edition.

Actually that's not true. In Hide and Seek we see him reading a book and he's somewhere near the middle. TPTW made him a bookworm, this is just fanfic writers putting a stereotype on him.

Somebody say, sparky kid? I'm so gonna watch this and hopefully won't write an AU.

Which leads me to the topic I never get tired of.... in which movies you can imagine Sparky? Lots of us agreed on "The African Queen" and "Captain Corelli's Mandolin".

                                Any other ideas?
The African Queen? OMG! I can totally see thaT, even if it was completely modernised they could still pull it off. I am SO in need of sparky fic.
